i didn't know about Airalo until your vids. such as useful thing to have for trips.
@@mrrehino agreed! It was such a game changer for me 😅😭🙏
@wanderlustalley who is Tristan?
Agreed!! The content options are limitless now!
She's a vision of loveliness, captivating hearts with her grace.
Yes, I would love to meet her one day and have her accept me for who I am. I'm 53 but look like I'm in my 30s. I'm single and very open to any age range
@@PrecisionAccshe has a boyfriend bucko
Ms. Personality. Loved her Cruise stuff but it’s great she’s transitioning away from that into other things as well.
thank you so much 🫶
@@wanderlustalley You’re welcome & thank you for the uplifting content! I appreciate it.
She has too
Finally had some time to watch this! Such a great video, Alley!!
All the food looks SO good! Looking forward to seeing more! 😃👍
Hehe thank you so much 🤗
That looked like a fun day. Thanks for sharing!
I sm very happy you are having fun exploring the food culture. It was the approach Anthony Bordain used to learn about a nation and its culture .
there truly is a lot you can learn about a culture through their food!
Alley, your vlogs are always a joy to watch. The fast paced content flows with such fluidity, always entertaining well done.😊👍🏾
Thank you so much! Glad you enjoyed 🤗
What a fantastic video! You both had a lot of fun!
Thanks ☺️🙏 it was a great time!
It is always hard to rebrand, glad to see you are making more content.
Great video. Food looked tasty, and the colors and editing was really good. For your "cant do it as a resident" I thought it could be a tourist-only tour or trip around the city? 🤔 But then I remembered - you mentioned something in one of your last videos... 😄So I guess we shall see. Thanks for posting again, love the Japan Vlogs so far! 🥰
Great stuff Alley….reminds me of my days in Japan many years ago. Keep them coming.
Thank you 😊
It's been ages (1986) since my last time in Japan but I'll never forget the amazing diversity of the food there. Thanks for rekindling some old memories. Happy to see you both enjoying yourselves so much in Japan. Looking forward to the next part of the adventure.
The food really is incredible and unlike anything a had previously experienced! Happy to help rekindle those memories 🤗
Snacking and napping. That had me hitting the subscribe button. It also helps that the channel is starting an arc in Japan. The Izakaya is the heart of casual dining and drinking. 😋
“Snacking & napping” should’ve been the title for this video 😂 thanks for subscribing 🫶☺️
Fantastic! I did enjoy all of the cruise ship video's, but this is even better as I have seen a lot of expat reviews from all kinds of places, and a lot of them from Japan. Yours are a little less "showy" but more personal but I still feel like you gave us enough visual to give us the feel of being there. Enjoyed it and looking forward to the next.
Glad you enjoyed it!🫶☺️🤗 thanks for joining along 🥳
Food looks so yummy! Thanks for taking us along! We need smell o vision to share in those wonderful smells. I would love to try those scallop skewers!!
We need a scratch and sniff option 😂
I really just watch these to see you smile. Looks like you had a lot of fun in Japan. I hope it was a great trip.
Aw thank you 🥲 it really was an awesome trip! 🫶
Food tours are the best! All of it looked oh so wonderful
It was! 😭 ❤️
Really nice video with totally pro editing. I haven't been back to Japan since Covid, but this makes me want to go back. Maybe next year.
Thank you 😊 how did you find Japan when you visited last time??
Hi @@wanderlustalley I've been to Japan around a dozen times over the last 30 years; always for business and most trips only have one day for sightseeing. So I've been to a lot of fancy restaurants doing business meals, but haven't experienced a lot of street food. Was that your first uni (along with the scallop)? When I first started visiting, there was no English anywhere. On trains, I would either have to count stops or memorize the kanji to get to my station. Nowadays, it's much easier to travel around for a Westerner who doesn't speak or read Japanese. Also, you see things like homeless people that I never saw in the 1990s. So it's changing. Slowly. Anyway, thanks for the video and the comment. I've enjoyed your content since the split-screen dance videos. Keep it up.
I’m not eating my way through Tokyo street food right now, but this is the next closest thing! Thanks allie!
