Thanks! I was uploading inconsistently for a while, so that’s probably why, but my subscribers have just about doubled recently. Now I’m doing a new video every Saturday and a new shirt every day.
I’ve got two playlists like that: Hands-Free Ear Training th-cam.com/play/PL40pFkWbVtdlAY_g71Pf9RBy97mqXpQHK.html th-cam.com/play/PL40pFkWbVtdk0NVhK5V8dWM2W_-aXY918.html&si=PUnFg6GqIodA9vY9
Hi! Your videos are amazing. What would you suggest, should I first completely focus on intervals before moving on to other stuff? Do I have to have them nailed down? Or can I also focus on other stuff?
Just about everything in music relates to everything else, so I wouldn’t get stuck on intervals for too long. Work on other things like sight singing and chord progressions but keep circling back to intervals every now and then.
Here at "Big Dan's Spider Farm" we've been grooming the finest specimen of jumping spiders. They are tuned to jump an octave, and also a fifth if you pull off a few of their fuzzy legs.
I want you to know. I was diagnosed with ADHD, OCD, and other comorbidities at the age of 35. I got my BA in Music at 23. I bombed my senior recital and lost a lot of opportunities due to me believing I was dumb or didn't have work ethic. Plus how ADHD looks to other people I lost out due to my consistency issues. Theory was easy, but Ear Training was so hard due to me not knowing what was wrong. I passed by forcing a piano in my face at the time. Our teacher was terrible. Mostly learned ear training in private lessons. I'm in the middle of getting over imposter syndrome and obsessive compulsive thought. Thank you for putting this out here for the internet. It jogs my memory. I feel like less of a charlatan everytime I go through your stuff. Aw man.
I’m so glad you’re finding success with my lessons! I say this as a teacher- I think a lot of schools and colleges have been molded to ensure the success of certain types of thinkers. I personally found it extremely difficult to stay motivated to do things I didn’t find interesting or wasn’t immediately good at. Possibly the only good side to this is that people who think differently can sometimes leverage this to be more successful than the average person at something. I tend to hyper fixate on things and have a hard time switching tasks. On one hand, this can mean that I can get overwhelmed if I have a big, diverse to-do-list. On the other hand, hyper fixation is probably the reason I have a TH-cam channel or am able to tackle difficult pieces of music. It’s not always easy to keep from this becoming negative though, because I can easily lose a month of my life to a video game or convincing myself I’m about to have a heart attack. Best of luck to you!

I was wondering if you could remove my spleen for me for free so you can practice so I don’t have to pay the doctors since you’re an amateur surgeon. I could pay you probably about $500.

Love your sense of humor.....amateur surgeon?!? 😂 ❤
I’ve stopped practicing recently. Never quite got the hang of it.
2:00 octave or 8th example
You are funny. I hope to learn a lot here.
there should be a series on recognizing individual pitches
Hahahaha jjust came across this. Love the comedic contrast of your "straight" voice and the side comments and little ditties.
Do I use dry humor, or am I seriously unhinged and feared by my students? Who knows?
@@joeluegersmusicacademy
Love dry humor. It's on tge listener to get it (or not) unlike a joke that is spoonfed.

All according to plan.
What do u mean by amateur surgeon? Whom do u do the surgery
Just a joke. That third qualification changes in each lesson to something more and more ridiculous
@@joeluegersmusicacademy epic
@@OneStepToday however, if you know anyone needing a surgery at a fraction of the typical cost, I would be happy to give it my best shot.
@@joeluegersmusicacademy you should make it your permanent part time job. 💀☠️😆
❤❤❤❤
So THIS is what it would be like to have Toby Fox as a music teacher
Despite everything, it’s still unison.
@@joeluegersmusicacademy *ok, that was good.
I jut learned that I sang the Star Wars theme as an octave and Somewhere over the rainbow as a P5th my whole life. Cool beans.

And repeat before u have learned all the answers.
Tracheotomy wasn’t as successful as interval training! Thanks

Sure! If the surgery goes horribly wrong, I’ll give you half off.
Most useless thing is to learn intervals !!! If You have just one note how does it help You?
Happy to offer a full refund.
You should delete this comment, because it makes you look dumb.
