    Thanks, Rusty. I used to use Qimage back around 2004 or so, then got away from it, even though I kept upgrading the program. Every time I went to use it, I did not have the time to re-familiarize myself with the interface and kept going back to LR (v6). After watching your video, I did the simple setup steps and was rapidly turning out terrific prints again, most of them a notch above what I was getting through LR.

      Thanks Thomas. And thanks for subscribing. I'll be putting up the extended version of Qimage today so let me know if you get the notice. I don't do many of these but always wonder if the thing is working. LOL.

    Hi from Macedonia.
    Thank you very much for this information, nice video.
    I have 1 question, did you calibrate your prinrer and use that profile or you used profile from printer when you print Fotos.

    • @RustyNelsonPhotography
      @RustyNelsonPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure what you mean. I did a color calibration with the media type. I also did a paper calibration.

      Hey, Mark thanks a bunch for dropping in. Yes, this will really help you out with the layout world. That is why I started using it on the pro 4000 and suddenly I was using it on the Pro 1000. The best thing is you can resize on the fly so to speak...just push-pull and drag the images. Love it for that. BTW I popped over to see some of your images. GREAT work! I will be posting the expanded version of the video today so if you are subscribed you'll get that notice. All the best...Rusty

    Hi Rusty,
    I saw Many tutorials from you and I just Bought a CANON pro 1000 and may be you can help me because I struggle...
    I want to make a big print ( 432mm by 1200 mm ). I use CAPTURE ONE 20 on a PC Windows 10 , and In the printer dialog box, under PAGE set up I choose « personnalised « then in the PRINT setting for the paper size I choose : 1200x432.
    The résult is : in the print dialogue box the PAPER size stay « unknown », the Template is on « Personalised » and the « Lay out « is 297 by 210 mm instead of 1200 x 432 mm.
    Ihave no probleme when I do the same procedure on my small MAC BOOK pro.
    Thank you for your help.
    Louis

      th-cam.com/video/7_xpxYtiz4s/w-d-xo.html Unfortunately I do not use Capture one. But for printing I always use Qimage or Qimage one. I put the link on there. If you use the link on that page you can get a discount if you want to try. If somebody else uses Capture One maybe they could jump in. Rusty.

    HI, Rusty,
    Thanks for the informative video. I am using a Canon Pro-10 (MAC Mojave) and I am new to printing. I usually have no problem with 5x7 and 4x6 prints centering on the paper, but larger sizes--I cannot get them to center on A4 paper or 11x14, usually the right edge is narrower than the others even though they appear fine in print preview. This happens if I print from LrC, PS or Preview.
    Searching the web, this seems to be a common problem. To be clear...does printing via Q Image address this issue successfully? Thanks

    • @RustyNelsonPhotography
      @RustyNelsonPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although I do not know exactly you problem, I can tell you that is the exact reason I bought it in the beginning. The layout. I was having a heck of a time on my Pro 4000 44 inch wide getting a 24x36 centered in the middle. I would have to say that it should. You can use the program I believe for two weeks free and still apply the discount code that I have on TH-cam. For me I like using Ultimate simply because it has some more options. Try this video if you have not watched it. th-cam.com/video/eaf-BGUTkkM/w-d-xo.html
      Hope this helps. Just be willing to take a little time to learn the interface. Try to follow the example I give in this video. All the best and let me know what happens.

    Does anyone know how long you can go between printing on the Canon Pro-1000 before it will run through a cleaning cycle when you power it on? I know when I'm printing every day it doesn't seem to run the cleaning cycle.. but what if I print every 3 days? Do you think printing a purge sheet every couple of days would use less ink that a full cleaning cycle once a week? I'm thinking that option in Qimage alone might make it worth every penny?

    • @RustyNelsonPhotography
      @RustyNelsonPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Welcome to the great mysteries of the printing world. From what I understand there is no way to change the cleaning cycles. They will happen... They are there for a purpose. Please if somebody knows a way put a link with the documentation...thanks! The purge sheet as far as I know will not change the cleaning cycle. If you put it before 60 hrs you "may" lesson the amount of ink used. What it will do is exercise each nozzles. It uses a low amount of ink. Leaving printer sit for long periods will tend to clog the print heads. Some types of printers more then others. I have left my 1000 sit for a month with no problems. But not suggesting that. The pro 1000 will clean at 60hrs come hell or high water. I bought this printer originally because I knew I would not be printing for periods of time and had friends with other brands have problems. With that said...I just accept it and know the cost and realize this is they way it is. Then I go and enjoy the printing.

    Would printing in Q image take care of the aspect ratio of photo or is it something that has to be done separately in Light room ? Thank you 😊

    • @RustyNelsonPhotography
      @RustyNelsonPhotography  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm assuming you mean crop the image to an aspect ratio rather then stretch an image. Although you can "crop" in Qimage Ultimate, for myself I would definitely do my cropping in Lightroom / Photoshop and then send the final image over to Qimage. THe way I do it is to create one image that is the master and then I make and crop a virtual copy of that cropped size over to Qimage. Many reasons for this and just one is you may have applied a vignette in Lightroom and if you cropped the image in Qimage you would be cropping the vignette. I will be doing a discription on here of the way I do my digital workflow soon and will cover some of that so if you are interested make sure you subscibe...here is the link. th-cam.com/users/rustynelsonphotography
