What a TREAT!!! After the late 60's models, the Chargers never got the respect they deserve. However with the rarity of these early 70's to mid 70's they look super. That 4 barrel and dual exhaust elevate this cars attractiveness along with the warm coloring scheme. I mean to walk up to this car and climb in to fire up that motor is electrifying. Very nice and Thank You for posting.
IT's so rare to find one with this color combination. That dark brown with the light tan vinyl top and interior is absolutely gorgeous. It's got more of a luxury vibe going which i really really love.
Beautiful example of the end of an era, the last year of the 3rd-gen Chargers; what followed in 1975 was no longer a true Charger. I remember as a teenager, I built a model of the 1974 Charger, that car was my dream car at the time. When I was 18, I bought a 1970 Charger 500, 383 Magnum and still own it, I'm 55 now. I'm glad I chose the '70, as time passed by, I appreciated the 2nd-gen body lines more.
Beautiful car. Friend of mine had a 74 in Black with a 400 in it and a white interior. Bought it from a friend of mines brother who purchased it new. This was in 1979. Car was probably the nicest looking Chargers ever. Eventually the 400 was pulled and a 440 was thrown in. This car looks virtually untouched which makes it really rare. Thanks for the memories watching this video!
😎 In 1974 I traded my 1968 Barracuda for one of these cars Mine was an opera window car that I installed the SE window appliances, matching the vinyl tops' color. Mine had a bench seat interior with the wild, but classy brown, black, orange stripe cloth insert interior. Light tan top and of course the BEST feature the was the same color as this car...!!! The color's name is "Dark Moonstone", and EVERYBODY always remarked about the color. It was beautiful !!!! Lotza metallic and what seemed like red and and green specks along with the regular metallic. Gorgeous!!! Wish I still had it !!!!
Had a 1974 Charger SE brand new with the Aztec package which gave you a special interior and a special Aztec Gold paint outside. It was fully loaded. I had it 10 years and sold it. It was a car I should have kept! It was an awesome driving car.
I'll be honest I'm not much of a Mopar and I do not care for Ford either I'm mostly a GM person. But I will have to admit this is a very nice looking ride it grabs attention it is attractive and it is cool to look at. I don't have the money to afford something like this but if I did I would buy it, because you just don't see hardly any of them anymore very rare to even see one on the road.
I'm a Bowtie guy (Tri-fives, Chevelles), but have been a closet Mopar enthusiast all my life. Always thought the styling of these Chargers was incredibly unique. Knew a guy in HS who had a Plymouth Satellite with the same styling. (In and odd twist, my driveway is full of newer Fords. The GM bailout did me in)
I wish Dodge had kept this wonderful body style one more year ('75) to have given it 5 model years. The "comparable" cars from GM were the Chevelle and LeMans, but were in no way comparable starting with the hideous 'collanade' coupes in '73. Despite THOSE, I do love the '73-''77 Monte Carlo and Grand Prix. The '75+ Charger was in the Cordoba body style.
I can highly appreciate that the mopar muscle cars where still being made up to the mid 70s and still managed to look like how a muscle car should despite having to comply with unorthodox emissions and doe regulations. Gm and ford by this point were producing uninteresting economy cars or really choked up touring cars, chevy at least still had the 2nd gen Camaro platform you can build off of, ford had that pathetic pinto premier mustang ii. I used to be more of a halfway between mopar and gm guy, but more so gm now because chrysler is being ruined by that horrible merger with psa and fiat. As for my opinion on ford, forget it i will never step foot in any modern ford after they made that 3v 5.4l triton disaster in the f150 and super duty with the flawed cam phasers and the flawed two piece design spark plugs 🤦🏼♂️
Reminds me of my very first car at 16 years old. In 1976. I went to the Dodge dealership with my dad and bought my '71 Dodge charger 383 automatic gold with tan interior... Also had a black hard top.. I paid only $1,750 for that car back then. Wish I had it now... I used to put so much wax on that car. You could sit on it and slide off the fender
The cig lighter scene. I remember back when I was 5 we were in my father's 69 Chevelle back in 1980 I was playing with the cig lighter and awed with how pretty red it turned and didnt know anything about heat and next thing I know I stuck my finger in it and cried like how a 5 yr old should. Lol
These are overshadowed by the 68-70 models Always liked seeing those 74 is even Rare to 71 the one everyone picks for performance by 74 the Dodge Charger was Becoming more of a personal Luxury coupe.
I know it is sold, but what did it sell for?? I had one like this years ago. The "Magnum" emblem was standard with the 360, since they did not have "360 Magnum" emblems made like in 1973. Unique to the 1974 Rallye with the 360 4bbl.
A bit of trivia: The hood emblems just say "Magnum" without the engine call out because in 1974 the 360 replaced the 340. So, in 1973, they had "340 Magnum" script emblems and they just had "Magnum" in 1974. Not sure why, maybe not enough lead time to have them mass produced via a mold? Who knows. I think they should have had them made!
I had a 67 cougar that had pretty much the same paint mine was called metal flake sugar brown, and I agree pictures don't do it justice you have to see it in person to get the effect 😎
I remember seeing Chargers all the time in 1974 unfortunately the big block 440 was gone. Not sure if the 383 was available in 1974 my guess is that it was not.
I don't even think I'd say it was detuned. The 74 E58 was the first time the 360 wasn't a gutless truck engine, and it made more power than the 1973 340 that it replaced.
Are you sure this paint isn't Bronze? I had one that looked almost the same color combo but I had the Bronze metallic with the black Rallye stripes. This looks like a repaint car just doesn't look Brown. Big difference but it's your car you should know what you have!
To be fair, extremely few '70 Chargers had the 426 Hemi option. Most of them were 335-hp 383 Magnums or 375-hp 440 Magnums. But indeed, the weak, smog emissions-controlled options after 1972 did the Chargers no favors.

