Hulk, Panther, and Widow seem to be the most popular picks for the next video, so which one do you want to see next? Or maybe someone else? Let me know! Uhhh, I meant for this to come out at noon, not midnight🤦
Thor's starter costume looks like there was an emergency while his real costume was at the dry cleaner's, so he had to make one out of random crap he had lying around
Thor's a weird case where it's both a name and a title. Like, yes, his name is Thor Odinson, but Thor in universe is treated like a mantle, with many people, Jane, Erik Masterson, I think a few others, taking up the title of Thor as a superhero name, while keeping their birth name as their secret identity. They could've called Jane Thordis as a nod to that oddly prophetic What If? issue, but I personally never liked that name.
@@Jiub_SNI think the worst case of that is with Amadeus Cho. He was a smart kid who could've been his own hero but instead got turned into Hulk 2. At least in that one show he adorned the mantle of Iron-Spider and filled the role of their tech head.
Personally.... I think Ultimate Thor having gauntlets makes sense. Since in the myths the thing that allowed Thor to even hold his hammer was a pair of gauntlets. The hammer, the belt, and gauntlets are all part of a set that give Thor's his powers. And in a storyline where the twist is that his powers are being granted to him by tech mirroring those items.... it's kinda weird that his design dropped one of them.
I can understand that viewpoint, but I still disagree with it. This is a long one: The word "gauntlets" as I used it here is technically incorrect. Gauntlets are a type of armored glove that covers the hands and wrist. What I refer to as "gauntlets" in the video are really bracers, that only cover the wrist and forearm area. In Norse mythology, Thor's Járngreipr are described as iron gloves. So they fit the traditional definition of gauntlets, but they are not the same as the bracers Ultimate Thor has. So I'm assuming maybe the artists/writers originally put the bracers on him to stick closer to the myth as you said, but eventually changed their minds. Maybe they thought having the gloves was enough, and that the added metal bracers was going a bit too far? Maybe they wanted to make him look more different than the normal version of Thor, since the bracers would be too similar to classic Thor's wristband things? Idk. But I do think it looks better without them. The design's simpler and more "clean," and I think the bracers do make it a bit too obvious that his whole deal is mechanical.
@@DoritoGOD2811 Oh I'm with you 100% that it looks better without the braces. For the exact reasons as you. I just find the logic behind them to make sense. I find the process of character design super interesting and would love to know what happen behind the scenes. Because CLEARLY it was a very early change to not make it into the comic but but considered for long enough to make it to the cover. I think you are up to something with your theory that maybe it made it too obvious that he was being powered by the tech.
I have a unique take (I think) on casual clothing in superhero media. The problem with them isn't that it's casual clothing, it's that they abandon too much of the superhero in questions iconography, making it boring. For example, while I'm not a big fan of the cut he's rocking, Daredevils red and black suit was a great example of how to do this right. Hell, most of Daredevils modern comic normal attire is what I think works best. It keeps his iconography while looking like something you could fashionably wear. Yeah, it's pushing believability a bit, but I think that's a worthy (pun unintended) trade-off for making their casual clothing appealing
Yeah I do think that's part of it. For example, if Thor's beanie and hoodie suits had a big belt buckle with a big T like the classic Thor belt, or if they had something resembling the circles on his chest, or if they had Nordic runes printed on them, or if his beanie had wings stitched onto the side, or anything like that then they probably would have looked better. But I also think that it comes back to the body type. If Thor was shredded and huge, then it would be kinda funny seeing his super-built physique in normal clothes. But since he's built like a normal guy, and he's wearing the clothes of a normal guy, he ends up looking like just a normal guy.
Ya know what I 100% agree. Look at the bugle boy outfit for spidey. It does look like casual attire (granted from the 60s) that someone would wear but still has the red white and blue iconography that goes with spidey.
