    We tell stories every day. Perhaps not Shakespearean masterpieces but short anecdotes to communicate day-to-day events. Also, it's very useful to know how to tell stories if you're preparing for an English exam in both the writing and speaking papers, and the NARATIVE TENSES are essential in order to express yourself effectively.

    I had learnt English on my own before I attended an English school. Reading books helped me to gain a good vocabulary and consequently to tell a story. The more we read the wiser we become. I really appreciate your videos. Thanks once more!

    On my first day of high school school, l woke up at the crack of dawn and l was ecstatic to make new friends. Once l got there l bumped into my middle school best friend it was so lovely to see her l hadn't seen her for a year so while we were chatting another friend turned up he was one of our old classmates from elementary school "what a pleasant surprise " He said. Then, when lunch time came we decided to reminisce our old school days by going to our favorite italian restaurant down the block and when we got there we ran into our middle school teacher, so we sat down together the four of us and had the time of our life.
    I know it wasn't as interesting as l wanted to be, but it's a real story so l hope you like it. ❤

    I had just watched one of your old videos this afternoon but was looking forward to a new one. I had been waiting for a while and it never seemed to come. So I decided to go out with some friends. As soon as I left home, I received the expected notification, but it wasn't until I got back that I was able to enjoy it. Nice learning with you, Ben. Thank you so much! 🤗

    It's great to see the text with diferent colours for the verb tenses and the arrow to explain verbal tenses is always key. One little thing: you probably meant 'to earn some money' . On the screen it reads 'to earn to money'. All the best.

    Hello Ben, here comes a long message. I passed the CAE! With a grade A. I don't even think I'm that good in English, tbh. Welp, your videos were a vital piece for it as were your recommendations. You recommended Engxam and I assure any exam taker reading this, that that platform is extremely useful for the CAE and similar exams. Thank you for the fancy words, tips, and related. I will most definitely keep watching your videos (like this one) since I'm writing a novel for fun. Thank you!

    Congrats on your work as a Teacher Ben, I first meet you on a podcast with Craig, which was an amazing podcast, and from that moment I've often been watching your videos on youtube. Your English pronunciation is very clear, and your video lessons are enjoyable. There is a lot of different content that fits all student's levels. I should say that your work has been helping a lot of learners around the world. Greetings from South America, Brazil.

    If only I would have stumbled upon this video a few days ago. It would have been so helpful to have all this fixed in my mind today when I started telling one of my classmates about my athletic "history". I felt quite embarrassed by my explanations since I was talking to an exchange student from the U.S.A. However, I still managed to get my idea across. Thank you so much for this video, Ben! Really helpful! I am glad I watched it now! It is never to late.👍 Moreover, I am also preparing for the CAE exam so, since this is my first comment here, I just want you to know how relevant your videos are! Thank you once again! 🙏

    As an English learner, This is kind a video i have been looking for, you know to identifying tenses on story, news or article. I thank you for providing this kind of information. But i want to fully grasp english by learning english stories, therefore, May i ask you is there any other of your videos that could show more? I mean a story that could identify most of the grammar not only past, present and future tense but you know like gerunds, passive voice, if clause etc? Sorry, i think i am asking to much but i should ask anyway just maybe you have what i have been looking for years, thank you Mr. Ben. Sorry for the inconvenience.

This is my so-called preparation to soon CPE exam. Especially after I read last year that the writing part may consist of tasks related to one of this novel

    Hi Ben! Maybe I’m wrong but my impression is that you have a special way of pronouncing the group of consonants ‘str’ in ‘Australia’ 4:54 . I checked ‘Australian’ on several online dictionaries and found out a number of nuances, starting from a distinctive ‘AUSH-tralian’ on the Oxford Learner’s Dictionary all the way down to a softer pronunciation of the same word on other websites. What do you think of this? 😉🍀Thank you so much Ben! 🌸😅

    • @tothepointenglishwithben.
      @tothepointenglishwithben.  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think my pronunciation of Australia is special 🙂 Just standard southern British English. Different accents will have different pronunciations

    Why we can't use past continuous instead of the cases in the text past perfect continuous? I scratch my head, because It is still in past. Because he was older than 18, when he had been working or was working. It is so confusing, help me please
