They texted again saying something like, "So, I guess this doesn't work?" Lol sorry bud the concept of a random stranger having my phone number is not appealing
Just reply, say “I’m not interested in the trend, sorry.” They’ll usually be polite, leave, something friendly. If not, block them. If they still don’t stop put their numbrees on the web and accuse them.
I do really like this trend. Actually I do text frequently with my number neighbour. I'd even go as far and call him one of my best friends. The fact that my brother is my number neighbour is also worth mentioning.
I'm sad how so many people are so aggressive about these kinds of experiments. I love to chat with random people as long as they don't have any evil intentions.
Nine times out of ten, getting weird phone calls from strangers is a prelude to some kind of scam. Even if that doesn't turn out to be the case; not everyone is a social butterfly, and most of use deal with enough intrusive assholes in our daily lives that we don't need them calling us in our offtime.
I think the worst horror story I’ve heard of this trend was one woman who texted her number neighbor and he somehow was able to get her address (especially since because of area codes number neighbors also live close by) and started sending her pictures of weapons and saying he was coming to kill her
The Text-Door Neighbor is a nightmare thing. You do have to understand that contacting someone via similar number doesn't sound good either. Legitimately you can sound like a kidnapper or even a child predator. Imagine an adult calling a child. "I'm your neighbor." Scaring the other person away is generally in your own interest for safety.
@@Buglin_Burger7878 dude wtf. There's a difference between calling someone with I'm your neighbor, and sending a text explaining what a number neighbor is and trying to be friendly
Okay guys, I get it I get it I was an uneducated fool, but hey incase any of u wanna start tracking people.. the replies to my comment are a great start! But HOW did he find her address? There is no way to do that unless you're REALLY advanced and knowledgeable in the tech world. Even then, those types of people probably already know what a number neighbour is, why tf would they get their shit scrambled over it? Also how do we know those guns are theirs? What was the conversation that led to it? Too many questions, it doesn't make sense.
I had someone text me as my number neighbor, at a time where I felt extremely lonely. So I was very happy to have someone to talk to. But I think I scared them off 😅
For the Hebrew: the only thing right about the pronunciation was the first word “אני” but honestly the fact that you tried was amazing because a lot of others would just play an audio or do even less. Hebrew is also very difficult (lots of silent letters that only make sounds when other symbols are added but in most Hebrew writing the symbols aren’t there)
I accidentally met both my number neighbors and the ones close to us through a spam message group formed by a random number. They all were super nice and helpful, explaining the situation and what happened. Unfortunately we all had to block each other due to the situation but it was a nice experience.

My number neighbour sells puppies on Kijiji (It’s like a Canadian Craigslist). I know this because they accidentally put my number instead of theirs twice and I kept getting calls and texts about available lab puppies. At least once I got called while I was in the middle of class. They did this twice and my dad and I (he had a Kijiji) had to message them to change their number and they did. In the two years since I’ve only gotten one call about puppies but the caller made the typo, not my number neighbour. Still have their profile saved in case it happens again though.
My phone number is one digit different (think mixing up a 6 for a 0) from a bed shop, so I've occasionally had calls from people who wrote the number down wrong. The funny part is that they always ask 'are you sure?' when I tell them I'm not the bed shop! As if I'll suddenly go 'Oh you're right! I wondered why there were so many beds in my house!!"
I think this would be funny to try out sometime just to see people's reactions if my number neighbor wouldn't be my dad. However it's hilarious to see our phone numbers get mixed up sometimes due to them being the same apart from the last digit.
