Was given the tent as a gift, and made the mistake of not setting it up before I took it on my first trip. Went to camp overnight with some friends in mild weather, that turned on us in the middle of the night. The fabric on the tent is so porous that water was soaking through the ceiling and the "rainfly"(read: Loincloth) they provided. It didn't rain that hard, an Ozark Trail 29.99 special would have handled the weather no problem and they're awful too. The set up was the only thing that worked as advertised. There was no tape on the seams (you could even see light through the holes on the stitching). The zippers were completely worthless, and the idiots that designed the tent put the screen layer ON THE INSIDE OF A TENT WITH NO OTHER VENTILATION. TO open the screen you have to open the solid layer on the outside which creates a lip that essentially invites moisture to collect between the layers and seep through the zipper stitching. The very center of the tent was dry but every single inch of space at the foot of the walls were puddles by morning. It set up instantly and that's the only thing it did as advertised. When I posted essentially what I've said above, on one of their facebook posts they blocked me from commenting or reacting and deleted my comment. They're a sketchy chinese dropshipper. DO NOT BUY.

You should put a ground cloth underneath the tent. Also, I bought a "PopUp Tent" Like this one and I seal all the seams and spray the entire tent and bottom "Bathtub" with tent / camping Scotch guard. I was on a camping trip and slept on a cot on the inside. The winds hit at least 35 mph and the rain was diagonal and hard....not a drop in the tent. Like anything, you have to take precautions. Apparently you need to seam seal it yourself since they forgot that process. Then to insure it's waterproof set it up under a good quality tarp. When I saw the price and the reduction i figured it was junk to start with. Thanks for the truth.

When I went to lift it up, it shot up way to far and I can’t press down to lock it in. Now waiting for the kids to come and help me sort it out. If it works I will be taking extra towels with me in case it rains.
Maybe it is not completely outdoor tent . I will buy it but it but it will be used underneath the canopy . It is easy to used. It is maybe use if you go to the camping site that has a canopy or underneath the outdoor some type of roof for protection.
People can't really think that a tent with this prize would keep the water outside without any extra cover? Just like the small and cheap car can't be a quiet one on highway speeds... 😂
Another gripe ive got is that when mine arrived it was slightly different from the adverts and the youtube vids and I was disappointed that the bug mesh on mine only covered half the exits which meant ventilation on hot days/nights wouldn't be good. I emailed OR about it but they never bothered to reply. PS- I read somewhere that there are early and late versions of the tent, I don't know which version mine is.
There are plenty of excellent tents currently on the market - have a look at the Vaude range (I use their MK2 model). Hilleberg are supposed to be the 'best of the best' tents, although they cost a fortune. My general experience of outdoor/camping equipment is you get what you pay for - £500 is what I'd expect to pay for a truly weatherproof 3 person tent.
I have 2 of these. They are fine. You didnt put the small fly on the top nor did you put a groundsheet underneath both of which help protect. I sprayed both of mine with Nykwax before i used them. No leaks not even in heavy rain.
Did you just got tent? The company has improved the tent after they watch my vid. I’m glad my bud made a difference. The new tents are supposed to be waterproof now. I have viewers that purchased the tent same time as me and had the same issues. I have used this tent couple times and still leaks even set it up correctly and it’s still leaks. I now sprayed waterproofing guard and it’s still leaks but very little. I got a new one from the company but yet give it a test.
Puddle Alert !- I've just bought the small sized one, and although workmanship is good, a major design flaw is that the top is not domed or even flat, but actually sags to form a "crater" or rain trap . Don't take my word for it, checkout some vids. The small "top cover" doesn't cover the whole crater, so any rain falling towards the outer edges of the crater will run inwards towards the centre and form a puddle which might then trickle down the centre spindle. I'll try making a bigger top cover myself out of spare waterproof material to cover the whole diameter of the crater which should solve the problem.
@@crooked-halo A lot of thought went into the design but they goofed bigtime by having a too-small top cover, but like I sad, we can easily throw a bigger moemmade cover over the top and hold it in place with tent pegs..:) PS- I hear they released a 'mark 2' version which supposedly corrected any faults the earlier version had, and slashed the price of the earlier version, so perhaps some people have got the early version?
I've just ordered one but there'll never be water inside because I always routinely simply throw a lightweight camo tarp over all my tents for extra protection..:)
It does say on the details it has a hydrostatic head of 3000. Thats only mid range. Our family tent was 5000 and stood up to heavy rain. The test you put it through would exceed the 3000. These tents are fine for a few days camping where heavy rainfall is not expected. I have 2. I would always take some duck tape with me to secure seams if need be. At £80 each what do you expect. The ease putting it up compensates.
Thank you for this video. I read through the comments and see the company redesigned the tent and it no longer leaks. Curious, do you know if there is a way to tell the difference? I’m afraid I’ll get the older one. Unless they have completely phased out the older model by now?
I think they have added a bigger rain fly. They have a better guide line. The best way is to test it out so you know for sure you are not getting the old ones. Ask them if the tent is refundable if it leaks. Good luck.
You can already see the flaws from the commercial / product-pictures. The fly is saggy and makes a pool on the upper part which will eventually let the rain find it's way in. Also the tent weights 4,65kg which is quite alot for a tent this size. Do yourself a favor and buy a tent from well-known brand. It don't have to cost a fortune, just for warrantys sake.
YOU need to completely reseal all of the sewing on the tent, and I do mean all of it and let it dry well. I also found pin holes in the rain cover which I resealed and some in the bathtub floor. This tent is just one big piece of crap in my opinion. The company would have done better if they used fiberglass rods instead of the cheap plastic umbrella poles. What good does it to have a 3-second tent if it gets destroyed by rain or wind easily. I guess you could use it to cover garden equipment in your yard maybe.
Maybe it would work in the desert, where it hardly ever rains. Does it stay cool in the sun? Or cool off quickly when the sun goes down? Does it keep out snakes? Could you test this on your next trip to Death Valley? Oh, never mind, they don't allow tents there... Except in the winter, when it rains...
Also, be aware the tent weighs a hefty 6 pounds which is a bit heavy for backpacking on foot or bicycle, so I think a motorbike or vehicle is needed. Suggestion to the tentmakers- bring out a 1-person version to cut down the weight.
I use this tent now Pass or Fail : Amazon’s Bessport 2 men tent th-cam.com/video/WbhMRDrBqH8/w-d-xo.html No leaks. It’s still heavy for backpacking but I usually do motorcycle camping so not a big deal. This tent pack much smaller too.

