Tips for anyone trying to play a healer and having trouble doing so: 1) Spec at least 5 points in Vitalism. I'm not sure what level this is available, but prioritize it among your skill points. 2) You want a minimum of Holy Bolt, Antithesis, Mirror Light, and Skewer. 3) At 5 points in Vitalism, you get the passive "prayer" and "divine response". Prayer will make Holy Bolt and Skewer hit 30% more damage for PVE (non-dungeon). Divine Response will make Holy Bolt and Skewer hit for 150% more damage for PVE (non-dungeon). Both of these also speed up your cast time. 4) To get "prayer", you have to use antithesis, mend, or fervent healing (only 1 heart counts). Prayer lasts for 7 seconds. 5) To get "divine response", you have to stack Prayer 5 times. So, either through combos, or just spamming Antithesis, build prayer stacks until you get Divine Response. Divine Response will last for 24 seconds. Refresh Prayer by using Fervent Healing or Antithesis. Mend will remove Divine Response and give Renewal (not helpful for damage). 6) If you use "Mirror Light" on yourself, Holy Bolt will heal you while doing damage. If you use "Mirror Light" on an enemy, they will take more damage. Using the above, you will find that skewer will either 1 shot, or almost 1-shot most mobs, and then holy bolt finishes them while giving you a heal or 2. Don't forget to refresh divine response. It's kind of a long wind-up, but worth it - makes questing, leveling, and grinding so much easier.
one additional note for the labor-issue: if you claimed your pack and still dont regenerate labor, go to the Credit-Shop, there is a "Hereafterstone" for 1 Credit, which you should buy then. Every player should've received 1 free Credit for this already. This way, the shop triggers your labor regeneration, according to the info from Discord.
This game has really cool concepts I haven't seen in other mmos. But It's just really convoluted for some things. This guide was really helpful and I'm hoping I can slowly understand the other aspects of the game, thanks a bunch.
Upgrading your weapon is extremely important. In ArcheAge, the weapons you have are even more important than other gears and armors, specially Ranged weapons. In Aion, for example, weapons are very important , but the armor and accessories are vital too, mandatory for PvP. So basically you have to analyze if the mmo game you are currently playing is skill based mmo, or gear based, or even event based mmo. 95% of the quality of your character in ArcheAge depends upon your weapon level and its enchantments. GuildWars 2 for example is more skill based game. As for Aion, some players say it is overly gear based game, others say it is absolutely event based mmo. We are happy to have Sywo as our friend to discuss about which statement is more correct. For example, depending if the event is very good, in Aion you could complete your gear set through runs in this event instead of grinding all the way up to farm the very same gear.

Seems I am on same server as well \O// *A note for gear upgrade, once you get stats on them, do not upgrade again until you found the stat that your class need (Like Int for casters). You can break the gear down with Adventurer's Evenstone from a Blacksmith (NOT the normal Evenstone) and get all the upgrade mats back to try reroll on a new item. *Another tip: You can redo all your customized looks in the Salon in the left top side of Marketplace for just 1 gold, the item is sold by General Merchants (Blue Salt HAMMER). (ETA: this is a limited offer, so use it while it's cheap!)
I feel I should point out that the Bow should NOT be broken down (atleast until a fix) as the merchant sells replacements for all weapons except the bow. Break it down and it's gone. Edit - This has now been patched and the bow has been added to the 1h Explorer weapon box).

Hold the phone, when you upgrade armor and weapons using synthesis materials, all the starting armor and weapons have NO STATS AT ALL on them... Even in this video you showed ( @8:20 ) the radiant explorers staff with 167.9 dps and 199 magic attack. However that weapon had absolutely no int or wis or cast speed or hp or any stat at all on it. How do you put stats on weapons that don't have any stats? Are weapons that have stats worse than higher rarity weapons without stats? Are the only 2 important stats dps and magic attack? Do int / wis / all other stats not matter? I desperately need help answering this question, because no matter how I look at it, a staff with +20 int is better than a staff with 0 int and a high dps number, because in my brain dps is weapon damage and int is skill damage. Someone somewhere help answer this for me please.
Look at the bottom of the tooltip. That staff rolled Agility....which you will of course want to reroll for intellect. You can reroll either by grading it up through synthesis, or break it down using the adventure stone ( NOT THE EVENSTONE) and do it over again and pray for int.

@@WilliamHaist it gets it's first stat after you awaken it the first time I believe. So the base explorers weapon and armor won't have anything. Once you synthesize it up then use an Awakening scroll on it, it will then roll it's first stat.

