    David the Good sent me over here! Yay! I’m so happy I found you! I’m from Midwestern farmland where you could spit in the dirt and something would grow out of it, not so much here! Totally different gardening world and I’m determined to figure it out. I look forward to seeing more of your content!

      Love David’s channel! You can spit here too… just different plants 😂😄 I’m happy you’re here! And let me know how I can help!

    Yay! Love your uploads, I get excited every time I see you’ve uploaded another video. You and Southern Dirt Gardener are my 2 favorites. Last year I was watching northern gardening videos and trying to grow how they grow and what a disaster!
    I’m trying to get things started in my new yard. I’ve started with almost a clean slate. My passion flower vines are about a foot tall and I just noticed the first little tendril yesterday. I need to get a trellis going for these pronto! I don’t know where to begin and I’m going to have to build one by myself. Your cattle panel video was perfect timing.
    I have a vinyl privacy fence around my backyard, wish I could attach a trellis to it somehow. 🤔
    Love the funny little parts of the video like at the end where you saw something and tried to show us. 🤣 I’m so glad you don’t edit that stuff out. Your personality is similar to Planterina. Keep the laughs coming. 💕

      Yay! Southern Dirt Gardener is great! I'm honored to be a favorite 🥰 On the passion flower, I'm super excited for you! I've enjoyed mine so much. I'll have to check out Planterina 😄 Bestest wishes! J

    I agree with the neighbor response. We got so many positive comments from neighbors and passers by from our cattle panel garden in the front yard. We were amazed. People came to our door asking how we did it and how they could do the same We love ours

    Recalling a radio gardening show host said he might look like he's waving a wand in his yard. He was actually trying to knock down any spider webs whether he saw them or not. Seems he was surprised on his way to his mailbox one day with one across his face.

    Really informative video, you mentioned things I hadn’t even considered yet while researching arched trellises- like trailing veggies being more vulnerable to pests when raised. Thank you!

    Love the video making cattle panels fun. Glad to hear the neighbors are secretly enjoying too funny. I'm trying an arch with passion vine this winter.

    I’m so divided on this subject!! Thanks for the insight, gave me some good points to consider. I have cattle panels set vertically but hadn’t decided on adding an arch or not. I may have missed it but can you let us know the name of about David the good’s daughters Etsy store? I ALWAYS need to further compliment my seed bank 🤣🤣 Thanks for the vid!! Well timed

    Hi, love your videos!! I have been wanting a trellis. I’m curious what are those cork screw colorful things and what exactly are they used for? I can’t wait to get started!! Thank you for all your info and you crack me up!

    • @WildFloridian
      @WildFloridian  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you Lady Sunshine (love the name)! The cork screw things are plant stakes.... sometimes people use them for tomatoes... which I did in the beginning... then all my tomatoes flopped over. So I tend to use them to mark out garden boundaries or mark where i've put a small transplant. Sometimes I use them to stake native plants like Ironweed. You can get them at Lowes or Home Depot. Happy to bring the laughs!

    Excellent information! Thank you very much! :) One question, you mentioned sun direction when positioning the cattle panel. What would you say is the optimal way to place them?

    Tomatoes on Florida weave no more for me. All the tangles and work weaving every week or more and then a big dog or deer runs through the cords and the whole garden is RUINED with snaggled tangled broken plants and cord. With every other system a dog chasing a rabbit is no problem. I tried Florida weaves for many years with frustration and a real mess at the end of the season with all that non reusable tangled twine.

    What do you recommend to cover a trellis, preferably year round in central florida 9b? I was thinking passion vine but not sure if they stay year round... love your ideas, thank you

    • @WildFloridian
      @WildFloridian  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Coral Honeysuckle - green year round, flowers most of the year, attracts hummingbirds and is native

    Buy some gray galvanized spray paint for the posts and even those who do not like the structures would be more tolerant. There is just something about the obvious T-post color that is a turn off. But, I live in the country side. I don't have to do this for mine, even though I'm building more this Spring and will probably paint them. Thanks for the video. It seems to be a very thorough evaluation of the trellis.

    First I love your videos. I’m in zone 10a and I’m wondering if there’s hope for a garden.
    Secondly is it too late in the season to start planting now.