There are plenty of excellent tents currently on the market - have a look at the Vaude range (I use their MK2 model). Hilleberg are supposed to be the 'best of the best' tents, although they cost a fortune. My general experience of outdoor/camping equipment is you get what you pay for - £500 is what I'd expect to pay for a truly weatherproof 3 person tent.
thank you for the review, you saved me some money.
Thanks for the video. Regards from Germany 👍👍
Thank you! Had one in cart😖
I have 2 of these. They are fine. You didnt put the small fly on the top nor did you put a groundsheet underneath both of which help protect. I sprayed both of mine with Nykwax before i used them. No leaks not even in heavy rain.
I did have a small fly on top. That spray you put on stoped the leaks. But if you used it prior to the spray it will leaks.
the small fly on top is not the rain fly. the tent is hung inside the larger tent fly. Also, no ground tarp@@Yololife813
Should you have to add treatments to a new product though?
@@jeffholt9437 No! Top-of-the-line, high-dollar tents repel blizzards & hurricanes with little leakage and nothing added prior to usage.
Thank you 🙏
Thank you...saved my money too
Well, I wouldn't be camping out in the middle of a storm. I usually keep a watch on the weather-news before i do any camping, or fishing.
THANK YOU! i have almost done a mistake 😂
Thank you.
Adriana said "Try a third one." 😂😂
😂They wouldn’t send me the third one cause they know it will fail again😆
Well done, well done indeed!
thank you so much, i was going to buy one - not now!
Mine has weathered several storms with no issues. BTW, I didn’t see where you pushed the inner rods down; that’s a critical step.
Thanks. You're nice man
Thank you for the video, I was considering this but now - NO!
Thank you very much for your video !
Thought they have improved after they saw my video. Guess they need more improvement
@@Yololife813 Mine had a greatly reduced price so they're probably hoping to sell off the old stuff like mine first..:)
"Workmanship is good?" This is a low-quality tent with sub-par construction & materials.
@@crooked-halo A lot of thought went into the design but they goofed bigtime by having a too-small top cover, but like I sad, we can easily throw a bigger moemmade cover over the top and hold it in place with tent pegs..:)
PS- I hear they released a 'mark 2' version which supposedly corrected any faults the earlier version had, and slashed the price of the earlier version, so perhaps some people have got the early version?
I've just ordered one but there'll never be water inside because I always routinely simply throw a lightweight camo tarp over all my tents for extra protection..:)
Since my video posted on here the company has improved the tent. Hope you got a newer improve one
First honest review ever thank you
They just contacted me to review and are sending the product. I guess we'll find out if it has been upgraded.
I hope they fix the leaking problem or replace the materials .I love the fast set up and break down but the leaking is horrible
If they advertise it’s waterproof, then I expected to be waterproof. Thanks for input.
For £80 you can get a go outdoors special that will stay completely dry. This is just a sunstandard product pushed heavily on social media
Thanks
Was almost an fb sucker ! Thanks for the review, and I will not be ordering. Hero 😊
Good luck.
Thank you.... Would hate to buy a tent that i would have to cover with a tarp to keep dry... Lol.
I sprayed both tents. But have test it out yet in the rain
This is a novelty. If it was just sleeved 6x5 dome tent with two shock cord hoop poles it wouldn't stand out from any Ozark Trail $35 tent.
Where did the water Come from ?
Thank you for this video. I'll never buy this tent it's a bad product
Also, be aware the tent weighs a hefty 6 pounds which is a bit heavy for backpacking on foot or bicycle, so I think a motorbike or vehicle is needed.
Suggestion to the tentmakers- bring out a 1-person version to cut down the weight.
I use this tent now
Pass or Fail : Amazon’s Bessport 2 men tent

No leaks. It’s still heavy for backpacking but I usually do motorcycle camping so not a big deal. This tent pack much smaller too.
“If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is”!!!
I think it would make a good beach tent, as long as it doesn’t rain.
Should be in the tent to see where the water was coming in
I think a footprint would kept the water out. I ordered getting it tomorrow 2-28-24
The company has improved their tent from leaking because they have quite a few complaints. Hopefully you get the improvements one
