Have you tried supercavitating tips? From what I’ve seen of supercavitating bullets, it doesn’t seem all that complicated to machine from rod stock. From back to front: a cylindrical section for weight, a long conical section, a small round groove most of the way to the tip, and a rather blunt but small cone tip.
A big issue with cavitating tips is the act of cavitation slows the spear a whole lot. Remember what cavitation is. A nearly explosive vacuum happening at the edge of an object in a gas or liquid.
I'm pumping the tanks to 6000psi. They haven't exploded. Been doing it since December. Although my PCP hand pump is experiencing leaks and issues after pumping it to high pressure for that long.
Really cool! But I'm unsure how well these would work for spearfishing. I can see two glaring problems. The first being the lack of any string which is crucial in spearfishing, and the second being the fairly small projectiles. I could imagine it working, but it depends on accuracy a lot. When you hit a fish when spearfishing, it's often still alive after the first shot. The string keeps it tethered to the speargun so it can't swim away before it dies. With a gun like this however, your shots need to be very accurate. You'd need to hit the fish directly in the head, or along the spine to immobilize it instantly before it could swim away. You get the benefit of follow up shots and an easier time aiming compared to a speargun, but since the weapon is quite loud, it might scare the fish away after the first shot if you miss, or you could hit the fish poorly and it'd just swim away before dying much later, far out of your reach. Since the projectile is small as well, that means you have less of a chance of hitting an important organ; such as the brain or spine, which you would need to do because of the lack of string. I'd really be interested to see someone spearfishing with this though. The small size and possibility for follow up shots could make it an interesting choice for people spearfishing larger fish. For example, if you speared a tuna or stripped bass poorly, and it was still alive and putting up a fight, you could definitely use something like this to quickly shoot it in the head and kill it. Kinda like an actual sidearm lol Again, it's a really cool design!

A lot of people forget what water ranges are vs in air. Max range in water being 2-3 meters is similar to 15-20 meters in air. That range is only really for accuracy not penetration power. Salt water is roughly 850 x more dense than air when accounting for salt & that's at surface level. As you go deeper in water the pressure & density goes up dramatically.

@@Christianos_Theophile You are partly correct. Fish blood is going to get other fish(sharks)attention. (unlike human blood that is exaggerated in movies)And sharks from miles away can detect the blood. The close up method of deterring a shark from feeding on you is to bludgeon its snout where its senses are. This weapon shot there from a short distance would do the same, only more dramatic. Shooting another part of the body might distract it, but not likely going to have the same effect. I'm %100 certain that this dude is a wasteland arms dealer and just lost
In a pool..? Really
I would like to see it how they work in a real situation which is not exactly at 2” depth..
Perhaps at 40” deep and in a murky water or with poor visibility….
Definitely u cannot use it for spearfishing…bc fishes don’t die instantly unless it’s shot in the head.
Very possible if any fish is not shot behind the head it will swim away

Mr. I Have an indoor pool in my slingshot house
Not his, according to other posts he made.
it's gotta be a beautiful house he is filming in today
I'm sure the thing is cool just the filming was so bad I couldn't even see the damn thing.
Mark 2
Not mk2.
Mk2 = mark2
Found English lol
Well... "spearfishing" with a "Speargun" without line attached to the spear is quite ... stupid?
Anyone REALLY practicing spearfishing knows why. There are at least 2 reasons for that...
Attaching a string takes about 30 seconds.
@@Slingshotchannel oh, there are eylets or similar on the Bolts to do that, and it still fits into the gun with a string?
Next let’s see a test where you shoot them at a large piece of pork underwater. That is what people buy it for, meat. Not a super flimsy piece of plywood..
Plywood is not flimsy, especially to piercing, and I don't think the pool owner would appreciate a bunch of pork grease in his pool pump.
Sound unintelligible.
NOWHERE SELLS THE OLD ONE LET ALONE THIS ONE, WHY EVEN ADVERTISE SOMETHING I HAVE BEEN TRYING TO BUY FOR ABOUT 2 YEARS, WASTE OF TIME!!!
The time has come, we will put it in the shop next week. The goods have arrived and we are in the final stages of the tests.
@@Slingshotchannel COME ON BRO, I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT ONE, IT IS NO 1 ON MY SHOPPING LIST
@@Slingshotchannel I'll buy at least 3 full packages, I've been trying to find the last model at least from 2 years
Am i the only one annoyed by the reflection of light on the water right in front of the target? It completely obscures the shot.
That is why I use the underwater target cam too.
Mighty big gripes for a free video.
@JoergSprave for sure. I'm sorry, I shouldn't be complaining, and I love your content!
so they may work at like 30 cm distance,. wow..
