My favorite sandalwood shave soap is Crabtree & Evelyn, but I like the Proraso red, and I appreciate how the handheld cup is so easy to use. I also use their pre-shave. In general Proraso appears to be a favorite among wet shavers, and I can see why.
I just received a tub of this today along with a new to me 1966 Gillette Slim Adjustable and had the finest shave of my life, no exaggeration. The fragrance is fantastic. Great soap scent. I was lucky enough to find it for $2 a tube at HomeGoods two weeks ago. I had only used Proraso Green and Proraso White, so I was very interested in the Red. After using it a few times, it is my top Proraso scent. I also bought the after shave splash (had to pay full price for it on Amazon) and it smells even better. Great shave video.
Great shave again Mark, and you are not talking Proraso red up too much. Proraso Sandalwood is the only Sandalwood I have used and the only one I want to use. I loved it from the very first sniff. It is so rich, warming and cozy, that it just makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside. And, the scent stays with you for hours. Great video George, if you like the Proraso Red soap you will definitely like the Proraso red Sandal wood Aftershave which is much better a scent but similar to the soap and is called a lotion for what ever reason. I love the Proraso red. I’ve been using it myself the last several weeks. I like to scoop a bit into my scuttle and bowl lather, though I do find it dries out whatever part of my face I shave last. Anybody else have that with Proraso?
Great video Mark!!! 💈 I love the Proraso Red, I use it frequently. I kind of like to think it has a vegetal scent, with a little bit of sandalwood back. I gotta get myself a tub of the Proraso Green!
Save that soapy bloom water! If you need more water for the lather use this water. I lather up and then prepare the razor, that little delay gives the lather a little extra time to soften the beard.
Nice shave. The only soap I have so far is Proraso Red. In the last month or so I have really gotten the mix down to get a good, slick lather. I have some Proraso Green foam but I don't like it since it dries so fast. How does the Proraso sensitive soap smell?
ThaRedPitbull-Mix Mark is right, very clean almost like ivory soap, it’s nice and light, it’s my favorite and have not had any irritation since using it.
i’ve been using this soap for about six months now and had been my go to for traveling. Awesome scent but the slickness of this soap is lacking compared to all other soaps I use. After doing a pass there is no residual slickness to speak of.
Hi, DJ Five-Seven. Proraso Red's scent is one tht has brown on me over time.:) I like it.:) I dont' have any problem with slickness. Nice slickness with all the Proraso soaps. cCould the lack of residual slickness be due to the water? Too hard?
I might be the only one in this planet but I hate Proraso. Not because it's a bad Brand and it's really not. But because it doesn't work on me. Main reason is red's scent is exactly the same with what I use to clean toilet floor. Green has something (probably menthol) too much and it makes my face red even though I don't have a sensitive skin. And I don't like white's performance. Quick note please don't beat me with a baseball bat because of this or try to sell me the brand because neither would work.
Oh forgot to say there's one problem with the Proraso and it's not personal. Proraso soaps leave a white gunk on your shaving equipment if you don't clean them hospital level. I found that dish detergent cleans the soap stains with ease though.
your wife may say you are spending your money on just Proraso soap it's about time you spend it on me for a change? you my get more from her ? of what you want from her? NO MONEY NO LOVE FACT that's what my wife said to me hugs larry
I like both both TAOS and TOOBS sandalwood scents. But they are more refined, I'd say. Proraso Red, however, has more organic scent that has grown on me.:)
My favorite sandalwood shave soap is Crabtree & Evelyn, but I like the Proraso red, and I appreciate how the handheld cup is so easy to use. I also use their pre-shave. In general Proraso appears to be a favorite among wet shavers, and I can see why.

needs more water. It is a thirsty soap
i do not know what sandlewood is ,,,,what would you compare the smell with of this soap vcause i have no clue what sandlewood smells like
Great video Mark!!!
Hi is it necessary to use pre shave with Proraso soap?
Nice shave. The only soap I have so far is Proraso Red. In the last month or so I have really gotten the mix down to get a good, slick lather. I have some Proraso Green foam but I don't like it since it dries so fast. How does the Proraso sensitive soap smell?
Proraso White has a clean and fresh, lightly fragrant scent.:) the only way I can describe it. It doesn't overwhelm at all.:)
ThaRedPitbull-Mix Mark is right, very clean almost like ivory soap, it’s nice and light, it’s my favorite and have not had any irritation since using it.
@@Shaverboy516 Thanks. I think I'll get some.
Did you ever tried the blue?
Yes. It was one of the blades I tried early on. However, I've always been confused over which blade is the blue and which is not.
@@MarkSzorady i am sorry i meant the proraso blue soap
@@jeroenbarbier3508 I've not yet used Proraso blue. Hoping they offer it as soap in a tub. I prefer Proraso that way.:)
i’ve been using this soap for about six months now and had been my go to for traveling.
Too hard?
Mark Szorady That’s probably the reason why. I’m in the north jersey area and I have noticed the water here is very hard.
What are your favorite sandalwood soaps Mark?.,,,i love Mr Fine sandalwood scent. great shave
I like both both TAOS and TOOBS sandalwood scents. But they are more refined, I'd say. Proraso Red, however, has more organic scent that has grown on me.:)
