Thanks to Gellot and his no-hit challenge videos, I've seen a ton of Everhood and was hoping you'd showcase it here... but I had no idea the Eternity Edition bonuses existed, so I've got an entire new reason to appreciate this masterpiece all over again!
One of my most formative memories with my partner was playing through Everhood together and at the end spending literally 2 hours just talking through its themes and content in the ending, it was incredibly impactful for both of us and was one of my favorite gaming experience in recent memory. I really cherish things that are interesting and weird and unique, and Everhood is a game that is weird and unique in every aspect, from the characters to the world to the concept and plot. It's such an extremely good game and everyone should play it once. It's really fantastic.
Cazok, the musician that made the song revenge (and a few others) for everhood, actually has a one man band project called "Circus and Games". It's all highly underrated and not very publicly talked about at all. I recommend to anyone reading this comment to check out his song "The Precipice", it's really stinkin' good and only has like 300 views on youtube. It's wild
Woah that may be like the second time I see actual footage of this game, ever!! I suck at rhythm games but I am in! What are advertisements for when I hear about this game 2 years after its release. It is bookmarked now~ 🎶
Oh my gosh! One of my favorite games ever!!! I had NO idea Eternity Edition existed at all, I love that there’s more Everhood! I’m really really excited to watch your playthrough of this game :)
As that one girl who asked for a rhythm game music analysis long time ago. This pleases me But... *i need MOAR* There's so many games rhythm games music that just BLOWS MY MIND. Arcade ones like WACCA, DDR, Maimai, Jubeat, etc. Or even mobile ones like Arcaea, Cytus 1 & 2, Deemo, Phigros, Tone Sphere, etc. If you're interested, I recommend starting with Tiferet by Xi&Sta from Tone Sphere. Absolute banger. Hope you have a great day! ❤
Really hoping these additions will come to PC as I don't have an Xbox or PS. Going through the original was a trip though. I got it through a Humble Bundle, and decided to just boot it up one evening. At first thinking "Oh it's just an Undertale wannabe" it took me meeting the gnomes to realize "Oh wait, this isn't Undertale. This is just Guitar Hero on ALL the drugs." in the absolute best way possible. It kept defying my expectations in a fun way, and by the time I reached the end and realized the journey I had been on, the rays of a rising sun lit up the tear on my cheek. What a fun, unique game with absolute bangers. Even though I can't beat Revenge for the life of me.
The victory song is a great example of this game's musical comedy too, victory moments are often accented with jingles, short little tunes since most folks click to continue after a few seconds. By making the victory song so long and over the top bombastic is a gag in itself to subvert expectations. If that alone isn't another perk for folks to go check this game out idk what is because having witty dialog is one thing, but using the core mechanic of your game 'music' and apply it to *everything*, including the comedy of the game, is an art in itself.
@@MarcoMeatball Hey bud if you like musical adventure games that everyone overlooks, PLEASE look into Sayonara Wild Hearts. It's basically an album but you control the epic music videos for each song
Love seeing one of my favorite gems get more notice. I'm very excited for the new one, I can't even call it a sequel, I don't know how it will be continual to the original.
i want to recommend you some ost from Fuga Melody Of Steel, "Flowers On The Trails " and "wherever the wind take us" a two incredible ost from a so much underrated game
when you make the videos about introducing people to video game music i really hope hope they do not blast these themes with some 15 Dollar bluetooth speakers. This would be a crime. i love these videos.
Oh yeah I forgot to ask did you play every last new everhood songs for the eternity edition? If not I would love to see some video or livestream of you playing them!
Everhood is that one unfortunate carrot on a stick for me. I LOVE rythm games, and everhood's ost is great (i have revenge on my normal playlist)......but I have flash sensitivity making it something i can't really play. On another note, have you gone through deemo at all Marco? Its a simple but beautiful story (still breaks me) with some absolutely beautiful songs. It got a PC remake, however imo the mobile version is still my preferred go to for its charm.
If you are still interested, the developers have added a 'Photosensitivity Mode', where they remove a lot of background effects and flashing lights. It's stated at the bottom of the Steam page. For example, there is a song/battle with the Shopkeeper, who has a hippy vibe, but is extremely toned down in the photosensitivity mode. Or the white rabbit battle, where the bright light is removed entirely.
Marko, how is the idea to react to this Houkai Gakuen 2 - Jyahnar character song「Incarnation」 ? This is due to Honkai Inpact , or rather the previous game
Can you listen to the Ace Combat 7 Daredevil. It isn't all opera, but there is an amazing part that hits so good lol. I just want to see you speechless from it like Skyrim. :)
Thank you for saying it isn't a rhythm game, because it really isn't at all. I did pick it up because you said it was the dark souls of rhythm games in another video. I was a bit disappointed with that point when I played it, but it still seems like a good game, but not for any of the reasons you outline in this video.
I love what your doing and If you want an Amazing music game i recommend friday night funkin aka fnf one song i like is called MILF it's an Amazing good song and really good mod like sonic.exe vs fnf and the others mod 😮 je suis français bonne journée
it's not a rhythm game tho. the notes fly out from the enemy with the beat. you do not jump to the beat. it's weird. Everhood 2 announced for March 4 now
It's a great game, until the (spoilers) "Genocide" begins and... omg, I got really bored playing this part honestly. But like I said before, it's a good game.
Marco, please. People stopped saying "The Dark Souls of [X]" 5 years ago because it never made sense. Dark Souls is not that difficult, it does not hold the meaning you think it does.
love that everhood is getting the recognition it deserves
