@Miles Highson When i was a little kid my stepfather once played this game and then proceeded to set the difficulty to max and then returned to the menu and started making fun of the difficulty change/announcer accent by saying “GUNDAM BATTLE OF HELL” (and i couldn’t stop laughing, i like cried laughing)
Oh I liked this one back then. Great music, great graphics and even though fighting felt a bit weird with such huge, clunky robots, it was still playable and enjoyable imho.
Not sure about the gameplay (never played it), but I find that the Gundam models look really nice and the animation seems smooth. Looks like a pretty good game.
The only gundam game that’s a classic back and forth style fighter, oh and gundam battle assault 2 as well, sadly after that no gundam games were like the battle assault series... now there all like the actual anime where you fly around and fight other gundams, bring back the battle assault series!! Boo to the rest lol
Being like the anime is a bad thing? I know you guys like Battle Assault, but the VS. series is way more successful, not just because they're 3D but also because they're way easier to understand and way harder to master. Which is why they keep making em. Not to mention they include more series and suits than you can keep track of, all fully realized and actually follow the source materials unlike here where they put Treize in the Epyon and Wong on the Psycho MK.III (How did a G Generations suit even get here?)
@SuperKillerdreams Good to hear. For me I do want to see this series return as well. BA3 really left a bad taste in everyones mouths, I wish we get a new one with even more series getting rep.
@ amen to that sir lol yea Just imagine a gundam battle assault 4 like the first to originals so a classic 1V1 fighter BUT on the PS4 🤤 and max graphic settings and the backgrounds are so deep with depth and super detailed
I remember playing this game with my cousin back in the days. Can't remember which character was it but I always chose the one where you can spam his beam constantly. Anyone remembers which one was that?
My step dad once put the difficulty on max while playing this game and made fun of the accent implying he said "Gundamn BATTLE OF HELL" and he was like "Yeah you're right it's gonna be hell". thought that was so funny
Kamille calling himself weak compared to Heero.. hmmm.. while Heero was trained as an assassin by birth, Kamille has natural talents and has probably the strongest Newtype potential.
I loved these games, the 1st and the 2nd. they were 2 of the 4 fighting games I liked on the PS1...lol with JoJo's Bizzare and guilty gear being the other 2. You gotta have Both Gundam BA 1 and 2 thought because they each have mobile suits the other lacks. I stupidly sold the first to finance buying the second, then realized I missed some of the suits from the first... Differences between the 2 also include the 1st having all 2D backgrounds while the 2nd game has mostly 3D ones. Also the mobile suits in the 1st game seem to have a more traditional 2D look (thought I think they are 3D Renders) while in the 2nd the suits appear to be cel shaded 3D models. I could be wrong on the suits thought.
Unlockable Methods + RX-93 Nu Gundam: Complete the game with Quin Mantha in any difficult settings and play as the other mobile suit (except Quin Mantha) until Nu Gundam is appeared instead of Quin Mantha stage, defeat him then complete the game + RX-78 Gundam: Complete the game with Zeta Gundam in any difficult settings and play as the other mobile suit (except Zeta Gundam) until RX-78 Gundam is appeared instead of Zeta Gundam stage, defeat him then complete the game + RB-79 Ball: Complete the game with all 12 mobile suits in any difficult settings + MS-06S Zaku II: On the Mode Select Screen, input Left, Up, Right, Down, Square, triangle, Circle that you will hear the correct sound + MA-08 Big Zam: Complete the game with Easy difficult + AMX-002 Neue Ziel: Complete the game with Normal difficult + MRX-012 Psycho Gundam mk 3: Complete the game with Hard difficult + OZ-15AGX Hydra Gundam: Complete the game with Hard difficult without using continue + All Bosses: same as Unlock Hydra Gundam method
I always forget this game has 3 final bosses, I always think it's like only 2 and the last one catches me by surprise every time. Psycho is totally the worst one out of them tho.
Heero, Trieze and Valder are all from Gundam Wing, but Valder and the Hydra are from a manga side story called The Last Outpost, or G-Unit as it was originally called Kamiru (Kamille), and Scirocco are from Zeta Gundam Judau, Haman and Ple-Two are from its sequel, Gundam ZZ, though Haman originally appeared in Zeta. Her appearance in this game is specifically ZZ Anavel Gato is from 0083: Stardust Memory, an OVA series taking place between the original Gundam and Zeta Gundam Char (Zeong) and Amuro (Gundam) is from the original Gundam and their appearances in the Sazabi and V/Nu Gundam are from Char's Counterattack, a movie taking place after ZZ. Dozle, Denim and Akahana are also from the original Gundam Mikhail is from 0080: War in the Pocket, just one year after the original Gundam There's one extra character in multiplayer that's a hidden unlockable that's never encountered in the story mode and that's Shiro in the Ball, who is from The 08th MS Team, an OVA side story of the original Gundam's timeframe.
I remember this to be fast-paced. Looking back it looks so clunky and sluggish. Gundam Vs Gundam Next Plus is so much better. Hell, even the Kidou Senshi Gundam W on SNES is so much better; also the 2 Gundam Battle Assault games on the GBA.
oh my god, i used to love this game, still looks good after 25 years
hell yea same here !
Wealth and Glory to the Winner
GENDEM! BETTELL ASSELT!

