Good morning Boudy, la cigarra is an insect( Cicada in Spanish) the myth in Mexico is that when it sings it dies, so the song is about how when la cigarra sings it’s announcing it’s death, that life can be hard but it’s best to sing and die like la cigarra 🎶 La Cifarra is a very old and common song for Mariachi music. My brother, Natalia was born in Madrid and life was very rough on her for many years. Some years ago she moved to Mexico and she was embraced by the mexican people because of her being able to overcome her past and how she totally embraced Mexico as they did her. There is a video where the audiance basically expressed their love for her and she broke into tears. As the mexican people say "we mexicans are born wherever the ........we want.

Love this song. It's a very happy song. Natalia is from Spain and Lila is from Mexico. Both are fantastic singers. My favorite song from Natalia is "Creo en Mi". (I believe in me). It's a song written by her and it's a difficult song to sing. My favorite from Lila is "Llorona" (Crying Woman). This concert is a concert where Natalia sings with various artists in wonderful duets. It is a spectacular show. Fun fact: Linda Ronstadt sings this song for her concert "Canciones de Mi Padre" (My father's Songs).
