    Definitely put a quad on side of tool box so you won’t have to worry about cutting your truck. Putting a quad on tool box would do the job for 360 coverage. Amazing installation by the way!

    I just built and wired the same truck for a Linx system for over landing. He had three zones of lights for camping and five for driving. We did a compressor and have to add two more light zones and two power outlets for tent and bed accessories. It’s really nice to see the similarities in my choices to yours.

    One thing I will warn you with the front visor light is visability of objects above your vehicle I.e. traffic lights, low hanging trees as you get close. Otherwise good setup would recommend with your current setup, as a emergency responder myself adding lights to your bumper as you come to intersections be it on or off road. For the lights towards the back going on your headache rack would allow for ease of install, but the 90° bracket mounted under the tool box would give you better light distribution. If you go with the light under or on the toolbox on the sideloop of the headache rack putting a spot work light there will be greatly appreciated when working off axis of your main lights

    How are you able to call up certain colors and patterns with the switch?

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      it's all in the quad controller programming. you trigger modes 1, 2, 3, and then use the quad controller to program your colors. once set, every time you bring up that "mode" it'll remember your flash pattern and color selection.

    • @08_crown_vic

    I have been in the fire dept here in Pa. for 40 years, and have had every light known to man installed on multiple styles of vehicles. I don't know how the Colo. laws are, but I do know that federal laws state that you are not allowed to run visor style lights unless they are only amber. Any other color gets you a ticket for "impersonating a police officer". Here in Pa, the only emergency lights (on a personal vehicle) have to be roof mounted and visible 360 degrees. No interior mounted light bars at all are legal, doesn't matter the color. I had a traffic advisor (amber) mounted in my rear window of my F-250 Super Duty, and found it to be illegal.

    • @JustinKingOffroad

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      i'm not sure about the light bar icon, but you can trigger as many outputs as you want with a button. it's all in the programming. on my f150, i had a button bring up all the rear items at the same time, and that was 3 different 12v+ ports. example now on this truck, to get a center out on the light bar/TA, you have to energize the left and right arrow functions at the same time. I trigger this with a single button.

    Can you send me a file of ur 4200, I'm trying to figure out how to program this quad 800, I'm just needing something to go off on.

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      you simply use the 4200 to turn on and off 12v power. you do all the programming in the quad controller OUTSIDE of the 4200. simply apply power to one of the quad controller inputs and set your color/flash pattern with the selection buttons.

    Be careful with where you went into the cab vent with your wiring. It leaves open for CO poisoning.

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      not really, that's just a pressure vent hole so when you shut the doors you don't blow the windows out. when you're driving around with any form of ventilation going (ac/heat) that pressure escapes through those rear ports too. CO poisoning could happen when parked anyway as it would suck in from the cowl vent, but not while moving.

    You're not allowed to use Blue Lights. Only Police, Medical and Municipal Snow Plows are allowed to use Blue Lights in Colorado.
    Fire Dept can get away with it, because no one hassles the Fire Dept's...

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      last time i had the EV we specified whatever we wanted on the form. there is nothing in the state statues that restricts blue in colorado to only LEO/plows.

  • @MaxZomboni
    @MaxZomboni 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    If I were you, I would get the blue lights off there and keep them off, even if you get a permit. All they will do is make you look like law enforcement, and I don't see how that can help you. For example if I'm driving on a narrow road and I see a rescue vehicle coming up behind me, I'll speed up and stay ahead of it, until I come to a good place to pull over. But if you come up behind me flashing blue lights, I'm going to immediately slow down to 5 under the speed limit and drive at that speed, until I can pull over., and that could take a couple of extra minutes. Because I'm not dumb. For all I know you are pulling me over , and I'm not going to give you any more reason to. Also I think the traffic advisory lights look perfect. Those traffic advisory lights that fade out and change patterns confuse the hell out of me. Sometimes I can't tell what they are telling me to do. These light look nice and give a clear meaning.

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That's a great point actually! I'll be unhooking the emergent "mode 3" I programmed here soon anyway. I'll program that as red/white one of these days and see what it looks like before I unhook it.

  • @08_crown_vic
    @08_crown_vic ปีที่แล้ว

    If you dont have legal right to use modes just dont use them.
    Why do you need to disable

    • @JustinKingOffroad
      @JustinKingOffroad  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Being in possession of the light with the mode capable is actually illegal in most states.

    Are we going to have a dozen “responders” to every incident like back in the 90’s ... I miss being rerouted away from stuff before I’m on top of it!
    On my way home from Berthoud...I had four LSD vehicles coming toward me and yet it was a grey unmarked Ram LE and a plain cloths officer with a vehicle on the side of the road
    ...Having been one of the folks the infamous officer impersonator from back in the day tried to pull over you would be following me for a very long time with my hazards on and me verifying your legitimacy!!!

    • @stormtrooper_jeep_zj

      I run a yellow light bar in my Jeep's rear window that has multiple patterns and you would be surprised at how many positive comments I get when off-roading with a group. Believe or not, it does help people behind me see my vehicle clearly in really dusty conditions. I've been on some trails where you couldn't see 5 feet in front of you and the only thing keeping me from rear ending the rig in front of me was bright yellow flashing lights. They work great in heavy fog too.
