Ok first of all .. all these people are saying lies in comments .I'm from middle East, and I can tell you the truth, this kins of project is common in Kuwait and gulf area .. the truth is .this was small project and it was made similar to south park to mock the schools in gulf and show you how similar they are, you will be shocked how good a story line it is ..but no one supported the artists ..why? First it got stopped because it touched a serious issue..example the fat lady is Egyptian , it represents a typical type of teachers in gulf since the gulf War and its very very bad stereotyping ..its bad but sorry to say not wrong ..do you understand? Like South park, they tried in block 13 to show that similar bad truth about society. .. like showing a high voiced Egyptian trying to speak wrong accent which made her words sound really bad,or having secretary that has big boobs lebanese that her boss very rich old man harassing her .. or old teacher that the board of education can't kick cause he is so old , but the project just like the original copy was too harsh ..😅 and they stopped saying, the problem is bigger than a copy ..gulf countries lived on the education of foreign for more than 80 years and now they are kicking them and mocking them...its too bad
To be honest, I hope the creators of South Park discover this and do a crossover like The Amazing World of Gumball did. I want to see them make fun of the ripoff and completely throw shade it at like how Gumball did.

block 13 was made in 2000's very old show, and the creator was a fan of south park, he wanted to animate a series so he went for block 13, it doesn't contain any explicit content. He said himself in an interview "i had trouble making this show since its hard for me to imagine an entire episode that is tottaly clean and family friendly".
Later he started his own original 3d series that met with huge success.

Guys the only reason block 13 was created was because south park was banned in Kuwait in 1999
Fun fact: Block 13 was used to be a Parody but when they saw it they were saying make a show out of it so they did and block 13 is actually kid friendly
First of all, thank you for making this episode and shedding some light on Block 13. Let me give you the historical background on this show. This was a Kuwaiti TV that spawned for 3 seasons, from 2000-2002. It was made to be aired in the holy month of Ramadan, right after the Iftar (the time when people broke their fast), and even though it takes a lot from South Park, the messages and stories of each episode were done to reflect everything going in Kuwait at those times, covering many social and political topics. The show itself never did have any profanity or adult themes and was child friendly but also catered to adults. The director of this show is Nawaf AlShammari, who is known for his many comedic tv shows, including one series that had episodes parodying the most famous American movies every made, it’s called سينمائيات if you wanna look that up
This show was a huge hit here in Kuwait with tons of toys and merchandising made off these characters
I hope this short historical lesson shed some light on this show ;p

As a kuwaiti and someone who grew up with the show, its GENUINELY not as bad as it seems
As a Kuwaiti, I'm not defending this, We all thought it was complete rip-off too in art-style, but I feel I wanna say something,
I know that the makers of Block 13 NEVER claimed it's an Original show, In fact they KNOW Kuwaities ARE aware of South Park's Existence, it just South Park here is, ehhh... it's sort of like Semi-Banned here, So they poked fun with it by making a copy of the show except with our own topics that were tame enough for the audience that it can be allowed on air... And it was a hit apparently, only aired in Ramadan each year because children can watch it and adults poked fun of it.
Not to mention it was also used to tackle some social issues in Kuwait and give light and awareness to them, say like "Bullying" and how we can go "Anti-Bully" for example~
So to Non-Kuwaiti, they see it as a horrible rip off, to a Kuwaiti, They know it's not the real deal as South Park, but it won a chuckle or two because of the topics and how they tackled it,

I remember seeing and episode of this in Kuwait TV about 25 years ago. And yeah, as a kid, I was happy that I found the local South Park ripoff, and my mom was also happy because neither of us understands it. She did not like when I watched the original, profound series :)

Nickelodeon, Comedy Central, and South Park Studios all approved of this because South Park is banned in countries like Kuwait. This is an Arabic adaptation of the show, meant without any explicit content for those countries.

Listen, Block 13 (فطعة 13) is an adaptation to South Park in the middle east which South Park is banned there so someone made Block 13 for Kuwait and it was a thing 100% allowed by Comedy Central.
To be fair, Kenny stopped getting killed off every episode quite a few seasons ago because it was getting old and stale. So they diled it back a bit on that. I know after a while, they did it again but not by much, really. So maybe in time, Block 13 will also follow suit by not killing off Benny anymore in every episode for the same exact reason.

To be FAIR, block 13 exists because South Park is banned in their country. It doesn’t look perfect, but they tried. I don’t think they tried to be South Park, I think they were trying to do it because it was the next best thing because people couldn’t watch the actual South Park. It IS still a ripoff, but at least there was a reason other than money. It’s also not in inappropriate from what I’ve heard and I’m pretty sure it was to like teach people lessons or something.

it tackled many Kuwaiti social subjects from that year , it also featured Kuwaiti stars as guests
The show aired for two years premiering on November 27th 2000 and it ended on December 5th 2002

Block 13 (also known as قطعة 13 in native Arabic) a Kuwaiti cartoon series. It is adapted from the American cartoon series 'South Park'
It is directed by Nawaf Salem Al-Shammari (نواف سالم الشمري) in collaboration with Saleh Al-Bawi (صالح الباوي), Mona Shaddad (منى شداد), Daoud Hussein (داود حسين), Yousuf Al-Omani (يوسف العماني) and Abeer Al-Gendy (عبير الجندي).
It was shown on Kuwait TV in 2000. The series dealt with many issues that concern the Kuwaiti society in a smooth and funny way and was exposed in the Kuwaiti dialect.
The main characters are derived from South Park in terms of appearance and design but the focus and issues are so different that they do not contain scenes of violence or anything else, because they are very different from this aspect, they tell Kuwaiti, Arab and Gulf issues and suits all ages. As well as new figures not found in South Park such as Ms. Attiyat. It also shows the Gulf fashion and customs.

Its not a rip off, south park was banned in the middle east and Comedy Central wanted people to enjoy the show, That's how Block 13 was born
I actually watched both shows, block 13 was pretty successful at the time and it represents the Kuwaiti culture, People from the Arabian Gulf(Khaleejies) in general and it was pretty funny ngl. Not sure people from different region will find it enjoyable since they wont get or relate to the jokes/characters.
The fat one is Eric, The one with brown hat is Stan, the one w weird head is Kyle, and obviously Kenny.
The one who talks English is half American half Kuwaiti, he doesn't speak Arabic very well, his Kuwaiti father married his mom just for the American passport which is ironic since many people did that at the time.
