If an old lady see you commit a crime, such as murder, rape, arm robbery, etc. and she tell the authorities, it's not snitching. She's doing a civil duty for her community. Snitching is telling/giving information on a crime to get out of jail or a reduced sentence. A law abiding citizen reporting a crime is not snitching.
