iam a civil engineer According to is code 13920 :2016 . In bottom tension zone from edge apard 2d only we can give lap length . And lap length should be minimum 50 d . As per is code . Centre bottom lap shouldn't be provided . Only in compression zone. Aprt from edge from l/3 or l/4 0r you can give l /6 . Lap length . And when you are splicing in that junction minimum 150 spacing bar should be provided
