  • I just wanted to introduce you to the new flock! Scott made a homemade brooder out of scrap wood - some of which was a frame from a juccuzi from my son's house. He added screen and chicken wire to keep the chicks in and the predators out! There's a light keeping them warm, chick feed, and water. They are thriving!

Anytime our chickens would have babies my dog would always sit right next to their coop and watch over the chicks she would try to bite you anytime you picked up the chicks she would lay down with them, and it almost seemed like she felt like their mother 😂❤

I love how they get so protective of the baby chicks! Our dog sits right outside the coop and listens for any distress. You would think he would want to eat them but it is solely to protect them.

I love the design! But beware that chicken wire is meant to keep chicken IN, not predators out. Hardware cloth for that. And love the outfit!

      @@gmonay2k A 250-watt heating lamp is optimal.

You should think about raccoons and other wildlife coming up there to get in to it?? Just saying they can get in there. It’s not good.