Thanks for coming along for the journey ☺️🤗🫶
So fun! Fatty tuna, melon pan, crepes--i wanna try it all! (But you walked by the Golden Arches without stopping for some 'McSushi?'😂). Now I need a nap from the food coma I got from just watching this.
Unfortunately it wasn’t on the menu for this video 😂 maybe next time!
@wanderlustalley Ha! The power of 'yet...' It's discouraging that I've seen McDonalds in all but one country (Bhutan) that I've been. I call them the american embassy when I spot them 😁.
@wanderlustalley (Oops--Just looked this up. There are a lot more countries that don't have McDonald's than I realized, incl several I've visited in Asia, Africa and the Caribbean. There are whole websites on this, complete with interactive maps, etc 😮)
Wow Thanks for sharing the Japense street food Alexandra.
It looks interesting and I did not know that they have street food there. Hope To visit and try again.
Also your Japanese is really good. I’m impressed! How did you pick up the language?
Also how you are feeling since the injury?
Your videos are very bright and good to watch.
Thanks for sharing Alexandra!!! Keep making videos like this!!!
Take care!
Thanks for your kind comment 😊 The street food is incredible here! Would definitely recommend ❤️
I've lived/worked here for 2-3 years and took some classes on the side! Immersion helped a lot too 😃
Also, I'm feeling a lot better and no longer symptomatic 😊
@@wanderlustalley
Thanks for the kind words.
Wow Alexandra! That’s Great Japanese is a tough language to learn. Would love to learn and travel there one day.
I’m glad you are feeling better.
Looking forward to the Next adventure for you.
Take care of yourself!!!
Please keep the videos coming
You should give tours! I would love to experience everything you did in this video but I'd be too afraid to venture to Japan without someone who knows the language, the money, and could show us around! In college I was an exchange student in Spain, so I'd be comfortable there or in some other Spanish-speaking countries, but I feel like to get the most out of a trip to Japan I'd need someone to show us around!
Love street food. Food trucks have become a thing in my city the last few years! Beef croquet thing kinda looks like a hot pocket lol! Have fun smiley 😊
You're so right 😆
So amazing! Would love to know your journey learning Japanese as well! And Was that a "dink it and sink it I caught?! Mythical Beasts?!
A lot of it has been through immersion but the most helpful has been using Japanese Pod101! I'd say I'm conversational at this point 😊 As for the "dink it and sink it" I'll have to ask Tristan 😆
Love your cherry posts
Great video
Thank you so much ☺️
Making me miss all that good food out there. I want to go back. Those strawberries things are amazing. Next time I travel I will get airalo, thank you
The strawberries are my favorite! Definitely do; it's super convenient! 😊
@@wanderlustalley will do. Wish I know about it last year when I went to Japan.
Love it👍
hehe thank you 😊
Im glad to see a new content other than crew life. I worked on ships as well but then i realized that working in a crew ship is fun and a good experience but there is no work & life balance and risk of getting sick. It’s a good experience but i cant work that long to sacrifice my health.
I agree! I’m glad I got the experience but there’s other things to life
How much food can two people eat in one day? As much as possible! Great adventure! I watched this on Monday, but maybe it should have been posted on “Chews”day? Love the content and seeing you enjoy your best life.
Chews day definitely would’ve been more appropriate 😂🫶 thanks for coming along on the adventure 🥳
Great video! Are you going to do a video of the tours you provide?
Thank you! I'm going to try 😊 I shot some videos but I was trying to spend time with everyone and my clips are a bit limited 😆 There's a videographer in Ireland though so there will definitely be a video of that one!
You must have had a fun adventure looking around that see what food you can find.
I sure did 🤗 thankfully I had an idea of what I was looking for 👀
You're on the road. What else are you going to eat? It's like me making a video called "Eating ONLY What I Found in My Kitchen Cupboard for 24 Hours."
