    This was the most helpful video I've seen on mediums (and partly solvents). It's seriously so hard to find someone who clearly states "YOU DON'T REALLY NEED MEDIUM", but if you want, be cautious, and use very little of [X]. Thank you!

    Make a teensy batch of medium in a little Oiler squeeze bottle and can put a drop directly on palette and don’t have to dip brush and contaminate. It saves a lot of medium.

    Did water mixable oilpaint want mediums

    I mixed stand oil with gamsol about a month ago and it’s still not mixed. I have it in little jars that I shake everyday. It’s not mixing. I prepared 1:1, 1:2, 1:3, 1:4, 1:5. None of them are resuspended. Is it because Gamsol is too weak a diluent or because I didn’t add dammvar varnish? I work alla prima so I didn’t think I’d need varnish in my medium.

      I'm not familiar with gamsol so there must be properties in it that prevent a solution. Try regular artist's white spirits.

    Thanks Malcolm. Could you explain difference between Artist white spirit and the ordinary white spirit sold at DIY stores? Has the Artist sort got some extra special ingredient?

    • @MalcolmDewey
      @MalcolmDewey  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The DIY stuff is harder on brushes, but the main thing is volatile chemicals causing health issues.

    Excuse me sir? It seems that you used Italy oil paint (maybe Maimeri artist or Puro). So can you review this one, and compared it to others oil paints, such as Rembrandt? Thanks Sir.
