- Hey guys,
Here's my first video of an original track of mine, entitled 'Surrender'. I truly hope you enjoy it! I released it a little while ago, on MySpace, before I had any following on TH-cam. The video is mimed, as it was very late, and the neighbours would have protested! I'm posting it just to keep your interest, and so that those guitarists out there, who might like to follow my fingers, can see how it's played.
I'm currently in the process of recording a new album, which I will keep you updated on.
I cannot thank you all enough for your wonderful support and friendship, and hope to put up some more cover videos, soon! :-)

Hey Adam!Thank you very much for your encouraging words!I can't wait to graduate and then focus on music.I once heard Tremonti say if his guitar playing is in the gutter then so is his life.That's how much it matters!If I'm happy with my progress, tone and overall playing I'm generally thrilled; but it f it's not going well then I'm moody and it looms on me.I still find ways of plucking up encouragement though and still find ways of enjoying music,listening especially Thank you for your music!:)

@thedonace213 Hey Pablo - yup! You guessed it! Although I didn't use much - just a crybaby wah for those parts, and then all other 'effects' were processed in Pro Tools. Used a load of compressors, EQs and filters for some of that. Hope that sort of helps! Main sound was my Marshall's Crunch channel. :-)
@zitacarvalho That's awesome, Zita! Those are really good effects processors, I think! You should have a look on TH-cam for tutorials on how to use it - might help you getting your head around all the controls, etc. And well done for tackling the Lady Antebellum cover, too! Ok so I hear Satch and Vai in there, but more importantly I hear Adam Lee, this is an excellent track and excellent performance. Even with a more aggressive song you maintain the ability to keep the soul and feeling in your playing. God Bless you and keep inspiring all of us!
@sportsportsport I know the feeling. University does rule lives, but it's good! Concentrate on that. I forgot the time of year! Madness! And you're doing well to play every day, too. @RikaRelic Hahaha - thanks, Rikki! No, it didn't crash. I have a control surface, which means I rarely touch the mouse or keyboard. So, because of that, the computer just put the display to sleep but kept working underneath that guise! :-D That's happened in another video of mine, from what I remember! :-)

I def hear the Satch influence (doubled lines, the melodic sensibility, and some of your bends and phrasing). I got to jam with him once (my buddy was married to his drummer Greg Bissonette's sister)...great guitarist and a genuinely nice guy. Nice work on the song, I enjoyed it.

This song is so amazing, you are gifted. I love both Satriani and Vai this so encompasses both these amazing musicians. I bet either of them would love to claim this as their own work. @thedonace213 Hey Pablo - you are right. I'm using a wah pedal - there's one under my foot, although it's outside of the frame. Well spotted! And for a tiny bit in the middle, I've applied a fuzz and filter to give that spacey sound before the bridge. Hope that helps! :-)

@Adam! I would but I have Uni stuff casting a shadow over my every movement. Moving in dates, packing etc. reading books I long to read and visiting buildings with people that have agendas that differ from my own. I have a vision of being great, I just need to have some time and space to do it! As for now, I'm playing everyday and keeping my enthusiasm topped up.. that's an effort in itself! Players like you and I, are not here to just have a flutter or an attempt at playing, it's our lives!

@navydoc25 Thanks so much for that suggestion - very good idea! Although I can explain the gear here for you in a second, if you like. :-) It's a very simple setup. PRS Custom 24 --> Keeley Compressor --> Fulltone Full Drive II --> Fender Blues Deluxe for most of my videos. For this one, it was guitar --> Marshall Guv'nor --> Marshall DSL-50. Always mic'd with a simple Shure SM-57, straight into Pro Tools. Hope that helps! :-) As for singing, I have no courage - need someone to give me a boot!