This encapsulates everything I miss about Tokyo and I have only been back in the states a month. These sweet people selling you things and being so proud of their food. The trains and the streets. I miss it so much. Thanks for sharing beautiful girl. Edit: I also miss those conbini egg salad sandwiches. LOL
The combini egg salad sandwiches are no joke 🙏😭🥳
Wow that airalo sponsorship is perfect timing for me
You should try out for the Amazing Race , I think you would be great at it
I need to try these next month when we go. Can you tell me where the place with the potato salad and mushroom skewers is? We will be staying near Toho studios.
That’s so exciting ☺️ I hope you enjoy! Omoide yokocho is definitely one of those places that can be hard to find a spot but a lot of food in the area is pretty similar! I’d feel it out when you get there instead of having a stall in mind! Also I don’t remember the name 😭😭😭
seems like the easiest challenge ever, eating out is so common, quality is high and prices are very reasonable
Having lived in Taiwan before. We'd sometimes get skewered sausages on the way home, and man I tell ya, the street venders does some magic to them cause they always taste amazing
I'll have to give it a try when I go to Taiwan!
Any plans to go back to a dancing job or just going to stick with TH-cam for the time being? Glad to see you feeling better and having fun.
Btw ad for seven seas Splendor is running on your channel :)
What no Takoyaki?? Makes and amazing video to watch... So delicious too!!
I didn’t see any spots all day! 🥲 there was a takoyaki stall I was thinking to try to squeeze in Harajuku but it was closed 😭
Oh, that was too bad. It is sooo good. We have learned to make it at home here in CA. Made it three times so far. Five dozen and there has never been any leftovers...😂
This has got to be the easiest challenge ever
Agreed
I'm Japanese but not living in Japan now. you made me to want to eat Japanese street food a lot:) Have to visit there soooon XD
It’s so tasty 😋 hope you get some soon 🤗
Did you used to live in Japan? Omg, I never knew and never heard you mention that before…😂😂🤨🤨
You're travelling by train next time. Hopefully you'll try one of their sleeper options- they look exciting
Was this recently filmed or a repost of one that was shot awhile ago? Thanks!
LOVED the video!
It was filmed in March!
woop
🥳
The 24 hour Japanese street food challenge!
Let’s gooooo
It’s crazy that they have a 7-11 in Japan!
So many questions! But Ill just ask three. Are you surprised about the amount of English in displays and menus, etc? Considering the sheer density of people, is pickpocketing a concern? And finally, do you think or know of any places in the US that can match the quality and taste of the foods in Japan? Glad you had an amazing time Alley. Keep doing what you're doing :)
In Tokyo, English menus and signage is pretty common! When you go out to the countryside it’s not as much 😅 pickpocketing is not a common concern! That’s not to say it couldn’t/ doesn’t happen but it’s not like other places and I don’t know anyone it’s happened to! ☺️ a lot of places in the US have a lot of westernized versions of Japanese food to match the American palette so it’s hard to say 🤔 I went to one omakase experience in Newport Beach and everyone who worked there was Japanese and it felt like a very authentic experience! I’m sure there’s more but it’s hard to come by 😅
Oh forgot to ask, did you always do dance/theater in middle school , high school now yore a retired Dance Captain not many can say that 😂
It's been quite the journey 😆
A movie I directed just played for a month at Tokyo's HUMAX CINEMA!!
How exciting! Congrats 🥳
Was the street food at the Tsukiji fish market reasonably priced for you? Seemed a bit expensive in my opinion but I don’t know the market that well
Things are definitely marked up as it’s a more touristy area 😅 but the things I got are also just naturally more expensive too! Fatty tuna is one of the pricier nigiri options at most sushi restaurants for example and the quality isn’t even as good 😅 so it’s hard to say!
Hello Mam, Big Fan
Please post a tutorial on your night hair heatless curls
Senso -ji temple early in the morning is not natural for a toerist, Only the metro is extreem busy. Also Jananese people has to work. And very late in the evening.
Genki Des ❤
❤️ Yatta!
Is the fried food in Japan and Asia healthier than in America? I absolutely love katsu, and those croquets look fantastic; unfortunately, I just got hit with a high cholesterol reading, and as a precaution I’m trying to avoid anything fried. I’d feel left out if I went to Japan and had to stay clear of most of its street food because of cholesterol.
