OMG , as a 66 life long saxophone lover and woodshedding player, your saxophone playing of these songs of my youth are absolutely right on and amazing . Love it …..
Love that you credited the people who played these iconic lines and in many cases are usually not recognized for their great work by the general public.
Supertramp is is this section. I own the soprano sax that was used to record the "Breakfast in America" C.D.! I bought it in 1997 on a fluke as I was shopping around, tried out a horn, like it and then they told me who was selling it!
Oh boy I don’t know what was in the water in 70’s everything sounded so wonderful and magical. Real music, my type of music. All songs you played were my favourites and you nailed those solos!!
@@GetYourSaxTogether you played all those songs with excellence! Who cares if it was from the wrong decade! We appreciated your effort you do to share with us all this information. Thank you!
Wow killer sax playing . As a side note i play in a band in Portland, Oregon with Chris Mercer who did the original solo on the Bryan Ferry tune. He’s about 70 now. He will get a kick out of seeing this ! All the best Jamie
Fabulous playing. I am 67 years old and remember all these songs so well. You have covered the styles and sounds so well! Congratulations on your channel. What you are doing for the next generations of players is great. Keep up the great work. Regards Robin Habermehl Canada.
I just want to say THANK YOU for these solos of some of the greatest songs. I've wanted to play theses solos all my life and now I can. I haven't played sax in many years but now i'm encourge to play again.Thank you and God bless
Pete Christlieb! YEAH! Lately, I mean before this pandemic thing, he'd been playing small, really small venues. I think he does it not for the money, but just to have an outlet to play, I believe he resides here now (Seattle metro area). The man is a legend. Much appreciation for this compilation, Jamie.
I've been doing piano classes for one year now and I've just done a test class of saxophone and I loved it! I hope to start taking more classes soon and even buy the instrument, it has an amazing sound! In the meantime I'm making a playlist in youtube music with the best sax songs and your videos are helping me a lot! Thank you very much! I've also just subscribed to your channel and you are awesome man!
It don';t get better than this guy ! You make it look so easy, and so in tune too, Top man . thanks for the sounds I wanted to cover, but failed miserably,
Once again a great list. There could easily be a longer list: Listen To What The Man Says Jazz man by Carole King Soul Vaccination Aja Take A Walk On The Wild Side The Stones song with Sonny Rollins Ooh Baby Baby(or is that '80's?) by Ronstadt Tuesday Heartbreak Too Hot by Kool and The Gang So much great music from that era. Awesome! The amount of work to prep all those solos to this level, plus the backing tracks, the notation. You are a generous man Jamie! I apologise for my previous negativity. 🙁
@@GetYourSaxTogether It takes courage to apologise in public. However, criticism should be possible providing it is constructively intended. Please let me know when you do a sax cover album... I want to purchase the first copy!!! LOVE IT! got a smile on my face listening to this podcast that you couldn't slap off if you tried lol!
What a brilliant series this is turning into. The web is full of 'best of' sax solos, but none covering this breadth and maybe the odd one close to (but not at) this quality. When this ruddy pandemic is history got to see you play live. Ritz Hotel on a Friday night perhaps?
Incredible selection of sax solos and magnificent interpretation, thank you very much Jamie you are a reference of the international community of saxophonists, cordial greetings Master Jamie !!!

Awesome video! So much work, but you have an incredible talent to transcribe and play so many amazing original solos Jamie. Also great to hear the styles of Brecker and Sanborn back to back like that. It would be awesome to hear some spyro gyra and a Jay Beckenstein solo from Morning Dance or Rasul. Much love from France 🤟
I appreciate all the tutorials you have on the site, but I have to admit that it's great just to sometimes relax and listen to you play. Thanks for all you do.
You make it look so easy, although I know from experience it’s anything but! My biggest issue is I don’t practice which is usually because the sheet music is always the vocal parts! So big thanks for doing the actual sax 🎷 lines 😊🤟😊
And to think I still play a few of these with my group! Baker Street (same key and much longer), Just the Way You Are (different key due to singer, much longer, and on tenor), and Old Time Rock N Rolll (different key due to singer). I'll tell them to listen to this and maybe once COVID lockdown ends, get some these added. Great job as always!
