    My mom taught me that young beets bleed out quicker than older beets so she always added vinegar to the water when boiling them to help stop the bleeding. It doesn't change the taste or anything. Where did you get that lovely pot you were boiling your beets in?

      Yes, sometimes i add vinegar as well. Thank you for reminding me!
      It's a huge 15 inch diameter pot. I got if from a restaurant supply store.

    Thank you this video is short, perfectly explained 🤩🙌😉. I’m will try a second planting of beets as well, it’s 7/4/24 so I’m guessing I will get a second crop😉

      Yes, keep the seeds cool. I like to cover them in the beginning to keep them cool and moist.

    Thank you Luli love! Here to can some beets for the first time. I think I'll make some kasva...Or yeah. Fermented stuff for hubby. He loves beets. I like them roasted with garlic, but that's about it.

      I love them roasted well! I'm harvesting my last beets for this year. The root i will store over winter and greens i will freeze. I should post my new video in a couple of days.

      I blanched and canned a ton of beet & swiss chard greens last year. I got about 32 pints! I seasoned them with roasted garlic and red pepper flakes. They've been such a treat this winter.
      We've eaten all our canned beets, so I came back to refresh my memory, cause I'll be canning beets for the second time following your directions. They turned out perfect!
      I bought a big, 25 pound sack of organic beets from Azure Standard. I just love being able to supplement good food from them. Though I try to grow as much as possible, sometimes we run short and Azure's root veggies are just amazing!

    How do you serve you beets? Do you just heat and serve or do you add anything to them? Just wondering if you had a different recipe.

      I make Russian winter salads that call for cooked beets. Perhaps, I will show these recipes later in the winter.

    Quick question:
    Do you have to change the water in your Pressure cooker if you are doing multiple batches?

      No, the water remains clean. You may need to add water to maintain the proper amount
