On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the students of Mount Litera Zee School, Bhagalpur, captivated the audience with a portrayal of the epic Ramayana, showcasing Lord Rama’s journey of virtue and sacrifice.
The performance began with the birth of Lord Rama and his brothers in Ayodhya, celebrating their upbringing at sage Vashistha’s gurukul, where they learned wisdom and righteousness. The narrative then moved to Mithila, where Rama won Sita’s hand by breaking the divine Shiv Dhanush, marking a joyful union. Tragedy struck as Kaikeyi demanded Rama’s exile, leading him, Sita and Lakshmana to the forest. They faced challenges, including the demoness Surpanakha, whose defeat angered Ravana, leading to Sita’s abduction.
The story introduced Hanuman, who crossed the ocean to reassure Sita of Rama’s love. The battle in Lanka culminated in Ravana’s defeat, restoring order and bringing Rama, Sita and Lakshmana back to Ayodhya. Their return was celebrated with rows of lamps, symbolizing the first Diwali-a festival of light and righteousness.
The students’ heartfelt performances highlighted the Ramayana's timeless values of devotion and the triumph over darkness, leaving the audience amazed.
