    You're missing the engine bright! Really makes the wrinkle black finish look nice.

    i have a 2007 Street Glide with 96 ci engine and just turned 47000 mi.... i juat came back from a 700 mi trip.... I use it for touring and long trips .... it's loud but noy obnoxius and sounds awesme, i do clean it and shine everything everytime before i go out ... that has nothing to do with the bike or car etc. that is just my way of life and how I take care of everything i own or use.
    I like the new bikes (Harleys) but they are just too expensive and look like any other bike on the road just like cars nowdays, My old SG still looks awesome and turns heads, it looks like a Harley still... the new ones you can't tell them apart from an Indian or other brands, i don't need GPS, sound system or a big screen on my bike... it's too loud for music and I look at the sun location for directions.... when I ride I want to be lost! lol😂

    Everyone raves about the newer milw 8 im not a fan of the new ones yeah they are fast but there is only so far they can go and honestly not a fan of the direction of harley they have brought china into the mix with the sportster etc im not a fan and the twin cam 07 and later are good motors you can get the miles on them and they will still run great

    I sold my 2012 SG five years ago. I loved that bike and regretted it ever since. When I sold it, I said ‘maybe again one day’. Two weeks ago, I bought a 2006 SG for a great deal. Immediately I felt the difference in the ‘vibe’ you’re referring to. I get it and totally agree. It just has a spirit the 2012 did not have. One of Harley’s golden era that you can’t describe, only feel.

    I sort of agree but because i haven't a lot of experience with Harleys am not really qualified to judge. What i can say is that last week i bought a 2007 Electra Glide, took the tour pak off cos it looks far better and i absolutely love it.

    I had 10 Harleys over the years and the m8 motors don't have the same sound or feel as the older motors ride what you like but I agree with you.

    Hence why I love my 07 SG. My buddy pulled up with his 2020 RG and I asked if he bought an Indian or a Goldwing. It just doesn't have the same feel. I get it, and I love the newer HD's. They just don't have that vibe the 88's and 96's have. Or the 103's for that matter.

    Great video ! I got my first "real" bike 2 weeks ago a 2007 Roadglide with only 6,500 miles, clean as a whistle my brother got it from the original owner 5 years ago, it's almost the same as a street glide but a fixed fairing. What you said opened my mind to appreciating my shaky older bike , it is awesome and throttle response is snappy enough. Bone stock with a slip on to sound better and stage 1 tune . All I've changed at this point is the windshield, I'll upgrade the radio soon

    I returned to riding mc's in 2007 after a 25 year hiatus. I chose to order a new 2008 FLHTC from my local dealer rather than buy a 2007 model that was in stock because they enlarged the gas tank from 5 gallons to 6. I eventually had true duals installed as well as a hi-flow air cleaner. I didn't like the look of the 2009's as much because of the way the rear cylinder exhaust went under the frame instead of down the left side of the rear jug like yours. I now ride a 2011 FLHTK with a TC 103, and I'm having difficulty sourcing a true dual exhaust for it. My state hs banned them. :(

    • @thedrivewayC3
      @thedrivewayC3  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Glad you can at least enjoy riding. Many states are cracking down on exhaust sound levels. It’s understandable, but at the same time, Harleys are part of American culture.

    The M8 is probably HD last thermal engine. With EU ban on thermal engines in 2030, HD will need a new cruiser EV alternative. Sad but it’s the future.

It took them a few year's and some not so nice commentary from HD enthusiasts to get the "Rushmore M8 series close." I always say Harley owner's are like Porche owner's. True to the core, with a few exceptions to the original design.