@@DoritoGOD2811 For some reason I just love the idea of Thor in casual wear so I liked most of the ones on offer well enough. There's a certain charm to it. But yeah that charm could be better with those kinds of details, and soooo much better if Thor had a somewhat exaggerated, godly physique. Him and Steve are far too small in this game. It's a video game, they're not living breathing actors, so exaggerate a little! Hell, make them look like RE5 Chris Redfield.

this video more than your other ones makes me really wish this game just had a different art style. Like you said the realistic movie costumes are the only good ones
I love the way you analyze and explain how the artystyle isn't done well in service of the character, like when you mention the straps and buckles with Thor and how his suit looks cheap and blocky, when he should look regal and godly and otherworldly, exactly as you said it is so true. Art style is one of the most important factors in a game, so important not to screw this up Excellent video
The All-Weapon on Jane's Valkyrie costume is actually just taken from her Ultimate Heroic, where she throws out Mjolnir before switching to the All-Weapon.
Now that you pointed it out, I feel like the name "The Mighty Jane Foster!" is way more empowering since she wouldn't be stealing a guy's name. I actually think that title has a nice ring to it and it's a shame the movies and game didn't use that as her superhero name.
Jane took the name Thor because, at the time, Thor wasn't "Thor." He was Odinson. He didn't think he was worthy of the name "Thor." "Thor" was a symbol of power, of hope, of worthiness. And Odinson was not that at the time. So, he gave his name to Jane, who at first refused, but Odinson insisted.
I’ll be honest I think the best suits in this game are always the ones that are more kin to their classic designs than the overdesigned and super techy stuff that just looks cheap
The later, premium costumes that they took directly from the comics are miles above the outfits in the earlier days of the game's release. Compare the Hawkeye Modern and Retro costumes with the ones that are original in the game.
Something I think really makes Jane look good is that her physique actually looks amazonian, she looks a lot taller and stronger than the MCU Jane, while Thor looks pretty much the same and a video game should allow for more heroic proportions, when your video game super hero looks smaller than most bodybuilders it's kinda hard to sell the idea of super human strenght.
Sorry, lots of comments on this but another reason they kept the sleeves off of Dark World Thor is because he essentially wore the same suit in Age of Ultron (but the circles and chest piece were the usual gray and silver instead of gold) and in that film hes completely sleeveless so its essentially 2 movie suits in 1 i guess?
I'd say the Absorbing Man moment is probably the worst bit in that comic but when Jason Aaron stops trying to be le epic feminism (which is something I don't think he's ever been good at) the rest of the comic is a really great story about grief, death, sacrifice. It's got pathos, it's got quiet reflective moments, it's got a cool Malekith/Roxxon team up, I genuinely think that run is severely underrated and wasn't done justice in the movie In short I think Jane slaps and all her costumes in this game are 10s
i forgot how much i hated Janes "Thor" shit, like no shes not Thor at all and the fact they keep repeating the same bullshit how "Thor is always unworthy" is just ass
Might be the first time I've ever heard a Marvel nerd say a girls backside is nice to look at and have it be intended and come off in a non-creepy way. 27:03 Also speaks volumes that they make Thor's outfit 'more regal' and Jane's 'more fierce', only to have the literal dead opposite effect and she looks more regal. These devs couldn't pour water out of a boot with instructions on the heel.
Thor's scales at 4:45 with the 'holes' you point out are likely meant to be riveted, non-overlapping plate. The hole itself shows a point of attachment onto the fabric beneath.
Man I really don’t get why the devs put that much effort to make all these Avengers federation skins for ALL characters possible even tho they lacked tons of better suits and were also lazier in other recolors that were based on much more iconic suits.
30:41 makes me wonder if the more successful approach for CD would have been quality over quantity. Give each hero 4-5 high quality costumes, ranging from comics to movies, all genuinely well executed, so that way everyone is bound to have at least one favorite.
