THANK YOU SO MUCH for this TIP...!!! I too bought 5 blocks of Premo translucent and it was so crumbly and I didn’t know how I was going to be able to use it. Now I know and I bought the softener and it is working as I write this. Thanks again Katie for a GREAT TIP...!!!😍💞🤗
Very good tips. When I first started buying clay, I bought an older lot of it and was told to use mineral oil to soften it. I spent so much time conditioning that clay that I just use the new as often as possible now. It’s maddening to spend time to condition older dryer clay, but I know it’s necessary at times. Thank you!😀
OMGosh this tutorial has come at a perfect time. I have 3 blocks of Fimo clay that are rock hard, I was considering throwing it away. With this solution I'll be able to use it and not have my pasta machine break down. Thank you so so much Katie
My white translucent in the small blocks this past Christmas was this bad...Thank you for the trick because I can't do anything with it! I appreciate your Pearl of wisdom sister💜👍
24 hours later or about that I can now get it to come together gonna wait until tomorrow after work to use it but the longer it sits the better it will get
Yes I can see the difference! I am having this exact problem right this minute with premo translucent so I’ve done just what you did! If it doesn’t work no problem- better to try something than to waste it! I’ll let you know if it works!
Well, mine worked overnight and I couldn’t be more surprised! I rolled it out, a couple of times through the pasta machine and I’ve just made a lovely shadow cane with it. Thanks for that tip!
Darn. Wish I'd seen this earlier. I ended up throwing away my Kato black. It was like coarse sand and wouldn't stick together at all. Thanks for the info!
Hi! I did this earlier this year. I did learn something last month however.. Don't use plastic cups.. It eats through the cups.. Hahaha I now have plastic Holy cups.. (I ran out of sandwich bags at the time and thought the plastic cups would work).
I do not I use something made for polymer clay just so I dont have a reaction a year or 2 down the road now I have never tested the things people do like baby oil I've heard mineral oils or something too but I just don't wanna waste my clay that's why not unless I would test it for a year or two raw and baked to make sure it didn't get sticky or affect my strength or other things

Love your suggestion because I tend to buy clay and don’t use it for a while. Thank you for sharing 🌹

I found mine was made in 2013 and that's why it was so unworkable. My recent batch March of this year. Totally different . Thanks for the video
