Gorgeous bag, so glad you will repair it! I need to find someone like you in Dallas (TX, US) to Frankenstein a couple of bags. I had one done in Atlanta after my dog scratched a calf hair bag and the result was lovely. But haven’t found anyone I trust here and I have some nice bags but with flimsy handles that need new handles.
Richemont used to be in the cigarette game before they switched into luxury brands. They brought that same respect for the customer to their new acquisitions. Panerai, IWC, JLC Montblanc are brands that have been massively diminished (while upping the prices) under their stewardship. So far, ALS seems to have gotten away from their cost cutting.
Disappointing, especially as they increased the prices significantly on this collections release. Appreciate these videos, it’s the only way to hold brands like MB to account
Is it reversible??? I like the blue side too 😂😂😂 Just joking but love this new approach to the bags 😍Is it reversible??? I like the blue side too 😂😂😂 Just joking but love this new approach to the bags 😍
U had asked once what to make with the green Hermes-like leather. You can make everything! Like a full set starting from keychain, pouch, bag, wallet etc for a coordinated look for both men and women. 🙂
Would love to see a review of their Extreme 3.0 products. I own the M buckle backpack due to the design and would like to see if it is indeed a quality product.
I have loved Mont Blanc since childhood, my gran had a pen and allowed me to write with it often, So, viewing this video I was astounded seeing you dismantling it. (almost got a heart attack) However, I would LOVE to see the end result of putting it back together again. Where can I find the restoration video, please?
@@tanner.leathersteinThat’s so frustrating! Do they really not know (how much education does a brand provide?) or are they being duplicitous to make a sale? Argh.
I used to sell MB in the Middle East, the brand training used to say the inner was canvas or leather I never heard the word PU never ever in any training.... 90% of the customers buy MB just because of the MB emblem ( for the status) ..their pens are good yet they are made of acrylic they call it resin.
@doitforgood1105 My pleasure , there is for sure ...I personally won't blame the salesperson.... what I am saying may sound strange but being even very transparent with customers who buys such brands is useless...I had conversations with few MB users after I quit working for them ....the margins are very high and nothing justify the prices not the material used not the labour involved.. my opinion that most of high end brands buyer does really pay for social status that the item gives them ..Not the quality.
I know people drag Louis Vuitton for being coated canvas. But real coated canvas is very durable and will last a lifetime. It doesn’t tear or look cheap like this lining does.
Hi there! Could you please make Suzan Szatmary and Aspinaf of London? Aspinaf of London says it is full-grain leather, their style is great for corporate workers as me, Suzan Szatmary has a great/chic/elegan style.
I love your videos and how you show us what we are buying. Just wondering...what do you do with them after? Put em back together? Do any of these Brands contact you after youve taken apart the item they made?
@@tanner.leatherstein problem is that their Meisterstück pen is already in the upper $300s, so the bag has to be more marked up. Also just a halo effect to drive product categories, bleed over marketing
@@tanner.leatherstein that is cool! I can’t wait to see you Frankenstein it together. Since my partner’s special interest is pens they can break down the reason why the pens are overpriced similar to how you do with leather items. (And how it’s changed from vintage vs modern)
Was directed to this video from another member of the fountain pen community. Modern Montblanc is known as a status symbol. You’re better off throwing your pen away than sending it to their repair services (but please don’t OTHER good repairmen exist) and they are dually awful for pen vendors to work with.
Went through my Montblanc pen phase (to sign closing documents in the old days)….like most luxury brands, the deterioration over the last 10-15 years is sobering.
Very disappointed in the lining material when Montblanc owns the manufacturing and, while yes I typically associate them with being overpriced, I also associate them with being good, just not as good as the price, in this case the lining is just cheap.
I do like watch you vid and it's a good information to me so next time if I want to buy a bags handbag or something like that I'll remember things I watch in your YT channel but I hope you can do to KICKERS product next time. Thank you
Doubt it. It’s coated canvas which is the same as the LV stuff. That stuff can last years before cracking or peeling. This a good bag. Montblanc makes quality leather products. They just over charge like every other luxury brand.
now you are going after Montblanc. I trust them with pens (like the iconic Meisterstück) ...but leather goods....nope! False advertising from Montblanc...big NONO! Please do a piece on Burberry as well. I bet, same outcome
Love how you didn’t just cut a straight hole through the bag. That part always gets me

Should sue the brand/store. Sold under false pretences.
I can't wait for the Frankenstein project!

Montblanc is owned by Richemont who also owns Chloe. This bag is probably made at the same place that Chloe makes their bags.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! Do a video on the Valentino Garavani Rockstud Spike bag in soft lambskin nappa with chain (medium size).
You should do Cartier bags/ document-laptop cases, etc.
I am in shock at the things I've discovered through your channel

I know your creation will be exquisite. There companies should not be allowed to deceive customers.
Looking forward to seeing the reassembly of this bag 💼 ❤
Thank you for the review. Lately luxury items are trying to sell just the name. Why buy luxury if it’s not quality?
Amen !
Exactly. The younger generation doesn't seem to even realize that quality was once the draw for pricier items.
