I would often sneak away from home and head to the beach... hearing the waves crash, chilling by the shore, and watching the sunset was my ideal day out alone. All that changed when I realized it was fun having to do it with someone you cared about. No awkwardness. No tension. Just you and that someone emoting together until you realize its dark out and need to head home. As time passed, my usual place to emote alone has changed... now my favorite place in the world is next to you.
When I was a little girl I had an emotional detachment to people and things. I had a lot of issues and was unaware of it all. I did have a crush on this boy though. He was so sweet and different from the other boys. In fifth grade we started to talk, and became best friends. Around the end of 7th grade, he asked me out. Its been nearly four years, and we are still dating. I think at first I was hardcore girl crushing. But now I am totally in love. My boyfriend and I have slowly grown closer at the beginning of our relationship. We had hugged before but that’s it, but during the dance, a few of his friends grabbed both of our wrists and dragged us outside. He's an honest idiot who knows nothing about America and the socially acceptable limits, yet hanging out with him reminds me of our home country. when i was really little, i had a crush on a boy who became my first “boyfriend.” i put quotations around boyfriend because he wasn’t really my boyfriend. i broke up with him 8 years later (last year when i’m writing this). i was heartbroken. main word: was. i thought i’d never recover, i thought i loved him. i never did. one day i saw someone who was so perfect, their face was so beautiful and i just wanted to wrap my arms around their body. suddenly i forgot about my old boyfriend, the world finally seemed okay. i started talking to the person and now we’re dating. he showed me so many new things about myself, mainly the fact that i’m not cisgender or straight. i mainly shared this story to tell people, it gets better. you can find someone better, someone who loves you more, everything will be fine, everything will put itself into place.

My boyfriend and I have slowly grown closer at the beginning of our relationship. We had hugged before but that’s it, but during the dance, a few of his friends grabbed both of our wrists and dragged us outside. (not romantic)I have a childhood friend who came to America at the same time as me and were like siblings. I'm more street smart and he's more book smart. He's an honest idiot who knows nothing about America and the socially acceptable limits, yet hanging out with him reminds me of our home country. He has a thing for blonde girls and when he likes someone he goes alll the way. Poems, flowers, declarations of love, etc. It's honestly overwhelming for them so they always come to me to stop him. It honestly hurts having to be the one to break his heart for them. He may be bad at alot of things but in the end he is loyal and kind. I'm glad we have each other but I hope one day a girl will realize that he is a good guy.

when i was really little, i had a crush on a boy who became my first “boyfriend.” i put quotations around boyfriend because he wasn’t really my boyfriend. i broke up with him 8 years later (last year when i’m writing this). i was heartbroken. main word: was. i thought i’d never recover, i thought i loved him. i never did. one day i saw someone who was so perfect, their face was so beautiful and i just wanted to wrap my arms around their body. suddenly i forgot about my old boyfriend, the world finally seemed okay. i started talking to the person and now we’re dating. he showed me so many new things about myself, mainly the fact that i’m not cisgender or straight. i mainly shared this story to tell people, it gets better. you can find someone better, someone who loves you more, everything will be fine, everything will put itself into place.
