Ok so I watched it and saw your video. The book as you described it, is so much better. I don't know if they got cold feet about unsubscribing a child from life on a film and the consecuences, but the book is so much better and that not knowing if there was indeed an end of the world and the end of them walking with the corpse was so much better, loved the video!!!!

I often wonder how much angrier that movie made Avatar fans, the ones that watched the anime for years and years. That’s the worst part. M. Night apparently spoke to the author and not only did he sign off on this new ending, hut he said that was his second choice of narrative when he wrote it. Irate doesn’t come close to describing how I felt 😂

You're likely thinking of Paul writing in the New Testament, where a word that we have no prior historical context for and which tranliterates to "male bedders" was rendered as "homosexuals" in an English translation, while another word meaning "soft" was translated as either "homosexuals" or "effeminate," and these have been treated as referring to tops and bottoms.
The first word almost certainly refers to the Roman practice of slave owners SAing their slaves whenever they felt like it, and especially the cultural expectation and practice for hosts at parties to provide slaves for the "enjoyment" of their guests. It seems that new Christian patrons were still doing this and even offering their new Christian brothers to guests and Paul was telling them this was evil.
In the second case, the word for "weak" often translated as "effeminate," etc. is also used by Jesus to refer to moral weakness. Paul was very influenced by Stoicism and this likely refers to people living indulgent lives of excess, gluttony, and lust in a general sense.
The right is almost certainly wrong in its interpretations, but the context of the original texts are way more nuanced and disassociated from our contemporary culture than just being a command not to do stuff with children.

I wonder if the point of the story is the illusion of free will where humans are put in impossible situations beyond their control and told they have free will but if they use it in a way displeasing to god then they and others around them will suffer horrible consequences in this world and the next.
To be honest, that could very well be one of the meanings. The beauty of these stories is how open to interpretation they are, and what you take away from them highly depends on who you are, what you believe, and what you are led to feel.
Then comes M. Night to poop the bed and ruin it 😂
When I first saw the trailer there is a sequence when Leonard carries Wen and I thought she might die (by mistake), interesting to hear she dies in the book! I hated the ending of the film, I liked the ambiguity so much more. The Shayamalans start of great and often turn too on the nose or even absurd when it comes to twists (go and see the Watchers, I rolled my eyes hard)
Yeah, he reminds me a lot of Ryan Murphy, both Glee and American Horror Story had a very strong and promising start and then turned into a car crash worse than final destination 2 lol
Oh I am very much looking forward to the watchers, but saving it for when it comes out on VOD ‘cause I definitely want to talk about it (and will give me time to read the book), so stay tuned!