Awesome guide, thx. I'm currently lvl 25, when do I start upgrading gear?. I applied one of those green synthesis mats on a cloth piece and it turned blue, but I'm unable to break down with those adventures stones, as I switched over to leather. Any thoughts or maybe a more in depth guide on gear.
Sorry for the length, but here's some details. Part 1) Basic Gear -> First awakening Doing your main story questline, you get 2 boxes of armor and 1-2 boxes of weapons, a bow, and an instrument of your choice. These are your basic armors. As you work your way along the questline, you are granted green "infusions" they look like little bottles. You use 1-2 infusion bottles on each piece to bring it up to Arcane (purple). At this point, you need awakening scrolls. You get these from the mainstory line around level 30. You will be given 11 scrolls through a few different quests. You use 1 scroll on each armor and the 4 weapon slots. The armor will go back to "green" (Grand) and have a new stat. This stat is your "primary" stat and will be highlighted in green color ("Bundle 1"). It may or may not be the stat you want or need. It's random and provides 1 of the 5 main stats (Intelligence, Strength, Agility, Spirit, and Stamina). I'm not going to go into which stats are for what, you can see that in-game if you mouse over them. Part 2) First Awakening -> Second Awakening Continuing on your main story quests, you will get blue infusions and new scrolls around level 40. This time you will need to use the infusion bottles to increase your armor and gear from "Grand (green)" to "Heroic (orange)". When you reach "max grade" or heroic, you will need to use the rank 2 awakening scrolls, in the same manner you did previously. You will get an additional stat from "Bundle 2" which is secondary effects. These are things like damage reduction, move speed, cast time, healing, magic, or attack power, shield block, parry, evasion, toughness, resilience, etc. There's a lot of different possibilities - and explaining all those secondary stats would take a lot and the best ones to get are highly dependent on your play style, class, archetype, etc. As you infuse this gear, you will have the opportunity to reroll your main stat if it is something sub-optimal. You get 1 free re-roll per grade. In this tier, you can have 3 re-roll chances (Grand -> Rare, Rare -> Arcane, Arcane -> Heroic). You do not have to reroll if you don't want to. To do this, that same window where you apply infusions (Can get there from your inventory, on the bottom left "gear upgrade" button. Select "Replace effects" (or something similar) towards the top of that window. You will be able to see the stat you currently have with a little bubble/selector. Select it and hit "replace". This does not cost labor or gold. After the bar progresses, you will have a new stat that you will confirm or cancel. If you confirm, it will change to the new stat. If you cancel, it goes back to the old one (i.e. remains the same). This way, if you have a not so bad stat, like stamina but were hoping for agility and it rolls intelligence, you can decline the intelligence and keep the stamina. Whether or not you chose to re-roll these stats, you can awaken your gear to the next tier with the rank 2 scrolls. At this awakening you will gain a new stat. This will be from the secondary bundle described above. Part 3) Second Awakening -> Hiram Mainstory quest gets you your components. You will get purple infusions and new scrolls. This works the same way as before but your gear will start "blue (rare)" and need to be leveled to "unique (orange red)". You are given enough components for all your gear and weapons. You can re-roll either main (Bundle 1) stats or secondary (bundle 2) stats as many times as you have grades. If you did not reroll earlier, be careful as you cannot exceed 5 free re-rolls in the bank. If you have used all your free rerolls and are not satisfied, you can use an "ADVENTURER'S EVENSTONE" as described in this video to break down the gear. The item itself will vanish, but will give back all infusions and scrolls used in the process. You will need to buy a new armor piece or weapon from the armor or weapon merchants. Do NOT do this on your bow until the hotfix (which should be today) You can then start the process over of infusing, awakening, and re-rolling stats until you are happy with the 2 stats. Then you are ready to awaken to Hiram. Hiram is end-game gear. It is not min-max gear as Erenor is better, but much harder. If you awaken to hiram, you cannot go back to the quest gear and cannot get your infusions back. This will cost labor and gold to do. Part 4) Hiram The same principles of above apply, but it gets harder from here. The costs in gold go up significantly from the quest gear. If you are not prepared, you will run yourself broke fast. You will need to farm for your infusions, they will no longer be handed to you. Do this by grinding in Auroria (and Aegis) from Abyssal legions and your Hiram dailies. You can often find groups for this around server reset. Hiram is broken into 4 tiers. There are videos on this if you want a lengthy explanation - but a few things to note that are different from the quest gear: a) It is possible to fail an awakening, and could catastrophically fail resulting in crystallization of your gear. You can de-crystallize with honor (I think the cost is 10,000). You cannot use crystallized gear b) It's expensive c) It takes way way more infusions at the higher levels

Thank you so much for making this video ... almost gave up on the game cause as a new player, it felt so overwhelming and every other video just didn't do that great at explaining it .... Just one question for anybody though ... have you guys also had issues keeping connected to the servers? Sometimes ill log in and every time I do and see my character, I will just disconnect right away and it will say "The gods have disconnected you!" ... problem is, i can never at any point, actually play.

