    Update: It seems a few features have been stripped from the free version after I made this video. I now recommend using Rescuezilla, check out my video about it here: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html

      They recently started taking away features from the free version. I now recommend using Rescuezilla instead, I made a video about it: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html

    *Those who are frustrated about the cloning system disk being stuck on 1%, PLEASE WAIT for 2-3 hours at least. It takes 2-3 hours to complete 2-3%, and after that within 20-30minutes the remaining 97-98% completes.*
    *This was the scenario in my case, i hope this insight will be helpful for you.*

    How do you move Aomei to a another SSD so you can clone to the one its on? It won't let me register it again. I'm using the same PC,.

      Not sure, I don't use this anymore. I now recommend Rescuezilla for backups and cloning, check out my video on it: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html

    What about cloning ssd from external to Internet, I would like to know

  • @mylovesongs2429
    @mylovesongs2429 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    i was under the impression that this software is free, but i went to the Clone function, and it says if you want to clone a system disk, you have to buy the Pro version. if you want to just clone a non-system disk, you can do it with the standard version.

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea it seems they have stripped some features from the free version at some point after I made this video. I now recommend using Rescuezilla which is free and open source so you never have to worry about losing features. I made a video about it, check it out: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html

    The FREE version of AOMEI is not FREE any more. Do you know if you can install it without the internet turned off would it work. How about an older version?

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry I wasn't aware of that. I'm not sure if you can avoid it. I have another video that covers mostly the same topics but uses Macrium Reflect instead. This one is still free as far as I know th-cam.com/video/3RgI2kGCvjM/w-d-xo.html

    aomei clone error code 208, what is that? thanks in advance!

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't encountered that error, but this page has more information and what to do about it:
      www.ubackup.com/help/error-code.html#:~:text=Information%20Code%20208%3A%20Failed%20to,back%20up%20and%20then%20retry.

    • @vernonbosshard9317
      @vernonbosshard9317 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is one of the let downs of the program, you get error codes that mean nothing to you. You have to email tech support and ask then wait 24 hrs for an answer that doesn't help, you are left with a program you can't use and no real support.

      They have a tool that can be booted without Windows. But I stopped using this software and now use Rescuezilla instead. Check out my video on it: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html

    I have tried several HD cloning software but disappointed at most of them.
    I had been using Acronis True Image. It seemed to work fine until my computer power supply went out and took out the motherboard.
    My tower computer has several removable racks so I can clone to one of 3 drives in rotation.
    After I had my new computer built with a new motherboard, processor, RAM and 4 gig video
    card I decided to clone it.
    After the cloning process was finished the monitor was flashing off and on twice a second. I found out that Acronis had trashed both the cloned disk and my drive “C”.
    I had used the FREE program called AOMEI Backer-up. This was before my computer died.
    After building my new computer I decided to buy the Pro version of AOMEI and use it.
    When I cloned my drive “C” the cloned drive would not boot up. The operating system, Windows 10 Pro would not boot up.
    Several engineer friends told me they use a stand-a-lone device called “Wavlink”. On their suggestions I purchased it. I have removable hard drives so I had to take the hard drives out of the mobile racks and put them into the Wavlink. My drive “C” is a 512gig drive which only has my programs on it. All my data is kept separate on two, two terabytes drives.
    The time it takes to clone my drive “C” takes about 20 minutes. The Wavlink really is worth the $35.

    THE BASIC VERSION WILL NOT COPY IMAGE TO AN SSD.....ONLY TO AN HHD. HAD TO BE A CATCH.

      Thanks for the update. This was not the case when I reviewed it, they must have changed it recently.

    isn't the whole point that you want to backup in case of disk failure even if it's the boot disk? It seems to only show backup's that it knows about because it stored the info locally of the backup's that have been done... can you install this on a clean system and navigate to your backup on a networked drive to restore it to your hdd? Seems like something you should have covered in the video 🤷‍♂

    Its very interesting that this video has the exact same background and script as a completely different youtube channels "review" of aomei.
    The only reason i found this is because i saw a ton of obvious bot comments shilling this software, and wanted to confirm my suspicion that this was a chinese scam company.

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Can you show me the video you're talking about that has the exact same background and script?
      Lots of Chinese companies use bots, doesn't mean the software is a scam. Even though I no longer recommend this software, it does work and does what they claim it does. Also I made this video when my channel was still new, and reviewing backup software seemed like a good way to gain more viewers at the time.

    Please note system clone and disk clone is not the same thing. You will not be able to boot into a backup using disk clone. System clone creates a bootable drive.

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's not true at all. In fact, I used disk clone in the video and I was able to boot perfectly fine... did you not watch the video? 🤦‍♂️

    Aomei backupper is a ripoff. Getting a refund is difficult, tech support is almost non existent, come from china so you have to wait 24 hrs to get a response, then its a generic response that doesn't fit the question. I installed Aomei on the drive I needed to clone too, so tried reinstalling to the a source drive but I could not, you only get one registration, so where you put it is where it stays. No use to me now. I bought the pro version. So if I clone my HDD back to the SSD Aomei us on its gone, then I have to buy a new lic. I used it ONE time.

    • @PhazerTech
      @PhazerTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      Sorry to hear that, I understand how frustrating that can be. That's why I now suggest using Rescuezilla instead. Check out my video on it here: th-cam.com/video/zIJbqcHmi10/w-d-xo.html
