Yes, but with face and skin protection you may be able to go out for short periods, though the longer you can stay inside the better
The radiation would last thousands of years, a week is not enough time for the radiation to die down. You’d have to leave the entire area to be safe from the radiation.

That is an exaggerated number. Most of what people understand about a full scale nuclear war are based on antiquated propaganda and anti-nuclear activists. Nuclear winter is a myth, as most modern bombs aren’t powerful enough to launch debris into the stratosphere. The ozone layer would not be cooked off like this says, and there are barely 1000 warheads in active status ready to launch. Every nuclear bomb on Earth could be detonated and still not cover the entire area of just Western Canada. The world is a big place