On a happier note, I had never thought about scallop skewers. Looked absolutely delicious.
I will say that most of the street food isn’t fried! There are some that I had, but there is a lot of great, fresh options to try 😋
I would burst like mr. Creosote from all the food ...
Same 😅 thankfully we shared everything!
@@wanderlustalley 🥰enjoy your life as much as possible ... love watching you have fun
@@GjuroZlikovsky thanks for coming along 🫶have a lovely day!
Hello, how did you learn Japanese? Any recommendation? Planning to go in two years, want to learn a little bit the language.
Personally I've found the most helpful resource to be Japanese Pod 101 and Rosetta Stone!
What an amazing variety of foods. Do the locals only speak in Japanese and have any been surprised that someone from aborad speaks their languag or is it not a big thing? Love hearing your Japanese, not that I can speak it other than the odd phrase here and there.
Hehe thank you! I’d say it depends on the person 🤔 some interactions are so quick there’s not enough time to process (or words exchanged for that matter) 😂 but some people will stop in their tracks to say that they’re impressed 😅🙏 I have a lot more to learn before I think I can be impressive but especially with tourism in the rise it’s pretty common that foreigners don’t know Japanese
Glad you are enjoying real sushi and not some fakea** sushi roll or vegan sushi
Hello 👋 alley my Japanese 24 hour queen 👸 ❤️ looks like 👍 your loving ❤️ it in Japan! Have you used any Chinese alley ? Like I beg you a thousand pardons! Or the rats 🐀 are the rats thicker then mice over here ! lol 😂 but one thing you are is definitely a foody ! Love ❤️ you alley your buddy jamie ❤️ 😊🎉
Haha definitely a foodie, that’s for sure! 😁
Who takes your videos?
It depends on the video but it’s usually just me putting my tripod down! In this video Tristan took a couple of me but otherwise I set up shots and get b-roll :)
You got your omega 3’s
That’s an understatement 😂😅
I wish I could be Alley! 羨ましい!
😭🫶
Are you fluent in Japanese?
I’m conversational ☺️
Your "About" still says working on a cruise ship. Seems not quite accurate , maybe that should be updated ?
Thanks for pointing it out! Just changed🤗
Hey,
Stop it, stop it, stop it.
No good for you
Tomo Tomo arrogate.
Have to say it's gotten a little boring without her being on a cruise ship. Time to find another who's taken up the slack.
Sorry Alley, but that tuna made me want to throw up.
WHAT
When people make their personality all about their obsession with Japan it’s just cringy and comes off fake and forced…Japan is nice but Japan lovers take it way over the top…that is how you are sadly becoming since you got off the cruise…hoping this is only a short term sidetrack to the content you use to make. I’m a cruise fan not a Japan fan…
Ally don’t listen to this guy❤️
I hear where you’re coming from but I want to make a few things clear! 😁
1. I haven’t “[made my] personality about Japan.” That’s just the season of life I’m in because I’m IN Japan 🤗
2. Most of my adulthood life has been IN Japan and because of that Japan is a place that does make me excited; especially at this point because it’s my 2nd day in Japan (But also I’m just an excitable person). It’s a place where I did a lot of growing up, learned a lot about myself, and in that time the people and culture really really took me under their wing. So I think it makes sense I would be happy to be back😂 (I didn’t just fall in love with Japan cuz I like anime lol). 🥳
3. Plainly put, this is my channel so my content will reflect the season on life that I’m in. Cruising was a big part of my life and it could be again but at the end of the day I’m passionate about sharing my life experiences through my lens (regardless of what the topic is) 🫶
Hope that helps to clear things up :)
Nothing about Alley comes off as fake or forced. Her genuine personality is one of the main things people comment about. If you don't like Japan, you might prefer another cruiser video - Emma Cruises is great. Give that a try.
You are telling someone what to do with their TH-cam channel. Who does that? You.
OMG YES MELON PAN!!! And that guy was super sweet! Also, thanks for putting the name of ichigo daifuku, because I keep talking about it but I had no idea what it was called. 🫶