New players can't go wrong with a single physical damage class, or 2, and Occultism. If the speed from Occultism's passives doesn't save them, Play Dead will.
Yes, but I think by now it should be fixed? Also when you get in game, open the cash shop and buy the free "Hereafter stone" from the crystal shop - this free purchase should trigger the Labor regen if needed.
Guys, I've been looking for a good MMO that is fun and not a mindless grindfest over hours upon hours while the only fun thing you can do is chat with your guildies while you mindlessly grind... people say ArcheAge is this game and that Unchained is NOT P2W and that you can finally enjoy a good world MMO that has everything... both PvP and PvE stuff to do with dungeons and raids and stuff... I like both PvP and PvE but because PvE takes 90% of our playing time as MMO players I want a GOOD PvE experience and it's very important for me... I've been looking for some reviews but it hasn't been helpful since all they talk about is login queue issues (which is ok at launch and I think they are exaggerating), dying to PvP players while questing (which is normal in an open world PvP game if it doesn't happen 10 times per hour) and the fear that it will become P2W again... Also I hear the game is bursting with people and new players... so I'm really excited to try it... should I give it a shot? (please be objective about it... I really don't want to waste my money on buying a bad game... it's not like I'm some filthy rich dude)
The game is a really good MMORPG and no P2W. But it is a "grind fest". Fun, and gives you a lot of options on what you can do in-game, but still grindy. Aren't all MMORPGs grindy tho? :D
@@PaulDoesDamage No, I agree that all MMOs are grindy... but there's a difference between grinding for gear by doing different things and doing what BDO does... which is solo grinding one specific kind of monsters for months... It's so much more interesting when you do more than just kill one specific kind of mobs and you can grind by performing different quests and tasks... also raids and dungeons are a nice way to have fun with guildies and friends that again BDO completely lacks cause it's an empty piece of trash of an MMO with an absolutely flawless combat system...
I just reach Glitterstone (the lvl 30 city) and when I wanted to leave the city to continue the green quest, there were two badasses giant armors shooting me cannon balls from really far away WTF, you can dodge the shots but man if they hit you like 30% hp lol, Im scared now I wont leave the city xDDD they are lvl 55
Ye this game is great for new players. Queue and crash for days and don't get to play. Meanwhile players who have been on since the start have been abusing the archepass quest for 700+ labor free gold per day and have Hiram 3 already. They are then gonna come back to your questing zones and kill you over and over again and prevent you from playing. Awesome!
ETA: Sorry I just read that atm you cannot get another bow. For other weaps though (You can buy a weapon crate at a Weapons merchant for just 5 silver, choose bow and then redo all the upgrades.)
Hello i will buye a new pc in 2 months and im planning to play this game pls will i be able to get land in 2 months to get a house or all the land will be already taken and if yes i can still get land how can i doit pls ? Trion Worlds suspended my account because I requested a refund. I did because I found it impossible to play the game due to it's 4+ hour waiting queues. I only got into a server once in a week and then played only 25 minutes because the game crashed. I requested a refund so they suspended my entire account. All I can say is, they damn well better refund my money now.

If you have used all your free rerolls and are not satisfied, you can use an "ADVENTURER'S EVENSTONE" as described in this video to break down the gear. The item itself will vanish, but will give back all infusions and scrolls used in the process. You will need to buy a new armor piece or weapon from the armor or weapon merchants. Do NOT do this on your bow until the hotfix (which should be today)
You can then start the process over of infusing, awakening, and re-rolling stats until you are happy with the 2 stats. Then you are ready to awaken to Hiram. Hiram is end-game gear. It is not min-max gear as Erenor is better, but much harder. If you awaken to hiram, you cannot go back to the quest gear and cannot get your infusions back. This will cost labor and gold to do.
Part 4) Hiram
The same principles of above apply, but it gets harder from here. The costs in gold go up significantly from the quest gear. If you are not prepared, you will run yourself broke fast. You will need to farm for your infusions, they will no longer be handed to you. Do this by grinding in Auroria (and Aegis) from Abyssal legions and your Hiram dailies. You can often find groups for this around server reset. Hiram is broken into 4 tiers. There are videos on this if you want a lengthy explanation - but a few things to note that are different from the quest gear:
a) It is possible to fail an awakening, and could catastrophically fail resulting in crystallization of your gear. You can de-crystallize with honor (I think the cost is 10,000). You cannot use crystallized gear
b) It's expensive
c) It takes way way more infusions at the higher levels