She's a beauty. This gen of charger doesn't get as much love as it should. My dad had 73. Love these

10 movies. The Fast And Furious series gave respect to the '70 model

He said 2nd gen. but its a 3rd gen. Great looking car.
@@chandoso8593 yup, best body to me
You caught that too!
I love my 74 Charger that I've owned as my 1st car for almost 30 yrs now.

Absolutely gorgeous, so rare and perfect. And those Cragers...WOW. Everyone has their price...but could never sell that car.
The 400 and 440 remained on the option list for '74 also.
My first car. It had a 400 engine. Love it
These chargers never got the love but it’s awesome
THE BEST LOOKING CHARGER THAT I SEEN ON THIS SITE ESPECIALLY FOR A 1974 😊

Just bought a ‘74 383 rally! Super clean as well :)
I love it.
@jimdandy8686 yeah it has a ‘71 383
I had a new 74’ Dodge Charger SE, same color, tan interior. 318, auto. Dodge called the color, Moonstone. Great car.

Nice car. I have a 1973 Rallye 440 auto. Bought it in 1976.
Cool Dalton, thank you for sharing and your APPRECIATION

Look at all that extra storage room in front of the radiator. Beautiful car and we will never see the like produced again.
love watching your videos you never know what your bringing out next but this car is awesome all away around
The video quality of this one seemed to be brighter and clearer, on an awesome car, too!
Nice. Love the Crager's on this too!
It's beautiful I had one when I was 17 and I loved it
reminds me of my '74 Runner from back in the day
It is a 3rd generation Charger. 1st generation was 66 and 67. I
Like this body style but performance was way down.
Beautiful car. Sooo 70s. We had many shades of brown down here in Australia.
Wow, those bumper guards!
Last of the B bodies.... We are lucky enough to have one that we are restoring now. Same color with a 440....
Lol
1st Gen and 3 Gen have always been my faves.
Like to know how much she went for...
In 1979 that in dash doobie lighter in my 1974 Charger got a lot of use.
Nice car i remember when this car came out

That’s a nice ride

318, 360, 400, 440 were all available.
Love it, always like this body style
Beautiful color
I just saw one light blue here in sunnvale calif 🇺🇲1 25 2024
That's my wedge-shape Charger!!! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhh!
I need that, man!
Seriously, how much?
I don't even think I'd say it was detuned. The 74 E58 was the first time the 360 wasn't a gutless truck engine, and it made more power than the 1973 340 that it replaced.
Clean & Mean !!! Nice MOPAR
Man, that's a nice car!!!!
74 is a 3rd gen but still a beautiful car
I believe that's called "Spanish Gold Metallic"........
i love these cars color is nice to
What color is that car
The hood bulge should be blacked out to match the stripes - after all, it is imitating a Charger Rallye. Nice car, though !!
Are you sure this paint isn't Bronze? I had one that looked almost the same color combo but I had the Bronze metallic with the black Rallye stripes. This looks like a repaint car just doesn't look Brown. Big difference but it's your car you should know what you have!
brown....... cant get much more '70's than that
You can't beat the old Mopars. I hope Trump get's back in the White House so these old cars can stick around for us and our kids in the future.
Nice!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Its a beautiful car but you need the 440s torque and hp to offset the Charger's weight.
Nice
This would be a good one to put a Hellcat engine in.
That's my plan. 😉
@@jimjenkins3928any videos? I’d like to see it
This could have been the updated General Lee.
behind G.M. in styling.
Awesome car, only that's 3rd generation.
It's actually a 3rd generation charger.
I ❤️it……👍🏼
I bet this one sold fast.
That went quick…….😂
Tremendo Magnuth 400..:Rt
360 is a boat anchor.
👀...👍⭐😎⭐👍
The third gen only looks good in a few color this type of color blue b5
I had a 73 brougham the 360 motor was pce of crap in my car 360 is just a bad slow motor overall ide rather have a 340 by far
Theres enough room in the front for another motor.!
Why do people put pistol grip shifters on automatics...
That left rear 1/4 seems suspicious in the webs photos.. Curiosity .. Not mocking the car.. Just an experienced observation..
They should be damn lucky for the price 😅
Ash tray 😳 a place to keep your parents ashes 🙄
150hp terrible compared 70 charger 425hp
To be fair, extremely few '70 Chargers had the 426 Hemi option. Most of them were 335-hp 383 Magnums or 375-hp 440 Magnums. But indeed, the weak, smog emissions-controlled options after 1972 did the Chargers no favors.
No guarantee lol
