Paul when I read the Shack I had just met Jesus in my living room. Greatest day of my life. And I stayed hearing all the hate about your book but all I ever told people is that when we meet Jesus our Maker it’s so hard to explain what has happened on the inside of us so we try with our peanut brain as hard as we can and I’ll have to say that you did an amazing job. The born from above experience has to have been experienced by the hearers or they just look at us like we’re Cookoo!!!

Rodney Beaulieu his study of the KJV (King James Bibile) will help you and everyone here a lot more about God, don't worry he believes in the salvation of all and universal reconciliation. Look folks just study the King James, get rid of all presupposition of what you were taught and just study rightly divide with universal reconciliation in mind.
AKJV Translation ONLY, no apologies! To begin to Rightly divide Scripture from scriptures, draw a wide red line between Genesis 2:3 and 2:4. Then see that the deity in Chapter 2 is not the same as the Deity in Chapter 1:1 thru 2:3, G-o-d, Genesis One's Deity, God, Elohiym, The Supreme Triune True Co-creators. Then see that "the all-Caps LORD"of Chapter 4 is not God, but Adam. Eve knew that it wasn't God who got her pregnant with Cain and Abel. She is calling Adam "LORD" due to the curse of Genesis 3:16. This also sheds Light on why the LORD (Adam) had preferential respect for Abel's offering over Cain's. He having been cursed to be a farmer was tired of vegetables, so when Abel brought him a freshly roasted leg of lamb, he was greatly pleased. God would have had equal respect for both offerings. No wonder Cain was so upset. This is very similar to Jacob stealing Esau's birthright. Every Bible story, parable or allegory is much deeper than the letter implies. This is a good place to begin forgiving the dysfunctional families of the Scriptures.

@@cherylwilliams4738it can be confusing because we are influenced by western theology . That’s does not exclude us from going through fire and needing to draw near to them, gaining knowledge of the early church to undo some things. It’s a good journey keep listening to more .

Unfortunately, Young has gone beyond the clear teaching of the Bible and has discarded some essential teachings of the Christian faith. He is mostly arguing against a “monster God” version of Christianity which is not consistent with the worldwide Christian faith. While discarding these monster God perversions, he has also discarded essential truths. His current theological position makes no sense as it both affirms and rejects the same truth. For example, while discrediting the Old Testament, he acknowledges the “New Testament is rock solid and you can trust it.” While the contents of the New Testament include over 300 references to the OT, which validate its accuracy as the word of God and its clarity for us as its readers.
I think his movie the Shack is a great introduction to a God of love for those who have been abused by perversions of the faith. I hope Young himself lands somewhere better than where he is at. The actual truth is better than what he’s advocating.
The actual question Young is asking comes through several times. It is this: “did God really say?” He asks it several times throughout and then answers his own question with “no, God didn’t really say. We just misunderstood him.” One can hear the origin of this philosophy as it sounds similar to: “You surely will not die, for God knows that when you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”
Young's teaching is described in 2 Peter 3 when Peter says “Some things in these letters are hard to understand, things the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they also do to the rest of the scriptures. Therefore, dear friends, since you have been forewarned, be on your guard that you do not get led astray by the error of these unprincipled men and fall from your firm grasp on the truth.”
In the Bible, human beings are not universally and unconditionally saved. Instead, we are called upon to appropriate that work through faith and repentance. Peter stands up in Acts 3 and says, “Therefore repent and turn back so that your sins may be wiped out.” God takes the willing into his presence in the afterlife and there is a battle here for who those will be. God has given us a vote to use our time, talents, and resources to further his kingdom. This is the historical Christian belief.
In this way, I do agree with Young that God submits to us in certain ways, one of those ways being our acceptance of Jesus' sacrifice. If we choose not to accept it then at the end God says to us "your will be done." Eternal conscious torment is a child's caricature of hell and is a bit of a "straw man" argument against the hell that actually exists. It maybe medieval in origin. But if Young is going to use the Bible to argue his case, he also needs to address the 10+ recorded words of Jesus that describe and explain hell as a continuing state in the afterlife. This idea that God forces everyone to choose him at the end is a sort of "fatalism" that Young himself criticizes at the beginning.
All that said, God works through imperfect humans 100% of the time. My own salvation came through a pastor that I no longer follow and I know that healing can come even through Young's presentation of this gospel that has been distorted by the evil one.
Well said. We always need to be willing to learn and ask God but never ever take another person as being 100% correct 100% of the time. And neither ARE any of us.
If it is God’s will to be all in all… then God will be all in all. Maybe humans focus on their wrong thing based on their own fears which they then make their reality of self created hell on earth. Instead of stepping into the kingdom of God which is here now, they cannot see past the perceived separation from God. Of course when we perceive we are separated and alone and not sufficient enough; not good enough.. what else do we expect to happen? Hurt people hurt people… and God will use these situations to help us all heal and realize we were never separate to begin with, we were just blind.

