I have been an Eagles fan since 1979 and I have seen this team go through a lot of things. This team plays with no passion or fire whatsoever, and that falls directly on the head coach. Nick Sirianni has lost this team and I don't know if he can fix it right now. Whatever the problem was at the end of last year, is still there. Jalen Hurts needs to sit or go see a sports psychologist because something is not right with him. As for the defense, we are stuck! Howie's decision to bring in Bryce Huff and Devin White have backfired. Also, will someone please tell me why Darius Slay is still starting at corner; he is no longer a shut-down DB! Though we stand at 2-2, it could be worse. Philadelphia is still a playoff team but the Eagles are not a Super Bowl contender right now.
I can't say that White is a bad move but Huff is. I agree with everything else you said. Nick is not it. He hasn't been it since Shane and Gannon. The lost of those two made us see the real Nick. Hurts only works well in a west coast scheme.
Why doesn't this team throw short passes or run jet sweeps like every other team does? Hurts is lacking pocket awareness and maybe should just hand it off. Phonies are starting to appear!

They stop the motion first quarter, they never line up under center like they advertised they would do when Kellen was hired, always in the shotgun like last season... It's not hard for the defense to gameplay for that formation when you do the exact same RPo bullcrap each time. Hurt never hot routes out of blitz looks. And they knew that's what Bowles was going to do... It's all the way weird

My question is, Does Nick trying to mix his offense into the game plan, mucking up Kellen Moore's game plan and that is messing up Hurts abilities? Somehow, I feel Nick is a big part of the problem. I had way lower expectations going into this year just because of all the new pieces so I am way less stressed out over this bad team. The defense is just plain wack and is missing Hassan Reddick for sure.

The reading defenses is his only weakness in my opinion... He has a decent arm when he's not looking to scramble and run... Legs are Kool.. but not if you can't read defense and make the throws

Not only is the comparison fair between Wentz and Hurts... its nearly mirrored. Both, after losing in a super bowl, and watching your back up win a super bowl, seemed to have developed a "I have to be the one to make this offense go" mentality, both hold the ball entirely too long, both can't read defenses and understand coverages that they're throwing into, both look to push the ball down the field for the big play when there's routes open underneath that would easily gain 5-6 yards a shot, neither had the mentality of two 5 yard passes is a first down/one 40 yard incompletion is second and 10... ball security has been/is WELL BELOW subpar the fumbles are ESPECIALLY disappointing as they're directly on the QB with no one else to blame, there's no tips or routes that weren't run correctly to put the blame elsewhere or at least share the blame and it's a direct result from holding the ball too long looking for those deep plays and/or not knowing how to read the defenses being play against, the game against Tampa CLEARLY showed those flaws... at present Jalen seems a bit more coachable than Wentz was, but the coaching still seems to not be setting in at this point, and as far along as he is in his career it seems like it just won't happen at this point. Jalen has done nothing but show he cannot win big games (Pulled in TWO national championship games, lost a super bowl), all of those faults being against Jalen, the biggest fault is beyond his control, and that's allowing Nick Sirianni to have a job.
I don't like Jalen's hesitancy to trust his backup wideouts. With Kellen I thought we would get off to quicker starts. Jalen refuses to pull the trigger and trust the receivers to get YAC and it gets him in trouble. I read about Vic Fangio practicing the defense hard, but they have up games and down games, no consistency. The Birds need to use this bye week to look at film and if there are starters still out the next man up needs to be trusted, give him/them a chance.

Jalen Hurts is not the guy. Last season he led the league in turnovers. This year after 4 weeks he is right back leading the league in turnovers Again. It’s not something he has to work on, or small mistakes, it’s who He is.

Don’t compare 2020 Wentz to Hurts. Carson never had an AJ, Smitty, Dotson, Or Saquon as offensive options. Not even Alshon Jeffrey was at this level of talent. Take away the SB season Wentz with talent equivalent to items from a garage sale lead the Eagles to the Playoffs. Greg Ward was his best WR, Nate Gerry was a starting LB, just to paint a picture of how pisspoor the supporting cast was. Wentz still managed to throw for over 4000 yards and throw for 30 plus tds and less then 10 ints in those seasons outside rookie year and 2020. But you probably were in 8th grade to completely understand how poor that team was. Wentz was a very good QB. Let's not forget that he got us the first seed in the NFC Championship, in the game where he tore his ACL and MCL. His entire career was marred by injuries. The D line can't get pressure if the corners play ten yards off the receivers. The scheme is flawed. We didn't make any defensive adjustments. At some point we may need to use 5 down lineman to try to get Jalen Carter in one on one situations. Offensively we need to use more slants and throws to the middle of the field. The Eagles should run their offense from the inside out. We have 3 good backs and Kellen Moore has to use them.
Devin white should be starting, I can understand his frustration. He watched dean miss tackle after tackle after tackle. I counted 5 in the last game and at least 3 in each of the previous 3 games. What good is being in the right place if youre not gonna make a play. Start white, trade huff and the third for Reddick and most of our problems will be solved. The offense had zero yards in over a 1/4. The defense was on the field for almost the entirety of the first half in over 100° heat index on field.

My question is, Does Nick trying to mix his offense into the game plan, mucking up Kellen Moore's game plan and that is messing up Hurts abilities? Somehow, I feel Nick is a big part of the problem. I had way lower expectations going into this year just because of all the new pieces so I am way less stressed out over this bad team. The defense is just plain wack and is missing Hassan Reddick for sure.

Not only is the comparison fair between Wentz and Hurts... its nearly mirrored. Both, after losing in a super bowl, and watching your back up win a super bowl, seemed to have developed a "I have to be the one to make this offense go" mentality, both hold the ball entirely too long, both can't read defenses and understand coverages that they're throwing into, both look to push the ball down the field for the big play when there's routes open underneath that would easily gain 5-6 yards a shot, neither had the mentality of two 5 yard passes is a first down/one 40 yard incompletion is second and 10... ball security has been/is WELL BELOW subpar the fumbles are ESPECIALLY disappointing as they're directly on the QB with no one else to blame, there's no tips or routes that weren't run correctly to put the blame elsewhere or at least share the blame and it's a direct result from holding the ball too long looking for those deep plays and/or not knowing how to read the defenses being play against, the game against Tampa CLEARLY showed those flaws... at present Jalen seems a bit more coachable than Wentz was, but the coaching still seems to not be setting in at this point, and as far along as he is in his career it seems like it just won't happen at this point. Jalen has done nothing but show he cannot win big games (Pulled in TWO national championship games, lost a super bowl), all of those faults being against Jalen, the biggest fault is beyond his control, and that's allowing Nick Sirianni to have a job.
I don't like Jalen's hesitancy to trust his backup wideouts. With Kellen I thought we would get off to quicker starts. Jalen refuses to pull the trigger and trust the receivers to get YAC and it gets him in trouble. I read about Vic Fangio practicing the defense hard, but they have up games and down games, no consistency. The Birds need to use this bye week to look at film and if there are starters still out the next man up needs to be trusted, give him/them a chance.

The D line can't get pressure if the corners play ten yards off the receivers. The scheme is flawed. We didn't make any defensive adjustments. At some point we may need to use 5 down lineman to try to get Jalen Carter in one on one situations. Offensively we need to use more slants and throws to the middle of the field. The Eagles should run their offense from the inside out. We have 3 good backs and Kellen Moore has to use them.
