The sad part is that the only way to really get an idea of how incredible of a vocalist jungkook is…. Is to hear all his covers… English and Korean… bc he’s so limited in BTS music. The insane variety of what jungkook can do is so under appreciated bc ppl who aren’t reactors or jk biases don’t care to listen to them… or if you hear his singing on vlive… bc hearing what he can do live and raw is exceptional.
You should check out his more recent vlive bc he sang my you, still with you, that that ( and his rapping is so fire in it) run BTS, super tuna and then he did like 4-5 Korean ballads that left most of us speechless… the crazy high belting notes… his lower register.. his runs and the variation of sounds that he’s using through the entire thing is honestly unreal. Jungkooks got one of the most beautiful belts I’ve ever heard… but he doesn’t get to show that off in bts music.

Jungkook did a performance on “hidden singer” and he did “if you” by Big Bang and it’s one of the prettiest varieties of his live vocals there and his gorgeous strong and powerful belt… is gorgeous… also ida s has a video “jungkook king of acapella” video that has some other examples as well.

JK singing this song on repeat is my sleeping pill. JK did not change much how this song was originally sung but my gosh, JK's intrepretation and emotion that is put on this cover just made it a whole lot different and of course JK's beautiful tone/voice added to the magic.
I seriously shed a few tears when I first heard this cover of Jungkook. It really touched me
I hadn't heard it before either until Jungkook posted this. I cried the first 3 or 4 times I heard it, because I felt like JK was going through something. Eventually, I did go listen to Harry Styles' original. It is great too, but I'll describe it as Harry sings it more powerfully, whereas Jungkook brings the emotion to the song. I prefer the latter, but very thankful that Harry Styles wrote this, so that Jungkook could find it and do this beautiful cover. Also, when BTS were in LA last year, 4 of them (J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) went to Harry Styles' concert and some fans took pics and videos of them. They were clearly singing along to this particular song.
I am, of course, Army, and have been for seven years, and I will love them until I am in the grave…But I am also something of a Styler, and I have loved this song since Harry sang it live at the Brits a few years ago. So I was a little uneasy when I learned that Jungkook covered it - because I really do love the original, and I love Jungkook, I wanted no conflict over which one to prefer. After an uneasy moment, I decided to trust Jungkook’s artistry - and oh my goodness, this man IS an artist!! Such a beautiful cover, his voice is beautiful, his tone is rich, and he sings with depth and emotion. I still love Harry’s version, but Jungkook’s is the one I play all the time (for those who don’t know the original, JK didn’t change it much, he stuck pretty close to how Harry wrote it, the major difference - obviously, sorry - is his beautiful voice). Sorry Harry (not sorry 🙈🤷♂️).
