REICHENBACH FALLS and AARE GORGE in Meiringen: WORTH IT?

You want to know what to expect when visiting the Reichenbachfalls and the Aare Gorge in Meiringen Switzerland? Join me on my day trip and have a look at those unique places.
The Aare Gorge or Aareschlucht in german is probably one of the top tourist destinations in Switzerland. Also the Reichenbachfalls or Reichenbachfälle are well known because of the story of Sherlok Holmes who fell all the way down those waterfalls when he was fighting his enemy. This daytrip is definitely a great thing to do when you stay in Interlaken, since it is really close.

How long does it take to hike from one end of the gorge and back

The entire way is about 1.4km so if walk both ways it should be possible to make it in about 40 minutes to 1 hour. 😉

Yes a half day is enough, the funicular is only about a 10 minute walk from the entrance of the gorge 😄