Jane Thor has a really interesting twist to her that makes her a unique hero. That one bit is like the only part of her comic run that’s really like that. It’s worth a read if you like Thor stories (love and Thunder does an alright job adapting her story but it could’ve been much stronger)
The twist is her cancer and how being in her Thor form erases her chemo and slowly kills her. It’s an interesting dynamic. She’s much more interesting in practice than her story sounds at first glance.

Yo real talk if you can get past Jane being Thor her comic run is actually really good with pretty good art and writing by Jason Aaron. She does suck in the movie tho
As a Herald of Thunder fan, the Cosmic Herald skin really doesn't do it for me and I think that Fortnite adapted the costume way better. The top of the cape should start narrower so that it doesn't jut out over the shoulder pads, that white strip on the cape going over his right shoulder should continue at a similar angle to the vertical line up his torso as opposed to the diagonal line since that's how you write the Nordic rune (ᚦ), and the short hair really is a deal breaker for me given how elegant it looks in the comics, flowing down his back like a perfectly conditioned mane. I think it's the elegant sleekness that's really lost with this adaptation.
It’s speaks volumes to the lack of creativity when the only decent outfits are the ones designed by people not involved with this game (mcu suits) and yet they still somehow find ways to fuck them up sometimes like the original thor suit from his first movie
@@DoritoGOD2811 really? I'm not a big comic reader but from the pictures you showed it looked silver/white to me. But yeah if they are actually that color I see what your saying
I’m a huge fan of Jane Foster Thor and the outfits she has in this game are amazing. Especially the adaption of the classic Mighty Thor outfit. Even her iconic suit is great which I can’t say for every character in the game.
At least these videos are showing why hawkeye has some of the best suits, especially the ones based of fractions original hawkeye run (minus the bird hybrid one)
@@DoritoGOD2811 as long you have good things to say about the Matt fraction based suits, I’m sure it’ll be fine (I’ll agree the iconic suit is nearly perfect minus the shaved head)
@@Montesama314 the suits based on fractions run are top tier along with the counter earth, the modern suit based on the secret avengers suit, a very good classic suit inspired design, and a medieval Hawkeye with a poncho (I’m sorry but square Enix did not do the retro suit justice)
The Ultimate Thor suit should've definitely came with the ultimate mjolnir, its the same size as regualr mjolnir and they could have easily put it in and then added it for the Unworthy suit (since that whole story was about 616 Thor looking for the 1610 hammer). They really didnt even need to change the animations, it was still 1 handed and he uses it mostly as a hammer
The suit Thor wears in the last frame of Love and Thunder actually looks good. It’s kinda weird how in the MCU, Thor downgrades his suit after the first Avengers, and kinda stayed that way till Infinity War. Still think the suit from the first movie is bar none his best look.
I actually enjoy this game but there is alot of things I dislike they had so much potential for an avengers game I don't know what went wrong in the production of this game but it coo
I feel like any form of a recolor should've been removed from this list. I get they still count as cosmetics. But I'd hardly call them that. Also, I feel like the scores in this video were a little harsh, especially the bad ones. Also, Jane makes a WAY BETTER Valkyrie than Thor!
Fun fact time, Janes All weapon vambrace is actually made from the broken remains of the Ultimate 1610 Mjolnir that somehow ended up in the 616 universe
Bro, comparing these awful suits to cosplayers is unfair. Unlike the team at Crystal Dynamics, Cosplayers actually put an effort to their suits and even though it may not look great, their suit are often way more accurate than people believe they are.
With how many times Thor actually uses a larger Hammer / Axe in other media, you'd think they'd give him animations for using an axe. Instead of giving Hawkeye a sword. Also, they probably could've given the Gladiator and Infinity War suits the shattered Mjolnir that Jane uses. It's still inaccurate but makes slightly more sense than him using normal Mjolnir.
I would love to see an Avengers game that has a similar style to Marvel vs Capcom Infinite or Fortnite. Sometimes, less is more, and in this case, it definitely is.