Also, a small update - the bow is added to the merchant in the 1H weapon box, but be careful - reports of glitches are still occuring with the bow. For example, you get the stats you want, but when you upgrade to hiram it re-rolls your stats. Just something to be aware of. I dont know the status on a fix.

Thank you so much for making this video ... almost gave up on the game cause as a new player, it felt so overwhelming and every other video just didn't do that great at explaining it .... Just one question for anybody though ... have you guys also had issues keeping connected to the servers? Sometimes ill log in and every time I do and see my character, I will just disconnect right away and it will say "The gods have disconnected you!" ... problem is, i can never at any point, actually play.

New players can't go wrong with a single physical damage class, or 2, and Occultism. If the speed from Occultism's passives doesn't save them, Play Dead will.

Also when you get in game, open the cash shop and buy the free "Hereafter stone" from the crystal shop - this free purchase should trigger the Labor regen if needed.

Guys, I've been looking for a good MMO that is fun and not a mindless grindfest over hours upon hours while the only fun thing you can do is chat with your guildies while you mindlessly grind... people say ArcheAge is this game and that Unchained is NOT P2W and that you can finally enjoy a good world MMO that has everything... both PvP and PvE stuff to do with dungeons and raids and stuff... I like both PvP and PvE but because PvE takes 90% of our playing time as MMO players I want a GOOD PvE experience and it's very important for me...
I've been looking for some reviews but it hasn't been helpful since all they talk about is login queue issues (which is ok at launch and I think they are exaggerating), dying to PvP players while questing (which is normal in an open world PvP game if it doesn't happen 10 times per hour) and the fear that it will become P2W again...
Also I hear the game is bursting with people and new players... so I'm really excited to try it... should I give it a shot? (please be objective about it... I really don't want to waste my money on buying a bad game... it's not like I'm some filthy rich dude)
The game is a really good MMORPG and no P2W.
But it is a "grind fest". Fun, and gives you a lot of options on what you can do in-game, but still grindy. Aren't all MMORPGs grindy tho? :D
@@PaulDoesDamage No, I agree that all MMOs are grindy... but there's a difference between grinding for gear by doing different things and doing what BDO does... which is solo grinding one specific kind of monsters for months...
It's so much more interesting when you do more than just kill one specific kind of mobs and you can grind by performing different quests and tasks... also raids and dungeons are a nice way to have fun with guildies and friends that again BDO completely lacks cause it's an empty piece of trash of an MMO with an absolutely flawless combat system...

I just reach Glitterstone (the lvl 30 city) and when I wanted to leave the city to continue the green quest, there were two badasses giant armors shooting me cannon balls from really far away WTF, you can dodge the shots but man if they hit you like 30% hp lol, Im scared now I wont leave the city xDDD they are lvl 55

There are dungeons, but the gear isn't great, end game is more about fighting world bosses, events and pvp battles with 100-200 players.

Ye this game is great for new players. Queue and crash for days and don't get to play. Meanwhile players who have been on since the start have been abusing the archepass quest for 700+ labor free gold per day and have Hiram 3 already. They are then gonna come back to your questing zones and kill you over and over again and prevent you from playing. Awesome!

ETA: Sorry I just read that atm you cannot get another bow. For other weaps though (You can buy a weapon crate at a Weapons merchant for just 5 silver, choose bow and then redo all the upgrades.)

Trion Worlds suspended my account because I requested a refund. I did because I found it impossible to play the game due to it's 4+ hour waiting queues. I only got into a server once in a week and then played only 25 minutes because the game crashed. I requested a refund so they suspended my entire account. All I can say is, they damn well better refund my money now.
Advice for new players:Don't buy this game right now, you will only sit in server queues. Until that changes, avoid it.

@Goucci Aion Publisher has changed. Trion no longer exists in a sense. Everyone who worked there bar 3 people got fired and replaced.