Thanks. I never understood what he said
Special Gundam battles:
53:30 - 55:30 - Queen Manther Vs. Nu(ν)-Gundam
1:14:36 - 1:16:31 - Zaku II Vs. RX-78-2 Gundam
is not Queen Mantha, is The O though
I think this is the first game i raged at when I was young because I could rarely get pass the big green gundam.
I thought it's just me.
this game needs to be made for ps4
God I remember playing this game with my friends when we were little kids. My favorite to use was ZZ Gundam.
me too XD
lawlerzwtf spam square for belly beam
Hi 5 man, spam that belly beam to finish the game.
@@BluflameX2It's circle button, not square

loved this game!
Got this for Christmas of 2000. My grandma bought it for me. Rip
It saddens me to see the best mobile suits from UC get demolished by fucking Heero Yuy.
Not sure about the gameplay (never played it), but I find that the Gundam models look really nice and the animation seems smooth. Looks like a pretty good game.
This game introduced me to this series
one of the best gundam fighting game out there(not that there are many).it lacks many improtant gundam units of the era though.
Kinda disappointed that Wing Gundam is just a palette swap of Zeta and having the same moveset.
0:41 the world trade center.
+Wyatt Goulet You're right.
*facepalm*
Bruh
big mobile suit is a nightmare
The thing that still haunts me is the "CAN'T DEFEND" spam. Still a pretty bad ass game, and still prefer the G Gundam addition in the sequel.
The only gundam game that’s a classic back and forth style fighter, oh and gundam battle assault 2 as well, sadly after that no gundam games were like the battle assault series... now there all like the actual anime where you fly around and fight other gundams, bring back the battle assault series!! Yes, absolutely the best Gundam game to date.
Being like the anime is a bad thing?

@ I posted that 6 years ago lol I’ve come along way now, I do have mad respect for the gundam series as a whole, so it’s all good 😋
@SuperKillerdreams Good to hear.

good ol days
Love this game!

Esse Gundam pra mim é impressionante!!! Faltou só jogar o primeiro Gundam da série clássica!!!
Not quite. Different story, characters from the original series and Wing in place of Hamma Hamma
Hamma Hamma will be Mashymre Cello
Really miss these kind of retro games. 8bit graphic and background n retro song. Still awesome even after a decade
This isn't 8 bit. Not even close as that's NES. More like 32 bit.
"8bit graphic" 😂😂😂😂🤣
Well, it's glory to the winner!
*wealth and glory
was it on hard
I need a copy of this game, thanks amigo
Same Like Gundam The Battle Master 2 Japanese Version
ahhh nostalgia...
one think is sure ... sazabi is damn OP . his combos can drain almost the whole life bar. =/
also how the fuk do you unlock v gundam
Big Zam & Neue Ziel
Were hard as fuck for me
Take up most of the screen and deal a fuck load of damage :/
Silverwolf Pirates and psycho gundam mk3
great fighting game. sequels even better- just wish they were easier to play on emulators
Wasn't Amuro's RX-78-2 like a hidden mobile suit you could choose? I swear it was.
It is, but only in multiplayer

Is there any modern equivalent gundam/another mecha fighting 1x1 game like this
Nope
The Gundam VS series, but it's more like a Hack''n Slash with 1 enemy. Gundam vs. Gundam Next Plus also have the opton for some supporters.
@@OnslaughterEx I also play kidou senshi gundam vs gundam next plus on ppsspp and Im really enjoying that.

Kamiru Bidan?? Lol
Dude you kick ass
9:20 Oh hey! Byg Zam!
i don't have any music during the fights can someone tell me the reason please?
The first game is so different from the second, still looks good but the music feels unfitting sometimes.
p.s the sequel was much much better
I definitely agree smoother controls