Jane’s journey as Thor is one of the best comic arcs we’ve ever gotten from Marvel. I understand the confusion of Thor, so I’ll explain. When Jane first starts using Mjolnir, Thor Odinson explains that whomever takes the role of the God of Thunder and wields Mjolnir is considered Thor, it’s a title for the God of Thunder, that was named after him. He gives up being Thor and lets her take the title and becomes Odinson. Jane is… Not normally that cringey, but sometimes it happens, it’s rare though, she’s great most of the time. I think the turnaround of you saying “I don’t like this character, no I haven’t read anything she’s in, why?” is very silly, I chuckled at it. Also.. you like the Ultimates? That’s a take I’ve never heard online.
Not liking her is not the same as disliking her, seems like people think I hate her but I really don't. Mostly I just find the premise of her to be silly, outside of that I'm pretty indifferent towards her. And yeah I am the Ultimates' strongest soldier😤😤😤
@@DoritoGOD2811 I’d recommend giving the Aaron run a read, the whole thing. Good shit. I respect the dedication, no one else defends that book, we need one guy protecting it lol
@@shizaanimations7634 Original Sin is awful, and Mighty Thor butchers everything about Asgard. It usually is why people hate Jane Thor. Not because her character is bad, but because Aaron made the worst setup for her to look good. Just butchering Asgard lore, ESPECIALLY with Odin.
Ultimate Mjolnir is considerably bigger though, so if you don't change the animations then there would be a lot of clipping on the handle if he's holding it closer to the head of the hammer. If he was holding it closer to the pommel then the animations would be misleading since the hammer would extend far past where it actually hits. You could shrink the hammer to make it a one-handed weapon, but then that would also look weird. So I really do think the best solution would be to make new animations for it, especially since those animations could then be reused for MCU Stormbreaker.
I personally quite like her valkyrie skin the most as i also never liked the jane fosthor character (The whole reasoning for her not taking time to treat her cancer was bloody stupid) I do quite like where the character is at right now
Jane would have been such a good character if the writers were better and gave her a new name, I get thor-clones, but don't just call her Thor because you want female empowerment moments where people are like "Oh my God a female Thor!" focus on writing it right, not activism

It’s speaks volumes to the lack of creativity when the only decent outfits are the ones designed by people not involved with this game (mcu suits) and yet they still somehow find ways to fuck them up sometimes like the original thor suit from his first movie
honestly im interested how a video like these for the insomniac spider-man games suits would go
Asqardian destroyer is my main costume for Thor
Two videos back to back let's go!
Chris Hemsworth looks more muscular than videogame Thor. He's an over the top warrior god, I wish they were a little more bold with his body type.
8:17 my biggest problem is that the chest circle things are not just white like they should be
To be fair, the circles on Thor's classic costume are often colored light blue in the comics.
@@DoritoGOD2811 really? I'm not a big comic reader but from the pictures you showed it looked silver/white to me. But yeah if they are actually that color I see what your saying
This is why I actually just use the Mcu costumes while playing the game they actually look like super hero suits
Honestly it would say these costumes are pretty good,
for a medium budget fan film
I feel like she's still called " Thor" because the identity of Tjor being Jane was actually revealed after her introduction
I’m a huge fan of Jane Foster Thor and the outfits she has in this game are amazing. Especially the adaption of the classic Mighty Thor outfit. Even her iconic suit is great which I can’t say for every character in the game.
"makes her backside visually pleasing to look at" now think how that sounds out of context
It's weird that the Stark Tech actually feels like improvement on the iconic one, it just has more tech rather than regular armor.
At least these videos are showing why hawkeye has some of the best suits, especially the ones based of fractions original hawkeye run (minus the bird hybrid one)
Man you are NOT going to like my eventual Hawkeye video
@@DoritoGOD2811 as long you have good things to say about the Matt fraction based suits, I’m sure it’ll be fine (I’ll agree the iconic suit is nearly perfect minus the shaved head)
@@simonmann4922 I'm so sorry man😔
Hawkeye has maybe three good suits, his retro, Civil War movie, and modern one.
