    I often cross the creek between Alphington and Ivanhoe, on a pedestrian bridge, and although I haven't walked that way close to the heavy rainfall days, the extent of the flattened reeds along the creek banks shows the volume and height of water in recent downpours. Quite something. Anyway, water is life.

    I am parked up in the truck in Eltham and the Diamond Creek is much higher than normal and flowing fast.

    Not too flooded, Merri ck slightly burst lower banks, major rivers are only in minor flood now, thankfully it’s all easing
