It calms my aching heart to know that you are finally in a beautiful sunny field up there in the sky shining like the moon and sun just like you shined down here on earth. With all animals and creatures alike you could ever want. I miss u and your videos so so much

I’m the same with bookstores (and libraries). They’re my comfortable space, I could spend hours in them without complaining. And I could also spend an inordinate amount of money in them (whoops whoops). Thank you for all you do and I’m loving the color coordination!

Exactly! They are such a comfortable space for me. One of the few public spaces I feel that way in!

Can't wait for you to review A Thousand Splendid Suns. Someone gave me The Kite Runner years ago & it has never left me. So incredibly moving & years on it remains my all time favourite read. I bought it for everyone I knew. Splendid Suns was equally brilliant! Btw I went to Norway in May this year, my first visit to Scandinavia & fell in love with it. I realise it was a holiday not everyday life but there was something so special about it. Beautiful gentle people & it just seemed like a very spiritual restful calm way of living. I can totally understand how it would benefit wellbeing. I'm also a huge advocate of following your dream so I say go live the life you want. 😊

It's already August here and I just turned 24 and after this video I'm kind of feeling tempted to go and treat myself to new books today. Especially 'The Daughter of Doctor Moreau', because it sounds interesting and it's written by Garcia who is such a brilliant author. I feel she really knows her way with words. I've found some of the most amazing sentences and metaphors in her books, especially in 'The Gods of Jade and Shadow'. Thank You for the recommendations and great work on the video, as always, Madison Moon!❤️ Also the Haul looks amazing! Hope you have a great week!❤️❤️❤️
PS- Thank You for including non- fiction books in your videos as well. They help me give a shot at the non- fiction works as well which is an area I am not very familiar with.

Well Happy Birthday!!! 🎉 I hope you had a wonderful day. 😊 I think you deserve to treat yourself to some new books. 💜
I only started reading nonfiction recently, I just had to find topics I was interested in. I hope you are also able to find good ones! 😊

As an adult recently into Manga, try DeathNote. It’s an interesting take on right and wrong with a supernatural element and sort of a coo and robber plot. Also Spy x Family is fun. A bit lighter fare, but I’m enjoying the spy drama elements.

I live in Sweden and you are very welcome here! I live in the most southern part so we don’t get the total darkness or the midnight sun, it’s only the part above the arctic circle that really do. But finding a rural place is really easy. There’s countryside everywhere even here in the most crowded area of Sweden (Skåne). We’re also supposed to be pretty good at English.

I love book Hauls…..my bank account would disagree !
I haven’t read any of these books but I do have a couple of them on my shelf. I am hoping to get to The Daughter of Doctor Moreau in August but my TBR never stays the same bc I’m such a mood reader. Lately, I’ve been reading more on the “light and fluffy” side bc life has been chaotic and stressful, so my brain decided to hibernate and shut off lol
Thanks for another great video, they really help me relax ❤️

    • @MadisonMoonASMR
      @MadisonMoonASMR  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Same, I can’t even imagine the amount of money I spend on books in a year. 😬 I definitely go through phases where I read only “light and fluffy”. I’m also a mood reader! I’ll try and go back and forth between fiction and non fiction but sometimes I am like I need something particular.

A Thousand Splendid Suns is amazing, definitely read the Kite Runner too! It is a difficult read though.
I thought the Awakening was only ok, not sure I'll pick up the next one.

I'm not very fan of haul videos because usually they don't tell you much info about the opinions on the books, but I tell you, your show and tell are the best (It's my favourite trigger, so I appreciate a lot). Maybe I'll try a Thousand Splendid Suns, last month I read The Kite Runner and I loved so much and I loved the way that was written.
For the philosophy part, I'm also very interested in philosophy, so I did some research while ago and I saw that A history of western philosophy by Bertrand Rusell is like a good point to start to understand authors (but I've not read it yet). But, I'm watching Merlí, which is a spanish (it's in catalan) show about a philoshopy teacher in a school in Barcelona that explains one author in every episode and relates that with the characters and the show. I love the show because it mades so approachable to understand some key concepts and makes you feel curious about certain authors. I recommend you that if you're interested.
I hope you're having a nice summer. Thanks for the video! Greetings from Spain

Sophie’s World by Jostein Gaarder would be perfect for the philosophy introduction you’re looking for. It’s a novel, but each chapter contains a summary of a particular philosophical school of thought as the main character is learning philosophy through anonymous letters she she receives in the mail. It’s informative and an amazing story.

Haven't read any of these but the Alchemist sounds good! That Nora Roberts book. Sooo weird that it's her. I know her just from all of her books laying around my house when I was a kid hahaha. Crazy that she wrote/writes fantasy.

Ahh! Book of Night was so so good! But it's not very graphic compared to The Cruel Prince trilogy. It has a couple of swear words and fade to black scenes. It gives more YA vibes instead of NA imo :') But I still very much enjoyed it! It's a bit slow at first though :)