@@Montesama314 the suits based on fractions run are top tier along with the counter earth, the modern suit based on the secret avengers suit, a very good classic suit inspired design, and a medieval Hawkeye with a poncho (I’m sorry but square Enix did not do the retro suit justice)
really sucks that jane's moveset in the game didn't include the shrapnal attack that the old hammer got i nLove and Thunder
Ultimate Mjolnir is definitely not the same size lol
Appreciate the god of war music in the background 😂
The suit Thor wears in the last frame of Love and Thunder actually looks good. It’s kinda weird how in the MCU, Thor downgrades his suit after the first Avengers, and kinda stayed that way till Infinity War. Still think the suit from the first movie is bar none his best look.
Man I really wished they gave him his axe in most of the suits but I guess that would have been hard
Yeah, I rememeber liking the general look of Thor except how the circles smother up the chest. He's a god, so let the godly physique speak for itself.
The hair on the unworthy suit is hawkeye's 😂
I actually enjoy this game but there is alot of things I dislike they had so much potential for an avengers game I don't know what went wrong in the production of this game but it coo
I feel like any form of a recolor should've been removed from this list. I get they still count as cosmetics. But I'd hardly call them that. Also, I feel like the scores in this video were a little harsh, especially the bad ones. Also, Jane makes a WAY BETTER Valkyrie than Thor!
Fun fact time, Janes All weapon vambrace is actually made from the broken remains of the Ultimate 1610 Mjolnir that somehow ended up in the 616 universe
if Dorito God was a comic villain his name would be Captain Nitpick. Where he literally nitpicks people to death.
Azgards might suffers so much from the musculature issue, this is definitely the most ive noticed it/cared about it so far.
Bro, comparing these awful suits to cosplayers is unfair. Unlike the team at Crystal Dynamics, Cosplayers actually put an effort to their suits and even though it may not look great, their suit are often way more accurate than people believe they are.
I’m surprised they didn’t have a Ragnarok skin (the cyborg counterpart of Thor not the movie which they did)
Honestly half the costumes would be better if he actually had some muscle mass
Bruh, go read Jason Aaron’s run on Thor. I know you said you don’t like Jane Foster as Thor, but I promise you, it’s one of the best Thor runs ever.
been waiting for this one 😮💨😮💨
Hello god of dorito's, I hath arrived to say so far I agree with your onions.
27:03 giggity
The arm armor on the War Cry suit is not scale armor, it’s called Lamellar armor. Or thats what it looks most similar to me at least
Awesome video bro
They couldve done a beta ray bill skin for thor, and that would have been cool
25:40 in the mcu it doesn’t make sense
But in the comics, there have been several others before Jane that have taken up the name Thor
Hell, they didn't have to change the animations for ultimate Thor. They could have just done a model swap and made him swing the hammer one handed lol
I personally quite like her valkyrie skin the most as i also never liked the
jane fosthor character
(The whole reasoning for her not taking time to treat her cancer was bloody stupid)
I do quite like where the character is at right now
In the Love and Thunder movie Jane is never referred to as Thor at all. Shes referred to as Jane.
Jane would have been such a good character if the writers were better and gave her a new name, I get thor-clones, but don't just call her Thor because you want female empowerment moments where people are like "Oh my God a female Thor!" focus on writing it right, not activism
A lot of comics (X-men) focus both on writing and activism.
@@mechanomics2649 Okay, but that's an allegory for real life events, not throwing political slogans on your face
27:02 "This one... makes her backside visually pleasing to look at"
would you be willign to look at costumes in other marvel games? specifically GotG and Ultimate Alliance 3
Would like to see you do this but for other games. Obvious one being Insomniac's Spider-Man
I kinda want to play it again so i can mess around with all the costumes.
