Alvin brought me a 350 husky, got it running, I think I need to port it! That’s an angry little saw! Thanks again for all you do buddy!👍👍👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🙏🙏🙏
Hi Bellhopper!!😀😀 One of the biggest reasons why you will burn up a saw running 50 to 1 is because they run a dull chain and learn on the saw and make it get hot. I have never burnt up any saw running 50 to 1 because I never run a dull chain. If people want to continue to run dull chains they definitely need to be running 32 to 1 in them. I have yet to ever burn up a top end in a saw. The only thing I have ever had fail are the crank bearings and that's only after hundreds of hours of heavy logging. But the top ends are always still fine. So I just put a new set of bearing and seals in and away we go again for another several hundred hours. Take care my friend!!😀😀 Logger Al
Amen Bellhopper. I’ve been preaching more oil in gas for years. I tell all my customers to run at least 40:1. I mix mine a little heavier so it’s probably 38:1 or 36:1. Ported saws gotta have lubrications to last. Preach it brother, Amen.
They are a nice little saw, put a stihl ring in my last one. I use 40 to one my small saws and brush cutters and around 35 to 1 on my mid range saws especially the x torque and auto tune saws and 30 to 1 on my 3120 and the 088 when ripping posts. Oil is cheaper than a piston and cylinder in Australia from memory is around $ 800 Au for a 372.Cheers every one.
I knew Dr. Bellhopper would have the right medicine to make little johnny feel better! I think 50:1is just a plan for saw factories to sell more stuff. Keep up the great work 👍👍💪💪😁😎🇺🇸!
Amen brother! After I started porting saws I run 32:1 most of the time and some times 40:1 but I do not run 50:1 anymore at all in anything!! And we got snow too and I hate it! I've been out cleaning porches and steps all morning
@@jolkraeremeark6949 I like the Pennzoil 2 stroke (not the out bore) oil and the lukas oil and sthil and husqvarna XP oil. All them I liked what I see when I tear a saw down with those oils everything is coated nicely and looks great! The stihl synthetic I thinks it was I hated cause everything looked like it had a wax coating on instead of oil
@@benjia.outlawedchainsaws9165 I'm thinking of trying out Echo Red Armor. It is full synthetic and I've heard good stuff about it. Any insight on the Red Armor?
@@jolkraeremeark6949 ive heard bad things about stihl and good about the echo red armor... stihl works but there have been complaints about buildup unless you run at wide open throttle often, which is usually the case anyway but the red armour has cleaners and stabilizer in it ......as for ratios dave at daves small engines channel did a test and ever since I stopped running richer than 50:1...used to run around 40 or so... at 50:1 the saw ran cooler in at least 3 different scenarios iirc... maybe in winter i will run richer been contemplating that but definitely not in summer
No snow out here on the water. It was extremely foggy this morning though you could see the mist particulates in the air, and it was only low 40s but jeez wasnt it cold, I swear humidity is everything...hot it cold shew it stays humid ALL the time out here
I have a mac pro 10 10 that was my dads and your accent sounds Appalachia just like mine. I live in WV and am looking for a legit guy who can get this power saw back to its glory. It still starts 3 or 4 pulls but this Mac means the world to me because it was my dads and the first saw I learned to run. I watch BBR and that's how I found and subscribed to you in 2020. Please message if you have time. Thank you.
Fatten the mix up on him in carb then. Saw might not run as good as it could. But might help in repair area for you. Unless your charging him family rates.
@@benjia.outlawedchainsaws9165 that would be awesome but i dont have anything big enough to use one on in the city lol. Im pretty sure it would just collect dust sadly.

True a ported saw needs more oil mix so not to burn up a saw. These people that think using little oil helps🤔 yeah right.
Be the same with 2stroke dirt bikes

Hello Mr Bellhopper.
You need to do a little hot rod like a 2149 turbo if you need you need one to do it to I will send you mine lol
What did you have to do to put .375 chain on it,i have a 350 Husky i'd like to do that too?
At this point i know more about saws than i should considering i dont have one lol.
What you don't have any saws?

What do you use on the cylinder base to seal it I've been using Honda bond with no luck just curious what you use that works
I run 32:1 also. Learned a hard lesson with 50:1 on a 357 when I was a strappin lad. Lol
Man I have the same one as that shes a runner..but I have some questions about it..
I run about 30 to 1 plus a dab of staybul.
Those saws are known for ripped intake boots you should check if it’s sucking air
You got a twin cyl Echo in that shop?
No buddy i wish i did lol
I'd think about trading mine for a nice P51- P62 anything in between! Runs but has a slightly bent handlebar and broken hand guard. Just a thought.
Check online as i seen two for sale of twin cyl Echo
i almost fast forward it to see it run but you work so fast.
So our husquavarna rancher says to run it at 50:1 so what do you recommend??
He needs to get a old classic Mac that runs😆
My poulan pro says to run 50:1 should I swith to 40:1? I just buy the premixed fuel
Right on brother
TELL THEM TO MIX THERE FUEL 40 TO 1 MAYBE THEY WILL LISTEN TO YOU GREAT JOB BELL HOPPER BE SAFE BUDDY
You are a fine saw tech
Compresure.. lol you had going there.
Yep I'm here
Let it smoke
50:1 is a recommended my manufacturer that's not eched in stone
👍✊Nice fix Hooper
Wizard!
Is that their version of the 350 it reminds me of mine
They last a lot longer with decent amount of oil.too little pretty risky..plugs are cheaper than motors..Lol.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
And yet another good reason to not run 50:1 in nothing
Yo!
I run all my saws at 32:1 bell hopper
