Thank you for posting this video on The Seekers! I am old enough that their peak years coincided with my high school years. But it's taken 50 years for me to really discover the personalities behind their music (unlike the Beatles). I was always struck by the power of the female lead and now can put a name to it. However, I have concluded that The Seekers needed Judith Durham's voice as much as she needed Athol's, Keith's and Bruce's. The men's harmony and back up vocals is to Judith's voice as are the spices and side dishes that enhance a delicious culinary masterpiece. The Seekers exemplify the adage that 'the sum is greater than its parts.' As for Judith's departure in the late sixties, the trend of that period saw the popularity of that kind, as well as many other kinds, of music wane, and the fading of many similar groups such as The Cowsills, the Mamas and the Papas, the Fifth Dimension, Peter Paul and Mary, and even the Beatles. But the amazing thing is how ageless the music of that era are compared to today's. (I am also amazed that none of the three blokes asked Judith for her hand in marriage! I would have!)

If only they knew the joy they bring to millions, and help many like me lift their depression when we play and listen to their wonderful voices and songs. Thank you so much The Seekers.

A great video I'm an American The Seekers were my favorite folk group-- they still are .nothing Corny about them they are fantastic. I was thinking with Judith Durhams illness that she is to the Australians may be what Linda Ronstadt is to us Americans. two great women singers who unfortunately have lost the incredible voices that they once had but we still love them.

Oh for the days when music was music. They were a big reason I favor folk and folk rock. Tunes that are timeless and voices you can understand.

They will forever be my favorite group of all time. I did not get to meet them when I went to the other Melbourne (I live in the one in Florida) last May (2016); but I did get to meet Judith;s wonderful sister, Beverly Sheehan. Beverly is also a really good singer.

Actually would have been from late 1995 as the “World of The Seekers” video was released then - “The Seekers At Home and Down Under” was released on video in 1997. Also the old “Today Tonight” logo in this clip was changed at the beginning of 1996.

I'm still trying to find "The World of the Seekers" online. I'm in Canada, and can't find it anywhere. Does anyone know of a site that might have put it online? I'd really appreciate it.
