- A 3-5 day trip on a new river testing for alluvial gold deposits. A massive send into the Tassie bush on the hunt for gold and osmiridium this is one of my most challenging exploration missions. The gold and osmiridium take some finding but we do come home with some finds for our efforts.

Mahalo (thank u) frm the bigisland of Hawaii I enjoyed it adventure in the woods n prospecting I myself take to the mountains n ocean but we DNT have gold we hunt/gather/ n harvest food that is kanaka eats, I would luv to go gold prospecting it's been a dream of mine to do since the first time I saw it on da tv,gold rush, n being a lifetime diver I would luv to go to Nome Alaska or Tasmania again many thanks for ur show it's enjoyable, GodBless n stay safe Aloha
Really appreciate your trip and used to be like you and go on trips. Unfortunatly now disabled so you are my eyes and ears now. The gold is nice but the trips with nature are best

Mate you’ve out done yourself on this one. That was an amazing effort to take yourself and all that heavy gear into the wilderness and then take the time to film the adventure. That was dedication when you woke up at 3 am in the rain to get the raft to higher ground and still grabbed the go pro to film. Looked like a beautiful river and the new raft works a treat. Keep up the great work mate.

That’s prospecting for sure, makes you appreciate the awesome days when gold is aplenty. Beautiful back country there in Tasmania and the adventure is part of the fun. I’m so envious of your wilderness! Back in the 70’s , my wilderness was Baja California. Where we searched and found perfect waves, and secret spot’s. Love your channel Eli. Also your spirit of exploration is insane!! Hopefully you have a Satellite phone for emergencies

The real treasure is the journey. You are having experiences that very few people ever have. I spent a lot of time in the bush in the 70's and now most of those places are either closed off or over run with people who don't respect the place. Thanx for taking us on this journey!
Hey buddy the wild beauty is stunning to me! I've been in most of wild America, including Alaska and I'm captivated.Also there's nothing better than a fresh wild trout over a open fire! I'm 60 and in great shape because of doing exactly what you have been doing! Didn't really have the technology for filming but I have my memories and people like you! Rock on brother!
Brilliant mate 2nd n 3rd nights get me missing the family most but it’s a fleeting thing the bush just kinda absorbs it by keepin you busy especially when a speck turns up my kinda trip right there bro liked the style of this edit too goodonya cheers

Gold is cool but the adventure you take us on is way cooler. You take us on magnificent journeys to places most of us will never get to, sharing a great mix of adventure, joys & success, sometimes physical & mental exhaustion. Keeping it real & sharing emotions sometimes makes us your audience more connected.
Keep up the ace content but do what you love to do because you want to do it.
If you start creating content as a chore to keep numbers up then it’ll show.

What a fun beautiful trip. I wish you would take a buddy or brother along. Don't you ever get scared by yourself out in the wilderness? One slip and a broken leg could be a major problem..please be careful. Because I love watching your videos, and I am sure that your family doesn't want anything to happen to you. It is so beautiful where you are. I can't imagine how crazy cold that water must be. Brrrrrr.
I think because I’m so busy doing my thing and talking to the camera I don’t get to lonely I carry good safety gear it’s not real wise to go alone but I have epirb, gps, first aid and snake bite kit I carry at all times I know that won’t always save someone but all I can do is be well prepared and no my limits. I do feel fairly safe and have become accustomed to life out there now

We understand the loneliness, but love eating beef jerky, or better still frying a large piece of ribeye and stovies, washed down with welcoming hot tea or coffee. That's why they call it prospecting, and now you know. The adventure is half the fun of the trip. I live in western Washington state and the scenery you have definitely compares to it. Love the videos and I can't wait until the snow melts here so I can get back on the riva.

Nice one, good fun trip. Being lode country it could be easy to miss the chunky stuff if it's concentrated in one spot close to where it sheds off the hill.
Great adventure never found much just goes to show you don't strike it all the time keep up the good work

Thanks for bringin us along Levi, looks more like the kind of adventure I'm used to (gold-wise)! Hard to find the right bedrock sometimes, and it's tough hoppin from spot to spot. I gotta admire your dedication, can't wait to see when one of those scouting trips really pays off

In California we find larger deposits when the gorges narrows and get very steep. We use all the other indicators that you are using. Crumbling bedrock is the best gold catch.
I have an unorthodox miner friend who will check the last place you would ever look and successfully find nuggets when she is getting skunked. She may be a gold magnet.
Love your videos for the gold, the spectacular settings and your excitement when you are on a streak. May you find huge nuggets on your next outing!
That’s interesting do you find you have to move big boulders and overburden or is the gold more in the cracks and crevices along edges etc?
@@officialtassieboysprospecting it’s always a mix. I’m willing to move large boulders (as much as possible) but what we look for is high sides of exposed bedrock on the hillside with the degraded bedrock cracks running perpendicular to the water flow in the actual water. It’s the perfect river riffle that traps the largest gold pockets. I have also seen people pull a quarter ounce of placer flakes out of moss on bedrock. They rinse the bottom of the chunks of moss in a bucket and pan the material. Love your videos and hope this helped a bit! Cheers!
@@officialtassieboysprospecting Most of the bedrock I saw in this video was running parallel to the river which is 90 degrees from the ideal direction. However, any crack with hard packed gravel should have yielded some gold unless this river was never very rich in the first place. The coarsest gold may be able to drop out in the gut of the river where smaller pieces will get blown through.

Yes I’d like to do a trip like this just medal detecting Minelab might be sending an SDC which will be waterproof and I can combine the two 👍🏼
@@officialtassieboysprospecting Wow, a comp? I'd use it on a river where you've found coarser gold than you recovered in this river. On land I've found bits as small as 0.1g with my SDC. Don't have waterproof headphones for it though.

I gotta say Levi you gave that river a whole lot more mileage than I would have. With next-to-zero washdown at early dips with the geology the way it is I wouldn't expect any difference 8 miles upstream. However, since this is channel documentation as well you kinda do have to show the bad along with the good in order to impress upon the armchair prospectors out here it isn't always unicorns, rainbows and a pot of gold at the end. More the reality is red ink at the end, speaking of pen tips. Keep on keepin' on!
