I bought Dave's self titled album with this version shortly after it came out - yeah I'm a 70s rocker - and always loved Dave's playing and this version of Watchtower Dave is a very underrated and under noticed player; he has a lot of songs that would make great tutorials 1) Only You Know and I Know - his most famous song that has been covered by many- has a very tricky strumming pattern 2) Dear Mr Fantasy - great 70s Rick tune 3) On his album Mariposa De Oro, he did a great cover of the Shirelles song Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow. That would make a great tutorial with a full breakdown of his solo. Many others in his catalog would be great lessons
Hey dude, I can only assume you stopped playing thru your songs at the beginning of your lessons because metrics showed people clicked off after that or something...? And I get that. But man, from the perspective of actually trying to learn these songs, it is so so so much worse not having the audio and visual reference of you fully playing through what you're about to teach us. TH-cam metrics ruins everything. Still love you Jon.
Where does the guy in the video say anything about reading music? Are you suggesting Dave Mason doesn't know the names of the chords he plays, or how to count a simple rhythm, or what the pentatonic scale is? Because he sure as sh*t knows all those things whether he reads music or not.
