I have a Freddy's here where I live. The closest Steak N Shake is 45 minutes away. I wished it was switched because Steak N Shake is waaaaaay better than Freddy's!
I love Steak n Shake! The Garlic Steakburger is to die for (but salty) or the Frisco Melt! Those onions will haunt you in the night. They have the strongest onions ever.

When you say "out of the way" how out of the way (and if you did indeed say my apologies but I'm not gonna go back and see) because the closest Freddy's to me is 1.5 hours away in a town I'd have no other reason to be in except too eat a fast food burger. I dunno....
Use to have a Steak n Shake near me. Always got the combo #1, the double with cheese. But the place closed in less than a year. I liked the burgers, but the fries were weak. It was a solid burger and cheap. I miss it. 🍔
Steak and Shake is way better than people give them credit for imo. Not sure why all of them seem to have such bad reviews online. I would personally put them above almost all other fast food chains. I prefer their style as well.
I can't do mustard on a hamburger. Where I live (NYC area) the fast food chains do not put mustard on their burgers, but I have noticed that in other regions, a McD's burger for example, will include mustard. Probably a regional thing, but I have been trained to not have mustard on a burger.
Steak N Shake started where I live so we still have 3, great, greasy ass burger. I do the double and fries for the $4 meal and add cheese sauce for the fries. Decent bargain
@@PapiEats My steak and shake used to be open in the mornings but they stopped breakfast and don't open till lunch hours they used to sausage egg and cheese biscuit that I liked a lot home style scrambled egg fold on the flat top grill and some silver dollar hash browns with like chives green stuff in there way better than Burger Kings coin hash browns they were so good they had flavor to them
No Steak 'n Shake locally or nearby. Use to visit them when I traveled more. I liked them. Freddie's is NOT BETTER than Five Guys or Culver's but we each have our own opinions. Safe Journey! CHOLULA!!!

I’ll be honest I’m the guy who complains about things being too salty 😂 I have been sensitive to salt even when I was younger. Black pepper is my favorite shaker of the two.
Winston had 2 and they both sadly closed in the past 2 years. They had $4 meal deals when I was in high school and they were open 24hrs, that was the spot! I hadn't eaten there in years but I was sad to see it go
steak n shake is an underrated gem, no reason for it to be the dying brand it currently is, and has been. they need a marketing dept overhaul or something
I've only had Steak & Shake once, way back in like 2011 or 2012. At the time they seemed pricey. Service was awful. I don't even remember what we ordered except the shake. They didn't last long here. Maybe it was the workers who made the experience less the good. The price you paid though, compared to most places now, is pretty damn good. I'm not a yellow mustard fan but otherwise the burger looked pretty tasty.

The restaurant was kinda dirty...weird crowded dirty family vibe...slow service...the food ended up being great though.

Even cheaper if you get the 4-4-4 meal, "$4.44" no drink, don't need to spend $2.50 on a drink, bring have your own pop or water. Cheers Papi.
