I bought and listened to momentary lapse woth excitement and i was very pleased. It proved that Pink Floyd was still alive n well. All the songs are great. I recently loved to listen ro Dogs of War bcs it is timeless, not to mention On the Turning Away which is a Masterpiece. All Pink's albums have 1 or 2 masterpieces but I'm like you, I love their Live version a lot better. I tip my hat to the sound engineers, their live shows are as crisp n clear as their studio albums. Thanks!
It would be insane if you could interview Guy Pratt, he such a funny person and full of awesome stories! And I think he would be willing to do a video with you when asked.
And don’t forget the Rockonteurs podcast Guy with Gary Kemp (both in Nick Mason’s Saucerful band (that would be worth a review). Amazing range of interviewees including 2 with Nick
Great video! It's worth noting that there are two versions of this album: the original from 1988 and the 2019 remix, which features more tracks but cuts out some parts, like Guy's bass solo on "Money." Also, there are two versions of the film, but I definitely prefer the newer one--the editing from the original one can be a little headache-inducing, haha. Can't wait for your video on Roger's albums!
11:02 - Regarding the pig pissing on people.. When I saw the tour a second time in Philadelphia at Veteran's stadium, it was lightly raining (more of a mist really). Said rain did the same thing - made it look like the pig was pissing on the audience. A second thing is when they went to put the pig away after it's flight, it kicked Rick Wright in the head and almost knocked him over while he was playing. :)
I saw the Momentary Lapse tour in Sydney. I've seen some great concerts since, including Dire Straits, Fleetwood Mac and most recently Foo Fighters, but as good as those shows were, especially Foo Fighters' tribute to the then-recently deceased Malcolm Young of AC/DC, none of them came close to Pink Floyd.
Which one do you prefer? The original with the 80s sound or the 2019 remix with dry drums but more songs (and more Rick)? I think I prefer the original but it's hard to choose!
The concert video pales in comparison to when I saw them live in 1987. Except for The Great Gig In The Sky. To this day it is the only version that holds up against the original. The three voices taking the three parts was assigned perfectly. And again, Welcome to The Machine in the Kingdome was my highlight. But as I stated before as a member of a fanbase that was starved for Pink Floyd, I loved it because you could actually see 3/4 of Pink Floyd perform! Yes, hoping Roger would rejoin...ah, the follies of youth.
I don't usually do those for live albums, especially when the contain material from the studio albums. Live at Pompeii was a rare exception. However "On the Turning Away" would be my essential track. These versions of "Sorrow," "Learning to Fly," "One Slip" and "Dogs of War," honestly pretty much anything from Momentary Lapse of Reason, are standout tracks.
@@johnlauracave8169 I checked both of those again, I didn’t give them ratings. I said if they released The Wall tour video in high def, it would reach goldfish level for me, but they’ve never released it.
I’ve always thought Pulse was far better than Delicate Sounds of Thunder. I always found the DSoT performance to be more stale in comparison. Just my opinion!

@@jeremykeens3905 Love The Rockonteurs
Really great live album, and it feels like the band fully gained confidence on this tour with Dave being the leader.
Agreed 👍
Waters was such an arrogant pill
Fantastic live album, this cemented that I was a Floyd fan, and made me go back to look at DSOTM and Meddle as a teenager - and love them.
Delicate Sound of Thunder is a great live album, AMLOR becomes godly by just being played live. Great video too!

Your channel deserves to be huge.
Thank you! Spread the word.
I can’t wait to see this!
Both Scott Page (sax)and Gary Wallace (drums) are my unsung heroes of this tour, without which I do not believe would have been as exciting or fun.
Love this one!
This remaster was incredible plus the 8 extra songs ommitted from the original are a welcome addition
This album brings me back to Tampa, 10/30/1987. Best Concert EVER!
Another monster of an album. Another great review, really enjoying this series.
My new favorite channel!!! These are all very enlightening and well done!
Great video again JT. Very interesting details of this tour.
Love the reviews and interviews!
I've seen this tour at the Olympic stadium in Montreal, to this day it's the best concert I've ever seen!
I saw this tour very early on, and was lucky enough to see them still do Echoes. It was glorious.

Momentary Lapse was my first Floyd record and I’m just now learning Tony Levin was on bass? Mind blown
By the way, the Obi Wan Kenobi TH-cam page has the BEST Pink Floyd live videos, AND they are all subtitled too so you can follow along!
Very cool you wear that 80s David look with the white t below the Jacket!

Would be really cool to see you go through Deep Purple's Discography as well!

We need a Pulse review
I was there!
The lack of Pink Floyd live albums is honestly criminal.
It's a giant shame they didn't professionally record their 70s shows, with the exception of the 1974 Wembley show.
brilliant
Let's be honest. This album has the best title of any Pink Floyd album. I rate this above Dark Side.
Uh… where was the rating/essential tracks?
Why would you need a rating when it's already perfect.

@@JTCurtisMusic You also did the ratings for The Wall live and Concert for Bangladesh if I remember correctly

i guess you where teasing amused to death at the end?
You may be onto something ;)
@@JTCurtisMusic cant wait! love that album more than some floyd stuff
Why didn’t you make a Division Bell & Pulse review? These albums have got great moments too. And a lot of historic events too.
They're coming...
see on TH-cam at: BLACK METAL TEENS LISTENING PINK FLOYD
You should time-travel back to the late 80s and join the band.
I’ll need a DeLorean first…
The GOD LIKE Comfortably Numb solo is on the original DSOT album….Not on PULSE.
Yo, can u do fleetwood Mac next??
Did them already:

I like this album but have to say I find turning away a bit cheesy.

ahaha what "roger has been up to?" i guess this may be the beginning of eventually becoming a putin apologist
This was the guy Roger was referring to in the preamble to the "this is not a drill tour". Have fun at the bar! Hope they're playing CNN on the TV!
That’s not Pink Floyd
Loved it ❤
