Wow, getting second is pretty awesome on the hard setting. I know some pretty good racers and even they are struggling on hard, and that is just to keep up with the leaders, let alone win. I wish you well in your efforts and may that win come very soon.
@@playstationracer67-GT7 Well today I was able to finish first on hard settings , after probably 50 starts... all that thanks to your hint about going full course with mediums and no pit stop... that worked and finished 0.3s in front of the second one... it was close...but it worked...
Wow, brilliant, well played. It must have been such a sense of satisfaction and achievement when you achieved that. Well done and thanks for engaging with my channel. It is very much appreciated.

Congratulations! All your hard work paid off. You used to say that you would make silly mistakes once you got out front, but you appear to have overcome that now.
Thank you. I still make silly mistakes but after hours of trying this one it was pure adrenaline. I was physically shaking when I crossed the finish line for about ten minutes. Although this is safe racing with no cost or risk, it really makes me feel alive sometimes.
You're welcome @@playstationracer67-GT7, and thank you very much, it was a bold risky move, the softs were dead by the end of it, i still managed to win though.
I was really impressed. Doing the full race on mediums was hard enough. BTW, if you have not already, would you mind subscribing to my channel. I am trying to get to 1,000 subscribers by my birthday in July and it is pretty tough going on here these days. Many thanks.
Great effort, just a shame that it took so long but I guess that there were a lot of strategy combinations to work through and you would have needed the weather for that one to work. Congrats anyway, another nice video.
Thanks Julian. There were lots of strategy combinations to run through and also the weather kept getting better and better, which threw a totally new and unexpected factor into the mix. This one really kept me guessing and thinking.
Honestly I keep hoping for rain. At least I know I will be better at preparing for it and pitting before it hits, and the AI are more incompetent in the rain when you are equipped with Inters or Wets when they have normal tires. The AI just simply doesn’t get worse as the race goes on, even when they don’t Pit. Best I’ve done is 2nd on Softs and no stops. I’ll try this method tonight, and see how I fare. Cheers.
Good luck. I struggled in the rain. I only had inters and it lashed it down and everyone jumped onto full wets. Next time out I jumped onto wets and it was inter tyre weather. I just never seemed to get a break until I realised that the weather seems to get better with each run.
Hi and thank you for finding my channel and for asking this question. I am away from my PlayStation for the moment, but I will see if I can get a video done on this tomorrow and uploaded soonest. Please subscribe and hit the bell for notification of when that video goes live, In the meantime and assuming that my memory serves me well, you need to select the car that you wish to add the livery to, then go to GT Auto, Car Customization, Load Style, Content Search and then search for something related to what you want. I usually type in the car that I am using to get all of the shared liveries for that car. If I have got any of that wrong, watch for the video over the next day or two.
Hi, this is just a quick note to let you know that the shared livery video is uploading at the moment and it should be public in a few minutes. I hope that it helps. It talks about creating your own (brief intro), finding and using shared liveries and how to add them to your collection for easy reuse. I hope that the video is useful.
You are more than welcome. If it is useful, could you do me a favour and ask your family and friends to subscribe to help me to get towards the 1000. I’m trying to get there before my birthday in July.
Hi Kevin, Thank you for your visit to my channel and I wish you well with your efforts to complete this level. It is not an easy one. If you have not ready, please consider subscribing to my channel. I am producing a lot of content for people that are new to game and in the hope of helping a few people. You sub will greatly help me to keep this level of content coming.
Wow, nice. I’ll definitely check out your video because I would love to do this on hard. Would you permit me to post your video on my new Reddit channel? Also, if you have not already, I’d really appreciate a sub to help my channel along. I have subbed on two of my accounts to help your channel along.
Thank you. I do not know if this will result in many more views and subs for you but feel free to add any new GT videos that you release. You should be able to do this yourself, although I am still tweaking the channel at the moment and learning fast.
I believe that I ran this race on the normal difficulty setting in the game, whereas more recently I have been completing these all on the hard settings.
I am using manual gears and steering and braking assists are off. I only use TCS set to 1 or off and I have ABS on. All other assists are off. They slow you down considerably.
One of the biggest revelations for me, was being persuaded to turn off as many of the driving aids as possible. Just recently, I have also been running with zero TCS and that it giving me a second or so per lap, but more opportunity to spin. I'll persevere though, because I know that it will be worth while in the end. Turning off the driving line and braking zone was the biggest step in helping me to learn the tracks. You begin to find your own lines and brake references that better suit your driving style.
@@playstationracer67-GT7 I turned off all my assists very early on in my GT7 journey - mainly due to your videos, as well as others, recommending to do so - and yes, it makes all the difference, and makes the experience so much more realistic. The only thing I do still run with though is automatic gears. I know you have said that it took you a long time to move to manual, so what I would like to know is; Did you have a process you went through in order to help with that transition?
No real process that I can mention, it was just a case of trial and error and practice. Very quickly it becomes second nature and I could not drive with auto gears now because I use the engine braking so much. To be honest, I am still perfecting the use of the gears. For example, I begin to change down ever so slightly too early. One thing that I do though, and still do every week, is watch the top racers replays with the data on. This helps me to see what gears they are using, where they begin braking and changing down gears and then back up. Those replays are invaluable when learning new tracks, cars, etc. One of the key things is to use a lower gear to help with turn in on tight corners and then not to be too afraid to change up early to avoid wheel spin and to get best traction out of corners. Oh, also some cars like to be reved out (Ferarri gr.4) whereas other cars (Mclaren Gr.4) like to be upshifted mid rev range.
Subscribed! I have raced this race atleast 8 times so far. Each time. No rain. I never experienced the rain. I don't know why. I always tried with RS Tires and out once, but it's clearly not the way to go. You'll never catch the 1st place car if you pit
The tyres would have lasted longer but they would be slower and slide more. That was the main reason for my tyre choice but maybe try the hard tyres if that works better for you.
Mate - Do yourself a huge favour and turn auto transmission off. It really does make a massive amount of difference. That said, I personally think that is slows you down, but I know plenty of people that race with auto gears and managed to complete these challenges. But, I'd advise going manual every time.
yep... trying to do it on hard difficulty.... managed to finished 2nd twice.... but I will use some of your tips to try to get an edge... tks !
