I was at a lot of these football games, including being on the sideline at the Fiesta Bowl. And believe it or not, it was the first one shown (‘98 Civil War) that was the loudest I’ve ever heard a stadium get even though it only held about 20,000 at the time. Beating oregon in 2OT after prematurely rushing the field after we thought we won the first time was unreal. Most fun game I’ve ever been to. Thanks for posting this, brings back lots of memories.

This is why the big 12 or the ACC should add Oregon State. It’s a good sports program all around and it’s a really good academic program.

I grew up in Eugene as a Beavers fan and this coming up Saturday is going to not only going to be my first college football game but my first Beavers game. I'm watching all the hype videos to get pumped for the game.

Thank you for posting this. I would love to see more Beaver highlights in its entirety. I'm so sick and tired of Oregon thinking they are bigger and better than us when really, we have a better winning record in bowl games than they do, we lead the series in most sports, Oregon dropped wrestling for baseball because they were tired of us owning them in that sport and even on baseball we still lead the series against them, we also were very competitive aganist them back whe we had track, and the students who attended and graduated from OSU happen to get better jobs and better pay than the students at UO. I'm not trying to make this comment controversial in any way, but I would like to see the Ducks and their fans humbled.

Imagine if we had all that Nike money! That's really all Oregon has over us. Hopefully when Daddy Knightbucks passes who ever gets put in charge decides they don't want to fund a college team. Knight reminds me of Ray Krok of McDonald's fame, didn't really start the company, just happened to be in the right place at the right time and made some smart moves, ill give him that.

@gortond21 They were ranked number one for a little while that year. Fairly impressive for a school that size. Also, at the time of Ralph Miller's retirement they were the fifth winingest program in the country. The elite 8 team from a few years back deserved a mention.
