    I am glad to have found your videos. My daughter is 19, been riding 13 years showing 4. We leased and last year finally pulled the plug and found her "dream horse". And boy is he ever a dream. 4 year old gelding went to Appaloosa Worlds in July and left with a National title and 3 world titles in his 1st year showing. All that aside, my daughter gets frustrated trying to explain horse judging and technique to me. Your videos are a great help! I would love to give a shout to his EXCELLENT breeder ( and extremely kind) breeder, but don't know if you allow those things in comments! Don't want to get scolded in my first comment🤐

      Thank you for the kind comment...
      Of course give out a shout out to the breeder. No problems here!
      It would hold more water however, if your name were associated with the comment rather than "anonymous".
      It is interesting that no matter what discipline you are in, in your case Appaloosa, there is value in the videos.
      Thanks again. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and to comment.
      So happy that your daughter has been successful with her horse.

      @@LauraKellandMay I would like to change my screen name, but try as I might it just doesn't budge. It arbitrarily assigned it and glitched me a few months back! Soooo...sigh. My name is Danielle Hinkle and the lovely lady is Ms. Gale Gores of Wisconsin who is the breeder and sold us Designed To Be Red. Sire is Artfully Designed. By the way your voice is so soothing. A joy to listen!

    Great tips! Thank you. What is the difference between what a judge is looking for in the Hunter under Saddle class and the equitation flat phrase?

    • @LauraKellandMay
      @LauraKellandMay  6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Get idea for a video.
      Generally speaking a hunter under saddle is all about the horse. The nicest mover should win the class - so to speak.
      The Equitation, however, is all about the rider! so the nicest RIDER should win the class.
      We can get in to specifics later.
      As always thanks for the comments :) 🐎🐴🏇🏇🐴

    can you explain he diffrence between hunter poles and equitation pole i need help fast!

    • @LauraKellandMay
      @LauraKellandMay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I haven't heard of hunter poles or equitation poles.
      Firstly, look at the class description. It may have some insight into what you have to do.
      2nd - ask your coach/trainer/instructor
      3rd -Equitation is on the rider and the rider's position. This means the rider will be judged. Head up, heels, correct diagonal and lead. That sort of thing.
      HUNTER is judged on the HORSE- This means the horse's movement, their style and performance. if it has a bad jump/pole or trips over a pole or rushes or refuses it would count against them.
      Let us know how you did!🏇😀🐴🐎

    • @LauraKellandMay
      @LauraKellandMay  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes.
      This is a loaded question.!
      Before doing anything else, check the for of your equipment and especially your saddle. Getting your horses head down will take more than one ride.

    how do you know if your horse is fancy or not? or do you have a video on that yet?

    • @LauraKellandMay
      @LauraKellandMay  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      what a great question.
      I think this is a personal thing. And to me fancy means that it has a good performance, good form over fences and then the icing on the cake is having some "chrome", You know, stockings and a blaze. Something that shows everything off.
      You can have a really pretty horse but if jumps badly or bucks or refuses... it really can't win.🐴❤❤

    So a horse bucking is bad manners and not pain, issues or even a bea sting, it's manners. Ok. God Americans 😂
