But we also need to develop modern chips too if we want to be a global leader.

The west said it will take till 2030 for India to achieve 20% ethanol blending we achieved it in 2023. In 1950s, Western experts said India will break up by 1960s but we are still here, stronger than ever. They said we won't be able to feed India's growing population, today India not only feeds it's people but is one of the largest exporters of food grain... Short answer, we can do anything we set our mind to... We just have to ignore them and work to make it happen.

Sir , all the challenges which you mentioned here are easily achievable. Just for example you said 1st trained resources, this is not a challenge for a country like India , 2nd huge water , as for your knowledge Assam is god gifted with river Bramhaputra which has the capability to provide clean water to the entire world semi conductor companies alone. So just wait for a few years, you will see that India will develop high quality and high technical semi conductor. .

India's biggest upcoming chip factory (Dholera, gujrat) by Tata will be able to manufacture 65nm wafers, eventually upgrading it to 48 and 28 nm wafers.
Keep in mind that all the laptop, mobile, computer processors are between 3nm to 15nm based processors. We are still 50 years behind in semiconductor technology and doesn't have the capability to produce modern chips for smartphones/computers. Not to mentioned the lack of highly skilled advance workers, the quality is going to be just like our indian made drones which are like cheap plastic toys.
But the thing is that the 80% of the semiconductors used in the world are more than 28nm so it's a good thing that we are focusing on a broad market.
But we also need to develop modern chips too if we want to be a global leader.
But yeah this is also a good thing so let's hope for the best.