“the word” is a kind of box certain kind of word that is equivalent for the glorify of God to be expressed within the parameters in which God has chosen to express likewise we have God being manifested in the flesh cross reference the word manifested in the flesh as an equivalent for the revelation of God in truth and in spirit… the box is rather our best representative to all things carnal or finite expressed to the carnal and finite form the heavenly and spiritual so we see the incomprehensible light shinning into the darkness… and only by true revelation can reveal things of the spirit and truth a box is like a accidental straw man attack where as the word is revelation or maybe we can even say that creation and revelation is Gods manifestation to witness and testify of himself through sovereignty and free will. Free will of himself and by free will of human persons. I simply am addressing what I perceive as an accidental error presented… what I see as boxes can be seen as follows: creation, the word, the word in flesh/the son, any truth that points to creator is a puzzle piece to the boxes of understanding… understanding itself is built upon the premises of perceived truth however the proper foundation of a premise or perceived truth is by which the Bible speaks which is as Christ speaks in scripture the foundation that is not built upon with sand that will not stand

Do you, or anyone out there, have a teaching or an explanation for why God did “make coats of skins to cover them”, Adam and Eve. And why did God have respect for Abel’s offering and not for Cain’s?

1. Some say their spirits encompassed their body in glory, until the fall when the glory left and they needed skin. 2. Some say Cains heart attitude was that he felt that God wasn't good. Best idea would be to ask Father himself to lead you into revelation about these things. I get excited when I don't understand a scripture as I know He's about to reveal something to me personally.

I'll offer you the meaning I give to the story, as I have wondered too.
Genesis gives us a context and a pre-history to the Old Covenant it is a preamble to what follows, in my mind. God put the tree of knowledge in the garden, it is the tree of the knowledge of good and evil from Gods' point of view. It probably gave an awareness of sin but no solution for the death caused by sin. In fact, to put ones hope in it assured Adams death. The other tree represents union with God thru faith and spirit thru which our God life comes, the New Covenant.
Adam put his hope in the wrong tree. All Adam found out was that he was naked, not adequate and vulnerable. So God covers his nakedness with a temporary fix , a fix that reminded them year after year of their sin, Hebrews 10:3, till the real fix comes. Rom 10:2-4.
God actually honors Adams' choice to live from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, but it does have consequences. I think the Old Covenant pictures living from that tree, that is, living without faith and spirit, generally speaking; because there appears to be, plenty of anomalies, not everyone did.
Cain's offering may have been rejected because he already was in sin. See Matt 5: 23, 24. Malachi 1:10 . Gen 4:7 might indicate that.

I believe that the commandments of the Old Covenant given to Israel relate to the commandment given to Adam in the manner whimsically delivered in an aside found in the song ‘I’m Henry VIII I am’ by Herman’s Hermits:
“Second verse same as the first,
a little bit louder and a little bit worse.”
Adam submitted to the lies of the slanderer of God, and Adam’s disobedience brought the curse of death upon all of mankind (and “sin reigns through death”). ThIs curse was lifted off all mankind by the last Adam. “For as by one man’s disobedience many* were made sinners, so also by one Man’s obedience many* will be made righteous.” Romans 5:19.
*The “many” is ‘all of us’ with the Sole exception of just one Man, the righteous Son of mankind.
Israel, being under the curse of sin (= missing the mark) and death, readily submitted to the slander that God’s love could be earned when it is impossible to earn agapé. Their tragic story of absolute failure demonstrated that the work of God is just that - the work of God!
The difference between the vanity of Adam and Israel is that Adam was never consulted, he was commanded, “to not eat of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil”; whereas Israel, despite being warned of the consequence of failure, entered into a covenant with God.
The law given to Israel, having been fulfilled by their Messiah Who they murdered and then rejected for forty years were, as a nation, judged at the closing of the OC, “the end of the age”, at the second coming of Christ in 70 AD when their temple was raized to the ground and Jerusalem destroyed. They conclusively proved that the law is good but it cannot save. They also recorded it for our admonition, all scripture was written by Israelites.
In Adam’s case which included all of his progeny (including Israel), God was bound to observe the spirit of the law found in Exodus 21:33-34, “And if a man shall open a pit, or if a man shall dig a pit, and not cover it, and an ox or an ass fall therein; the owner of the pit shall make it good, and give money unto the owner of them; and the dead beast shall be his.”
This same requirement was put on someone who did not put guard rails on his roof when he built it and somebody fell to his death.
God is Absolute, He knows the end from the beginning, but Adam was a relative creature, an ox and an ass, ignorant and stubborn. His ignorance was built-in because he was in a ‘spiritual whiteout’. All he knew was ‘the good’, but there is no record of him giving thanks for his idyllic state because he had no contrast whereby he could appreciate Paradise. God could have put angels with flaming swords between Adam and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil but He didn’t. The responsibility to redeem (give money for) Adam was God’s, the responsibility to make it good was God’s, and the Owner to Whom everything was to be made good is God. Truly, “God is able to reconcile all things to Himself.” “Behold the Lamb ...” (Who is the Resurrection and the Life) “... slain BEFORE the foundation of the world.” Why? Again, because God knows the end from the beginning.
The outcome has never been in doubt, the Spirit has always been within or none of us could ever have drawn breath, but we have been blind, stumbling around in darkness, when the Light has always been with us and in us. All of us (that is, those made in the image of God), having been temporarily blind, shall share and enjoy our Father’s transcendent light together - forever.
Neither Adam nor Israel had any real choice. Neither do we, the deception of ‘choice’, choosing God (or else!), accepting the gift, surrendering, making a decision, is propagated by dead religion and it’s exponents are ‘working it’ to this day, “disguised as ministers of righteousness.”
A word about Cain to close. Abel and Cain were both under sin, I believe Cain’s offering was rejected because it was the work of his hands, Abel’s offering was a life that he could not ‘work’ up.
Sorry if I have rambled on a bit.
We are not under law, and where there is no law sin is not imputed. I believe that we are in what a pre-70 AD Israelite would amazingly accept as “a new heaven and a new earth.”
