Good tip about the dogs.I behave exactly the same way around them in Thailand for many years now..In Bangkok they hang out in packs.Daytime they are OK but after nightfall is a COMPLETELY different story.Same goes for some of the beaches down South.
It gives me the impression that in the day, the weather during this time is not inviting.
