I've read Cradle Lake and The Floating Staircase, both four stars. I wrote a very long review for Cradle Lake and a very short one for The Floating Staircase which probably means I enjoyed the former more because I had more to say about it (without reading the reviews I barely remember anything about either).

I found "The Night Parade" to be a superb narrative, and confess that I may have been slightly more biased to enjoy it due to identifying quite strongly with its primary protagonist as a father of young girls myself.

I felt the same way about this one. I loved Bone White and am looking forward to reading December Park soon. This one fell a little flat but the writing was really good and I think I have 3 stars as well.

Good review, man! I haven’t read this one yet. I’ve only read “Snow” and “The Floating Staircase”. Staircase wasn’t amazing, in my opinion, but I had so much fun with “Snow”. It was really entertaining read. I’d recommend that one, for sure, if you haven’t touched it, yet.

Just recently subscribed to your channel. I too am an author. I published a few books years ago to with Lulu. POD. I'd love to send you a book and have you do a review. You seem very hard to please and for writers that's the biggest challenge. Readers like you.

Wish you would have enjoyed it more. I really liked it but I read it before Firestarter by King, when I was reading Firestarter I thought about Malfi getting inspired by that book also the same with Cradle Lake and Pet Sematary. At least it passed the 50 page test

I enjoyed it and the characters will likely stay with me. I definitely don't regret reading it. Thanks again for sending me the book, and you're right, it had strong FIRESTARTER vibes. The more I think about it, the more I realize how much he took from King's book. Holy shit.

Wow.. what a amazing book, Fantastic story that showcases the bond between father and daughter. It's set in the backdrop of a deadly virus that has plagued the US and created disharmony with most of society. While "apocalyptic-doomsday" books are aplenty, Malfi weaves so much human emotion into this story that it's original and unique in its own right. The presentation is done through flashbacks that are mixed with the present day. That sort of storytelling really enhanced the book for me. Well done.
